  1. I find it quite incredible that after all we have been through, after the amount of charlatans that have robbed us, still there is 'fans' making excuses for them.
  2. The font isn't small? windows key and + will help you though...
  3. I can't stand Daly and want rid of him but I rarely notice Shiels at all when he's on the pitch.
  4. Button it Ryan
  5. Shiels is a waste of a jersey, same with Aird. Ally has coached the ability out of Shiels.
  6. More certainly not. Generally if you renege on a statement of fact of such crucial importance in a business environment, you have told a lie. You have a strange way of looking at things. Why? What have they done to deserve this?
  7. 4-1-4-1 is the likeliest option. The old Craig Brown Scotland formation that struck fears into the hearts of so many. Throw a centre half in front of the back 4 for extra security and hope for the best.
  8. 5-4-1, you heard it here first. It's not even a real formation, it's parking the bus in fear.
  9. Absolutely no width whatsoever. We would just end up playing centrally, very predictable and would resort to long ball tactics. There's also no chance we will play a formation with as few defensive players as that. I would expect to see at least 5 defenders (including Smith) and three or four midfielders (eg Black, Hutton etc). There's a lot to be said for playing players in their correct position and just playing a balanced team whether it is 4-2-3-1, 4-5-1 (becoming a 4-3-3 in possession/ or a 4-4-2. I think we are better with a 4-4-2 because we play far too negatively with 1 striker and provide no support. 4-4-2 might be a thing of the past but so is Scottish football. Long term under a different manager I would like to see us playing a 4-2-3-1. PS - Getting McCulloch away from the starting lineup should be a priority.
  10. Finally we agree on something
  11. It will likely be 4-5-1, though don't discount 5-4-1.
  12. Not to mentioned the unwatchable football all season. Year after year of atrocious football, sick of it.
  13. Calscot, I'm still waiting for you to explain who said we should be as good as Celtic in the cups. Also interested in who on earth is 'bemoaning that Bayern don't play as bad football as us'. Or are you just making up things to get a reaction.
  14. SAF isn't fit to lick Mourinho's boots. Man Utd have had a very poor team for years and have only had success domestically when the rest have been poor. In 10/11 Man Utd won the league despite failing to win 14 of their 19 away games. Chelsea were in freefall that year ever since the Sunderland defeat at home and Man Utd won by default. I'm not saying he wasn't a good manager, but he signed far too many poor players to be considered among the elite like Mourinho. His European performance was nowhere near as good. The most impressive thing SAF did was winning the Cup Winners Cup with Aberdeen.
  15. Champions of Europe, we've done it before! Jose Mourinho - the greatest of all time.
  16. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas
  17. Come up against many SPL teams in recent years too, although it's got much worse. I know Scottish football is very poor, but plenty teams pass the ball about far, far better than we do. They just don't have the same individual quality and fitness. Celtic seem to have had a lot of success post MON playing the passing game, something conveniently forgotten about on here.
  18. Again mentioning Bayern! What planet do you live on? You don't even watch our games. The reason we don't play good football is because we have a useless manager incapable of implementing it, end of story.
  19. This is so ironic, given you know absolutely nothing about the subject whatsoever. 1. As I have previously pointed out, the old firm always win due to their vastly superior resources. Even if we did play very poor football, we won in spite of that due to having vastly superior players, players often earning £20k + per week against players struggling to earn a grand a week. WInning trophies playing poor football does not equate to winning trophies BECAUSE you play poor football 2. Players like Templeton, Macleod, Law, Shiels etc are not good enough to play a simple pass and move game? Absolute nonsense. If our dire tactics 'clearly are the right tactic', why do we continually get embarrassed in cups. Why on earth would frequently losing possession be a better tactic than intelligently maintaining it? Route 1 football is never the superior tactic at any level whatsoever. If you watched more football you might get a grasp of this. We illustrated against Dundermline at Ibrox 2 or 3 months ago that our players are very capable of playing a decent passing game. 3. He has plenty resources to be playing watchable football in part-time leagues. He has the second best squad of players in Scotland but they struggle to scrape two passes together. These teams find a way to not resort to basic, mind numbing route 1 football to win. We illustrated against Dundermline at Ibrox 2 or 3 months ago that our players are very capable of playing a decent passing game. 4. Upper SPL still means they should be wiping the floor with any lower league sides. 5. Do Scottish teams not try and get physical with Celtic, how do they manage to cope? Do little teams all over the world not try and stifle out the bigger clubs through strong tactics? It happens in big leagues too. You're away with the fairies.
  20. Who said we should be as good as Celtic in the cups? Stop making things up Another point is Bayern don't play as bad as us? You're at the windup, you have to be.
  21. In reference to your previous points. SPL teams don't win league titles because they have far less resources than the old firm. Simple as that. I don't watch any SPL games but in Walter's second stint, plus our first season under Ally, we were regularly out passed by SPL teams. In fact I remember a particular spell under Walter where week in week out we were getting played off the park and struggling to get victories. We don't have any option other than route 1 football? Please explain that ridiculous line of thinking. At any level of football it is possible to play correctly. Simple pass and move. Nobody is expecting anything great but if half decent kids teams can do it, there's no excuse for a group of professionals resorting to horrific, moronic route 1 tactics. All it shows is a lack of ideas and intelligence. It's not my fault there is no scouting network, it is the club's fault. Many of us have been shouting for over 10 years to get a proper scouting network in place, along with an overhaul of the rest of the archaic infrastructure at the club. The only long term scout we seem to have had is Ewan Chester over two stints and he is completely useless. Our players are not vastly superior? Well yes they are. Our players are upper SPL players playing against part-timers in the third tier. Wake up. You honestly seem to think that playing route 1 football somehow gets success in the Scottish game, as if the same collection of players playing an intelligent passing game would somehow be inferior, when in reality they would be vastly superior. Absolutely clueless.
  22. How do SPL teams play half decent football then? I agree with some of what you are saying but our manager should be easily capable of playing half decent, or even just watchable football. Your previous point about requiring to play route 1 football to succeed in Scotland is absolute nonsense. We also, believe it or not, do not just have to sign Scottish players. We can sign players from anywhere. PS - We still have vastly superior players to the opposition. We aren't even playing against proper footballers. Your view point is typically Scottish and so negative. Basically saying we are shite, can't aspire to anything and may as well just lump the ball up the park. Even though that is never the best policy and the best we have played in recent years was the tail end of the 10/11 season where we passed and moved with pace and played quality stuff. The tims seem to win trophies keeping the ball on the deck. Aberdeen won a trophy this season.
  23. You're speaking nonsense! In Walter's first stint we weren't playing total football but we largely kept the ball on the deck and often played fairly decent stuff 'domestically', difficult not to with the likes of Laudrup and Gazza. Why doesn't it work in Scotland? Did it not work originally under Advocaat? Did it not work in 02/03 with Advocaat's players? Across history has a plethora of route 1 teams been the success stories in Scottish football? Or has it been teams featuring the best players that have generally won? For the avoidance of doubt, we have not won the majority of our trophies in our illustrious history playing route 1 football. I wasn't Walter's biggest fan by any means but he's 10 times the manager Ally will ever be. 'The style needed to win in Scotland'. fuck me
