  1. They had booked fun trips and didn't want to come in for their onerous few hours a week at "work" is probably the only real reason it was postponed. Ally and the lads having a fun time off. The deliberate deception of "four or five...better payers" suggests someone very keen not to tell the truth What is the difference between the squad today and what the squad would have been last week, in any case?
  2. We were missing Sheils (he's missing even when he is on the field and in any case was far from a certain starter), Moshni who was suspended and Zaliukas (who also was far from a certain starter). So the paying customer would have seen the best Rangers team possible as far as I can see. However my question wan't on the rights or wrongs of this but that Ally says "4 or 5" - I can count two at a stretch, probably one - to whom is he referring?
  3. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/f...-call-4457552? ALLY McCOIST has backed Rangers’ move to call off last week’s league clash at Cowdenbeath – and says they will do it again. The SPFL turned down a bid from the Fifers to get it back on after the Ibrox men had it put back due to international call-ups. McCoist said: “Why would I want to play the game now when I can play it later with a full squad? It just doesn’t make sense. “If you have four or five players on international duty, logic would tell you they will be some of your better players. “I’ve got to look after the interests of my club. If we played without four players and lost, I’m not sure there would be much sympathy. Having called games off in the past, it would also be unfair on other teams. If we play Dumbarton when there is an international and have four players out, is that then fair on Cowdenbeath where we called the game off? “So we have to show fairness to everyone but the most important thing is that we have to look after our own corner.” @@@@ I can't think of more than one who would have been missing. And now, scared as we are to face Cowdenbeath, we'll drop points later in the season or go out of cups because we'll be playing three games week with players who train so little they are exhausted after 70 minutes far less 270.
  4. I liked it, forwarded it to a few pals who don;t do forums. They did too. Oh, and in case anyone cares (I can't imagine they will, but just in case) I am Henderson63, there.
  5. Football tends to make succesful businessmen forget what made them succesful in the first place, those of them who actually are fans of the game/a team I mean
  6. Ally is his friend so that seems unlikely. Depends hoe good Messi was at RB and hitting long speculative airborne balls to nowhere, to be fair. If the Argentine could clog opponent wingers and do that he'd be in with a chance
  7. I can't see King ever sacking Ally. It is a terrible fear I have for the future even were my other terrible fear of King not gaining control/sway to prove unfounded. This is the Rangers Way = living in fear of "businessmen" (crooks in suits) It's another reason why we need FO, as I know you agree. And so, yes, we are all desperately hoping for King because although he is a "mendacious" liar and crook - he's one of ours. Although he's a control freak - he's one of ours. Until we have a viable FO we are in this situation. This is what happens when you leave yourself vulnerable on capitalist markets. Man U for example are in an utterly ludicrous situation of debt while earning quadzillions (and were close to being bought by Knighton long before that) . But given the options, I pray for King - because I'd rather King than Green-and-Whyte-shite's cronies. However..................their claws are in so deep that even at best it will be King plus onerous contracts, no? And Ally as manager *shudder* forever ****shudder x 1000*
  8. But he says he would never manage a club like us, so why keep saying this? He couldn't have made it clearer - he thinks we are untouchable for him, he dislikes the idea of it so much he said "never" - totally unprompted and not when manager of them.
  9. The two posts above yours were re Sbragia, SBS - the other stuff one has to really hope was not serious for reasons stated in previous replies.
  10. Now would do just fine, SC
  11. The media also have a huge pent up frustration re him - old and new media, I mean. Local papers are banned, many individual reporters are banned, blog writers are banned, their equivalent of UoF are utterly ostracised and so forth. Also, given what he has done to the club, how he runs it for SD completely and NUFC hardly at all - and add in that he has always played up to his envisaged role as an outsider which he reinforces with his cockney mafia lot from Dennis Wise to Joe Kinnear (***shudder***). ..and his outburst after less than a year and a half of selling up (and then not doing so) = yes the coverage will be negative
  12. Yes, they have seen him in action, they have experience of him ergo they are against him. Cause and effect.
  13. I repeat, he has said he could never manage us because we "are not his kind of club ". He thinks we are contemptible. McGhee out and out hates us
  14. Strachan said, live on TV, that the OF were huge clubs but that he'd never manage Rangers because: "they are just not my kind of club." He said it as though we were the ones with a child abuse past, not them. So, that's that one dealt with As for MgHater......nah, this just isn't worth it? Who next to be proposed, TLB ffs?
  15. I am aiming one weekend trip to Ibrox before the years end, if I could swing it for this one v my hometown mob, it would be magic to follow it up with this, How late can one leave it before confirming? (i promise to be well behaved....well, unless we lose) Dave Smith is a huge hero. I'll never forget his performance v the Arabs one day (the day he even beat the linesman and joked with him)
  16. http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-29527838 Rangers FC are omitted from the survey and calculator because they did not provide data to the BBC. Did we boycott or were just unable to respond?
  17. Apparently he meant 100% of that outwith the Easdale 26% proxy as 75% is needed. Of course this is still arithmetically challenged as only 74% would be left.
  18. Ta. Now I can put names to the backs of heads Nice to see a lady head the table too
  19. OK - good thinking, after the first Cowden one in November you might be say the same re the December meeting v them
  20. OK folks, I've not had the pleasure of meeting any of you, not knowingly anyway though I've met hundreds of bears on away trips*, so who is sitting where, here? And what devilish instructions are being beamed to you ?! http://www.rangers.co.uk/media/k2/items/cache/65ffeb67f829dcdf29044a6634d01dfc_XL.jpg *Of course i only remember a small percentage of those as my memory of Euro trips very oddly always seem to contain large gaps.....
  21. I know you would probably prefer a volunteer for a more imminent one, Zappa but I am a bit busy (understatement) for the next couple of months, I'd be pleased to do the last one one the list - the Hibs one on Dec 27th. It's either that or having to do Xmas shopping after all,,,,,
  22. This "chap" in your work - wouldn't be from Shettleston would he? It's the well worn tale re the parent company-club liabilities. Those with long memories and financial terminology could fill you in or supply you with links. PS Be careful though - don't trust anyone who has 1872 in their user name, nor those who only start/contribute to threads regarding financial topics of a negative nature. These are often the same folk, btw. Almost always in fact......................on other boards I mean. Not here, obviously.

  24. "Aye, there's the rub" as that other Prince of Denmark remarked. How can King possibly trust that there will not be/ensure it does not happen?
