  1. You must have been watching different players than me. Ness was a fantastic talent in fact imo probably the best potential player we have produced in years, problem was obviously a) injury prone and b) fitness levels. That game against Celtic he bossed the midfield until he tired and i remember a game against Caley where he had just come back from injury again and was clearly the best player we had on the park. When you think he was pretty much always playing significantly below match fitness as well. I do like Hutton also but he isn't in even remotely close to Ness for potential.
  2. Will be interesting to see if this happens though once the embargo is lifted and Ally is told he has cash to spend. I would rather only use any available cash to bring in quality players rather than squad players like some of recent signing, Kyle, Faure etc.
  3. Don't think i am yet to see a positive post about Rangers from you. In the first half we had umpteen chances to score, could easy have 3 or 4 on another day. I am not Ally's biggest fan tactics wise, but he can't be blamed for players not putting the ball in the net. Also we played Motherwell off the park at Ibrox and thats the best side we have faced this season. Don't get me wrong the long punts are irritating, especially Alexanders but some of the play of McLeod, Mckay, Templeton and the movement of Little when played through the middle is very exciting for me.
  4. Have to admit that some of my earlier posts in this thread are looking a bit wide of the mark now and i'm glad Super is turning it around. McLeod, Hutton, Mckay, Temps, Little (when through the middle) all look very dangerous. We could easy have scored 3 or 4 in first 20mins with the chances we had. Defence is still a bit shaky and i'm really not convinced by Argyriou but all in all a good performance tonight imo. My only gripe about tonight was Alexander from a Rangers perspective - why the f*ck he persists in punting the ball long i have no idea but it really does do my bloody head in. I can't think of one time we retained possession from it??
  5. Can i just ask, whats the point in a comment like that? How on earth would ticketus be involved? If you have some inside knowledge, share it, otherwise a comment like that is just complete nonsense. Raising 22.2 million is a positive for the club regardless of the spin the CG haters on here would like to put on it.
  6. Am i missing something on the staff costs....CG has been going on about 7 million wage bill a lot but the staff costs listed are 3.5mill for only 3 months. Its actually less than 3 months too though because the transfer took place on the 15th June. So that would suggest a wage bill of over 14million per year???
  7. Surely the shareholders of the holding co would have to vote for the club to be sold....so really can't see that happening although certainly brings a question of doubt where there shouldn't be one
  8. Never thought of that....even if we dont turn up we will still get half the dosh! That is surely the way to go!
  9. For me whatever happens we need to be together we either sell out our end and get 100% behind the lads or not one of us turn up. Anything in between will not be good enough unfortunately, we need to show the whole of Scotland that Rangers fans are 100% together.
  10. Very long article but well worth the read on Dortmund's turnaround from brink of bankruptcy: http://swissramble.blogspot.de/2012/10/borussia-dortmund-back-in-game.html Obviously the figures are inflated for what is achievable in Scottish football, but the jist should be the same. They won the Bundesliga with one of the best records ever on a wages to turnover ratio of 44%. Once they cleared the debt they focused on Youth development including a special academy for developing 19-23 year old players which use to be ran by former Gers player Christian Nerlinger. We are obviously going the right way at the moment with youth players but that is more of a result of our current situation. Look at some of the players we have let go who turned out to be very good SPL players, Andy Shinnie is the obvious one at the moment. CG is making the right noises but this article hopefully offers reassurance that a prudent approach can be successful in the long run.
  11. Some of those are abysmal....opening game of the season getting less than 100k! Will be interesting to see if some of the things CG has said come to light. Would love to know our viewing figures for the ppv match last weekend. Pity that hasn't been reported anywhere.
  12. Does anyone have any idea of viewing figures? A few folk have been saying it was as low as 8,000! I really can't see that otherwise the club would have probably lost money...plus with the connection problems i was thinking must have been a fair amount tuned in.
  13. I 've spotted at the bottom of the document that HMRC can appeal, which i assume they will.....
  14. Yeah the admin was caused by CW not paying PAYE and NIC nothing to do with the big tax case
  15. Could this not be a similar setup to the NFL in the states where it is setup as a non profit organization therefore tax exempt?
  16. Correct and the proof at the moment is on the park. Brought in SPL quality players and have been struggling to get wins in SFL3 versus part timers. Also this season is critical, at the start of the season the fans were 100% behind Ally and the team which season ticket sales proved....if performances keep going the way they are do you expect season tickets sales to be as strong next year? That is a risk, in my opinion, we can't afford to take for too long. Momentum is crucial if all the fans are going to keep buying season books.
  17. I can only think the reason Ally and the coaching team are still in place is due to money. Rumour is Ally is on 20k p/w, so even if he only has a deal in place to the end of the season that would cost 650k+ whatever McDowall is on to fire them. I get the feeling CG doesn't want to do anything which will make our finances look worse before the IPO. Also not to mention you would then have the cost to bring in a new coach on top of terminating Ally's deal. I reckon they will give Ally till the end of the season regardless now.....which for me is not right but we will see.
  18. Don't think i have ever read so much nonsense in my puff. Clearly written to pander to his terrorist loving mates. He really needs to crawl back into the hole he came out of.
  19. It wouldn't surprise if there was some backhanders involved. Just look at the Union terrace gardens shambles.
  20. "Newco Rangers FC " they just can't help themselves can they.
  21. Is there a plan to wear it in a match? If they did that as a one off say then it would be really popular i would have thought.
  22. Spot on. That's why i can't see the £20mill being raised.
  23. To be honest i can't see the 20 million all being raised. I think there is a massive difference between backing the club with season ticket purchases and then also asking to invest in the club with no real guarantee of return. Will the share price rise significantly on getting back to the SPL? Just looking at Celtics share price it didn't move a great deal when they qualified for the CL and they only have a market cap of 34m. Maybe that is hampered by the amount of large shareholders they have restricting share movements i don't know, not an expert. But i really can't see a massive return for the current shareholders through share price movement alone.
  24. There was a few interesting comments: I really hope we aren't paying Ally 20k p/w - "The club can’t afford to pay its manager over £1MM and then give every coach and executive premium healthcare, generous pensions, six weeks of vacation, exotic cars, free fuel, appearance fees and other perks." Wow... paying directors to attend matches! That's a total disgrace whoever accepted that. - " The club can’t afford to pay directors annual fees to simply attend matches, socialize and run up a large food and beverage tab." Hopefully this will change now we are our out of the JJB deal - "Despite being one of the top clubs in the world in terms of shirt sales, the club does not generate nearly as much profit as does Celtic – even though Celtic sells fewer shirts than Rangers."
