  1. True, but don't equate signing some big name from Europe as necessarily a good thing ..... how many times did we sign people with big reputations (Capucho, etc) who turned out to be total donkeys in the Scottish game, whilst people signed for next to nothing from Scottish clubs (like big Marv) were a success in our league I'd much rather see us concentrate on getting young Scottish players in who want to play for our club, rather than some uninterested donkey from abroad!
  2. Aye, such a talented player, but he seems to hide too much ..... might just be one of these players who struggles through his entire career despite having so much skill and promise
  3. That would be the same midfield that Fergie and co were streets ahead of in the old firm game a few weeks back? Gravesen is an utter donkey to be brutally honest .... i thought Adam was slow, but he looks like a 100m sprinter next to Gravesen!
  4. I was thinking that too ..... it will just give the papers another reason to write bollocks about Rangers!!
  5. I agreed with most of what Ascender wrote too, apart from the 'feeling sorry for Le Guen' part I dont feel sorry for him at all .... from what i witnessed of his stint in charge, he just hadn't prepared himself at all for Scottish football, and strolled in with some typical french arrogance, ignoring a lot of Scottish and Rangers traditions along the way. He really didn't do his homework, and if someone came in for a job interview without preparing, would you feel sorry for them if they didn't get the job and/or failed in it? Nope, so that is my take on it!
  6. Selling Sebo might be an option to raise funds to strengthen areas that need it, but we do have to remember that we will need to strengthen up front in the summer too when Prso goes
  7. Exactly the way i see things! This was brewing long before the Fergie incident!
  8. I would certainly say that despite the odd slip, McGregor is definitely well worth the number 1 jersey, he has been excellent and saved us on many occasions .... we do need back up, and if Klos is away, then maybe ok, keep Letizi, but to be honest i'd prefer Broxi Bear in goals than him!!
  9. Never really been a big Quashie fan i have to say! Funny thing about Smith, is that one of my criticisms of him (and there are few!) during his first spell is that he seldom gave youth a chance, in fact had he not left after our 10 in a row attempt, we may never have seen Fergie get the real chance he did under Advocaat Now though, with the scotland setup, he has done well with the crop of younger Scottish players ...... lets hope he keeps that frame of mind if he is coming back to Ibrox
  10. I'd second that If McCoist is there, then you have to give Sebo till the summer ..... the first couple of starts (and there haven't been many) i've seen Sebo, i thought he looked good, made all the right runs, etc, and was just damn unlucky ... after that it became clear he was just trying too hard! McCoist should take him to one side, and work with him, and also let him get some games and goals under his belt in the reserves. Remember, we have to replace Prso in the summer, so let's see what Sebo can really do (same goes for the majority of our buys - with the exception of Letizi and Sionko, i'll take them home personally!)
  11. That's been my view from the start, but like you say, we will never really know the truth ... and if PLG was to walk into a new job next week, it would just make my doubts grow as to who was to blame!
  12. Have to admit, i've been wondering just who WAS lining up signings such as Webster, plus like you say, this whole issue of who will take over 'appears' to be cut and dried, almost like it was pre-planned!
  13. If he does go on to be a success back in france, that doesn't necessarily mean we were wrong, mate! He may never have adjusted to our game, he certainly didn't seem to have done any research on it at all, nor did he have any time for it's traditions!
  14. I agree, plus i still think Svensson could make the grade with the right support To be honest, if Clement wanted to follow Le Guen, id take the cash and give Hemdani his opportunity in the middle again
  15. Interesting about the 'sacking' bit .... PLG did give the idea that maybe he and Murray HADNT discussed what he planned to do with Fergie - at first i thought it may have been his command of English, but maybe he wasn't telling us the whole truth!
  16. An all-Scottish team ....... never thought i'd see that day again!!!
  17. Damn .... and i was just gonna type '...... far far away' Humph, spoiling my fun
  18. LOL! he's been so anonymous that i forgot about him when i wrote the list!
  19. Not to discuss the quality of them all, but what kind of future do you think these guys will have now? I have to say despite his problems, i still see Svennson turning it around and coming good, but he does need somone who knows the Scottish game in that back four beside him Letizi can go tomorrow, i will drive him home myself Sionko is another one who i would try to get shot of ..... just hasn't done anything for us Clement im 50/50 over ... since PLG is his biggest fan, i wonder how long he will want to hang around, but despite some good performances at times, he has totally lacked the consistency, and i felt Hemdani played his role better before being moved to defence Sebo ..... well, i'm actually 50/50 over this one too!!! (believe it or not!!) I would still like to see what would happen if he got a goal or two, although i'm not prepared to wait till 2020 to see that! Some of the other fringe players he bought might find themselves still out in the cold too So, views ..... what future for these guys?
  20. How long do you think Clement will want to hang around now? Being honest, i wouldn't lament him going too much either .... although the best of PLG's signings, he hasn't really done enough for my liking either - is he much better than hemdami (our best midfielder in the early part of the season) was in that position?
  21. Aye ...... good point .... we wouldn't maybe in this situation had they kept Klos as captain (as they should have!) Gavin Rae must be despondent .... he might be back up for sale again
  22. To certainly help diffuse the current situation, i'd give the captaincy to Prso for the rest of his time here
  23. My god, Cammy ..... that's a belter! .... and here was me just thinking that PLG wanted out, and this gave him the opportunity to stick the knife in the back of a player who he doesn't like (Barry!) on the way out!
  24. I think that may well have had the biggest part in it all! DM had a choice .... take a risk with giving PLG some more cash, or calling of the whole 'le revolution' and starting anew ..... he chose the former - The Fergie incident may well be a nice cover story for everything that went on, but you can bet it wasn't the only (or even the main) thing behind it It says that PLG informed DM of what he was going to do with Fergie .... for all we know DM might have though immediately after he put the phone down - 'i have my chance' Let's face it, it has been a convenient episode for all! We will more than likely never know!
  25. Be interesting to see if PLG walks into a new job in the next few days or weeks!
