  1. Of course we are, what an odd question post 2012
  2. It makes a nice thread as it stands
  3. Exactly so. I keep reading about "55". We won't be allowed to win that unless everything in Scottish football and society changes. The vested interests running the game would never allow it. We are already used to suspensions for nothing (Halliday) even in the lower tier and video evidence used only against us (last few premier campaigns). that's nothing to what it is coming. If we get ahead in the table expect point deduction for "the wearing of blue and/or a forename of "Billy". Refs would be attacked every time we won an important match until they were too terrified to do anything other than hand the game to our opponents. If we survived all that, the yahoos and sheep would simply riot and bring the game to a standstill
  4. Thanks for posting this, Ian, it is a good read.
  5. "IMO it's next to unwatchable for more than 10 minutes" that's true of most men's football too, especially in Scotland
  6. Can't win on the pitch so have to work off it. It has earned them multi millions by getting into qualifiers in Euro Champs league and getting into group stages despite being hammered in the actual games.
  7. I've been away from Glasgow and it's East End club for so long that I never thought of it that way.
  8. There were times I'd have taken a 7 year old
  9. https://footballtaxhavens.wordpress.com/2016/05/25/fares-unbiased-observers-two-uefa-journalists-on-the-ground-for-the-game-at-psv-in-2011-were-celtic-fans/ "FARE has never declared any transparency as to who was their ‘unbiased’ observer who reported Rangers to UEFA Without FARE declaring who he/they were their ‘unbiasedness’ cannot be verified. However we can verify that two UEFA reporters, both Celtic fans, were on the ground in Eindhoven, one of which reported for UEFA just prior to the game and the other one reported for UEFA on the actual game itself. Funny that that game would attract 2 Celtic supporting UEFA journalists. They are: Alex O’Henley, a Scottish UEFA reporter well known to Rangers fans as a friend of the bigot ‘tarred with a sickening sectarian brush’ Phil, and Derek Brookman, a Scottish UEFA reporter resident in The Netherlands"
  10. It is a great deal of money. Not enough to keep Barton down there though
  11. And it is going up a lot next season, is it not?
  12. Oh I'm not confident at all, I just think that maybe too many saw what really happened for our enemies to spin it all the way. There have been some detailed reports of the assaults on our players. To a large degree, though, he who controls the video controls the story....
  13. The more of it that accumulates the better, though. It might become an un-ignorable mountain in time. We should collate every example.
  14. This certainly reads like made up shit: Sports correspondent for @ForestEchoNews. Manchester United supporter. Father of two. Thatcherite. Feminist. Atheist. Firm believer in Jesus Christ.
  15. I'd love to share your belief. I share your wishes and hopes though I suspect a British League would still find as beset by haters from Scotland. Still it would be numerically fewer of the bassas.
  16. Did she explain why over exuberance led to assault or it it just "if a Ranges shirt hasn;t cleared the pitch by sprinting off they deserve to be beaten up"? We need to get out of Scotland! (I know, we can't, but....)
  17. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/14509436.Ugly_scenes_spoil_Hibs_celebrations_but_not_their_mood_after_historic_cup_win/ Disgraceful stuff in these quotes, just shocking (or would be in any other context bar Rangers in Scotland.)
  18. It was ever thus. "Hate the Crown, love the half crown" as the saying has it.
  19. Hi JfK - 1, I know who is perpetuating and I know all about how their songs and attitudes would appal (Though yours be surprised at how many would defend them). I was only talking about us and that they don't understand why what these see as historical issuess are still potent in Scotland. As for Billy Boys, only one line is well known, I'm afraid, and it is often used to bash us over the head.
  20. Perhaps, but we'd have to change many of our ways. Any and every song referring to Ulster would provoke condemnation in the media. They'd simply not stand for it and we all know that there are Rangers haters in prime positions to keep highlighting it. Bigot factories are not a way of life down here, and nearly everyone thinks the Catholic/Protestant stuff in Scottish football to be ludicrous and dangerous baggage from centuries ago. When you explain the educational set-up they are absolutely stunned - understandably - it is just not something they are used to and the whole area is a poison that they wouldn't want to import. Supporting Britain, yes, but things like the Sash, BMG far less mentions of UVF and Bobby Sands just wouldn't be tolerated. I'm not posting this to start a debate on what songs are acceptable or not but rather to point out that tthe whole notion of acceptability would change of of all recognition were we to move and it would take a massive shift from our fans. No point in giving me stick for saying this, it's just my observations having lived 20 odd years in Scotland and thirty in England.
  21. Is it paranoid to suggest had the teams and fans been reversed they would have already been very voluble?
  22. English's twitter complaint reported here but he's made to look a complete prat given the photos. Just look at the one at the foot of this page, surely an arrest has to follow
