  1. To misquote a relatively obscure Bob Dylan title: "hope is just a four letter word", back in the day: Seems like only yesterday I left my woes behind Down in Paisley Road West With a friend of a friend of mine We sat with great expectancy Sang songs, most free from slavery With eyes that showed no trace of misery A phrase in connection first that day I heard That hope is just a four letter word
  2. Zappa, thought provoking as ever and many good points but I am afraid I do not agree with this: "We might not be in a good position right now, but essentially, nothing has changed" A lot has changed, 70 million has been raised and lost. We are a bigger joke/larger embarrassment/more tainted brand than we were before, than we would have been had we rebuilt on a steady foundation and shown we had learnt from our mistakes and now had a board everyone inside and outside the club could trust. We did the opposite and now people who gave money before may hesitate/not have any more to give the next time. I think we've lost thousands of fans too..but I hope I am wrong on that score.
  3. Rangers Ladies ‏@RFC_Ladies 38s FT Celtic 0-4 Rangers. Goals from Cunningham, Mulvey (2) and Cuthbert
  4. In the male game, Northern Ireland win 2-1 in Hungary after going 1-0 down on 75 minutes
  5. Rangers Ladies ‏@RFC_Ladies 45s Goal! Cuthbert scores number 4 for the Gers. Celtic 0-4 Rangers 75'
  6. I know a thread on this may be a bit OTT, but we need something to cheer, so: "Rangers Ladies ‏@RFC_Ladies 1m Goal! Mulvey makes it Celtic 0-3 Rangers. 69 minutes played"
  7. I did not know that forlansister - is it commonly known?
  8. During the same time we were told over 100 Sports Direct placards (or some advertising item) were delivered to Ibrox. Too much for it all to be coincidence but some of the things might have been just happening at the same time - though not all. Oh to have heard what Ashley said to Easdale. Or perhaps not, I can hardly sleep at nights as it is....
  9. I know you are being sarcastic but if that doesn't happen then at best we'll be like Leeds but within a country that detests us far more than the dislike so many held for the Revie era Leeds. Most pundits and even opposing fans genuinely want to see Leeds in good hands. Will never happen with us, each parcel of rogues that takes over will do so with official and popular support.
  10. Even if they are the same thing will 'give' a month later if the proceeds from their payments are continually stolen by the so called custodians f the club
  11. "A turbulent week at Ibrox has put the club's future once again at risk. RANGERS face an instant SPFL disciplinary investigation if they fail to pay their players and coaching staff at the end of the month, it was revealed last night. Former director Imran Ahmad’s court victory on Friday, freezing £620,000 of the club’s dwindling £1.2million cash reserves, leaves the beleaguered Gers board struggling to make payroll. Now, if they default, rules introduced two years ago on the back of Hearts’ problems leave them no wriggle room. The potential punishments only apply to the club defaulting on its football wages, not an administrative salaries they have. However with their staff due their cash in the bank on September 25, the last Thursday of the month, sources believe they could be cutting it neat with a monthly burden of around £700,000 to meet. Regulations E17 and E19, introduced by the old SPL and carried into the new SPFL rulebook, cover any breaches of remuneration to players, coaches and management. Any default will be hit by an instant registration embargo. They will also then be subject to disciplinary procedures, which allow the governing body sanctions ranging from a slap on the wrist to docked points to exclusion from the league. The Ibrox club’s hopes of avoiding that scenario now rest with the success of their forthcoming £4m share offer, although from that figure, they’ll have to deduct a six-figure sum for costs plus £1m to cover the loan given to them by businessman George Letham. Director Sandy Easdale claimed in our sister paper the Daily Record in midweek that he wouldn’t be calling in the £500,000 he had lent. However Mailsport understands Letham, who has already given the club one extension on the terms he agreed, which saw his loan fall due from season ticket money, is adamant he’ll now take what he is due because he would rather have his cash back than be left with the car park his money is secured against. Rangers also no longer have any regular retail income following their decision to outsource that branch of their business to Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct, a move revealed earlier this week when 51 staff from their stores were TUPE’d acros to the the billionaire’s company payroll. It’s believed that although SFA rules prevent the Newcastle United owner extending his shareholding in the club, he could yet bail them out with loan payments to tide them through the coming months. The potential cost of those, both financially and to the club’s powerbase, is still unclear." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-rangers-face-immediate-spfl-4177789? Comment: I realize it may be scaremongering and "the Mailsport understands" sounds almost like "We hope...". It is all so familiar, sadly, this kind of communique
  12. An altruistic gunslinger with a heart of gold beneath his tough exterior. Why did Hollywood never think of that?!
  13. I have done since I joined, though it is a slightly longer sentence that leads to that dreaded stomach-clenching and possibly stomach-clearing feeling in my case. Namely: " I click on my favourite with a fear ........ "what now" I think as my browser loads....and why will I have to read yet again the same lovers of Rangers' destroyers defending the latest outrage, and posting support for the evil perpetrators or nit-picking and diverting the outrage from real fans bemoaning their clubs destruction". And then I ask myself why the hell do we have to go this endless charade with every Wig manifestation on a so-called Rangers' fan site? And then I ask myself, why the hell do you keep hoping for change when the same pro Whyte/Green/Easdale (and therefore anti SOS/RangersFirst /BuyRangers/HelpRangers/ RITD/ anything with people supporting Rangers in it ) are always allowed a platform here. Even people who are known to have deliberately or be deliberately destabilising ventures to help the club. Debate is healthy - pro-Whyte, Pro-Green and endlessly pro their subsidiaries is not healthy, it is not a difficult concept with owners going back to 88 who "own" Rangers using none of their own money and bleed us, the fans, dry. It is obvious what is happening. Here it is in a nutshell: " Fool me once, I'm stupid, Fool me twice I'm a retard, Fool me the third, fourth, fifth time - I'm an online troll pretending to be even more retarded than I actually am and my life is so empty this virtual charade of winding up Bears is all I have...") And then I go away for a while but since I cannot trust the mainstream press, and other Rangers web sites are even worse , I come back. Then I have to read the same perpetrators with their same agenda on every important thread (bar games, obviously) and I write something like this - anguishedly heartfelt, if truth be told - and go away again for a spell. repeat repeat repeat
  14. According to Esadale Ashley has had the right to rename it for 18 months and can do so any day he wishes to.....which I presume is a warning that it is coming up soon, probably will be done over the international break.
  15. No, you are not. He does not command his six yard box far less his area. Which is not to say he isn't the best we have (unless a youth is outstanding for his age). I would have fancied Bell not to concede that goal from Clyde.
  16. I wonder if this document is connected/was the same as the Daily Rhebel piece this morning re HMRC and Whyte (see separate thread), though as Chris Graham has said there are more attacks on HMRC to follow then it could be one of them, I guess.
  17. Lifted from Follow Follow Posted by glasgowiron I've got it in front of me, HMRC had been chasing Whyte for a while as he had been filing unsatisfactory tax returns and at one point he claimed he was worth £24. He then gave Ticketus a guarantee that he had a personal fortune of £33m which was passed onto HMRC who then hit him with a bill of £3.74m on the £33m. They then let him buy Rangers and run up another £15m in unpaid taxes before admin. The total sum of Alistair Johnston's 'interview' is "On the back of this, I would welcome a full scale independent investigation into the actions of HMRC around the Rangers issue". Interestingly,Chris Graham has claimed this is the first of a few hits to be landed on HMRC

    Manager, you mean?
  19. It may turn out to be an attempted payback for Operation Tango or disappointingly a damp squib but the possibilities behind the statement here are tantalising, to put it mildly: http://www.vanguardbears.co.uk
  20. Well written and sound piece, Frankie. I'd take issue with this bit though: "However, I’m sure the manager himself would be the first to admit, neither have we been overly inspiring. " He has consistently and unwaveringly claimed the very opposite. The truly terrifying thing is that he thinks he has got it right on the pitch. After the Raith debacle he claimed, in all seriousness (though it made one think of homes for the mentally challenged) that we'd many more good days than bad days in the last two years, for all the world as though we had been in leagues with teams of equal resources. And time and again he's rubbished the idea - as have our players - that we play horrible football.
  21. I think there would have been a split and both would have happened. Knowing us those two would then further fragment and a handful of sides would exist all claiming to be the real Rangers and all hating each other and arguing via dedicated and heavily infiltrated bespoke forums.
  22. According to posters on previous threads on Follow Follow, the hosts are paying for everything
