If I were Guardiola I’d be telling Aguero I’d changed my mind and could he stay after all. No tracking back required, no linking play, just bang the ball in the net.
-
Well said.

What manner of ju-ju is this?
-
So did I. Should be a good match which means it will turn out to be dire. If Foden plays from the start and City don’t get into crab-dance mode they should win 3-1. If they play the way they did last week ‘Spurs have a chance. Even if both teams play to their best it wouldn’t be as good a game as 1960 ‘Spurs against 1968 City. @compo will tell you the same.

I sort of know what you mean but then I wonder which fixture would be more attractive, Livingston v Rangers on the plastic macaroni or Aston Villa v Rangers at Villa Park? But wait, I say to myself. Livingston and the Villa are not good comparisons. Swap Villa for Hearts and Southampton for Livingston and I might say stay where we are. On the other hand Everton, Newcastle, Leeds, Wolves. Hmmmm.

It’s already crashed and burned.

If true the Spaniards must have a grounds for action against Uefa. Inducement to breach contract, perhaps. -

England will always have a viable domestic league. I wonder if the fourteen would accept a replacement giant from what may soon be a foreign country. -

We know that compo is not a slave to the fiend intemperate but if he were, he would have a rather good Veuve Clicquot. The elite don’t sup on Buckfast.

City and ‘Spurs are the other two according to some reports. celtic will of course be automatic entrants. -
City buggered about too much. Serves them right. I wonder if Kane would fit into a Guardiola team. He’d be better off at United.
-
Chelsea are the form team no doubt though the semi final was tedium. City need to find a new David Silva and get an Aguero style finisher.

Only lasted the customary 44 days at Leeds. I knew he was in and out at Elland Road but I hadn’t realised it was the same period as Stein. Clough was an excellent centre forward before a bad injury finished him. Saw him score two in a 6-6 draw in a friendly at Easter Road. Joe Baker got four for the Hibs.
-
Correct. You’re a bit hard on Stein, though. He did 44 days.
-
I think Chelsea are going to win it.
-
Stein is a classic example. Won a cup at Dunfermline, changed Hibs into a football team and transformed a bunch of also-rans in the east end. Failed at Leeds but that wasn’t surprising in the circumstances. I wonder what Hibs would have achieved if he had stayed.

The Albion storming up towards second bottom.

I was waiting for the results. I would have been wrong about Fulham v Wolves. Relegation seems settled now. Disappointed about the three going done. There are others I would have preferred and the likely replacements aren’t electrifying. May as well have a go at the rest of the card: City 2-1 Leeds Liverpool 3-0 Villa Palace 0-2 Chelsea Burnley 1-0 Mags Hammers 2-1 Leicester Hotspur 2-2 United Blades 0-2 Gunners Baggies 2-1 So’ton Brighton 2-1 Everton
