A small glimmer of hope but interesting that you highlight that rbr, because one of the pundits on Radio Clyde, Darrell King I think, who has long suggested that he has seen proof of the existence of these 'side letters' which allegedly supplemented the players contracts in respect of EBTs, was denying that he had actually seen any during the week. Basically he was asked further about it and backtracked rapdil

I heard a suggestion, possibly on the radio, that Rangers' former lawyers withheld certain information to the SFA. Murkier and murkier.
-
Agreed. Playing players out of position and the lack of tactical structure to our play have been worrying me too.
-
Well, we know he has experience in football, in the media, as a Chief Executive, as an agent, and in running other businesses. I'm sure he's acquired a number of skills along the way. My argument being, that whatever they are, Whyte has basically used him as a puppet to appease the fans and to put on the appearance of professionalism and credibility. The interview with him that was on SSN the other day said it all for me. Whyte has been keeping him as much in the dark as everyone else.
-
Off the pitch he has been a collosus. On the pitch, this season has been a car crash waiting to happen from quite early on. We were lucky that Celtic stuttered at the start of the season but once they got into their stride, all of the frailties of our squad have been exposed. Regularly. I'm loathe to criticise Ally too much though. It is evident that any real attempts to strengthen his squad (aside from tying up some players on long-term deals) have been thwarted by Whyte and he has been forced to bring in some bit part squad fillers who are not good enough - or, at least don't appear to be (Aluko excepted).
-
As much as there is an argument for his skills not being utilised to their greatest effect, I suspect Whyte has used Smith as a puppet. Not the way we treat people. Not the Rangers way.
-
It showed. The manner of our transfer dealings appeared to be naieve and/or stupid. However, given now that we have more of an understanding of the scheming of Whyte, it really wasn't naievete at all. It was just a case of trying to put on a professional front
-
I had asked him about it earlier in the day and his reply was to say they were trying to find out.

Like I just said on Twitter Danny, Alistair Lamont tweeted the following yesterday: "On my way to Murray Park for Ally McCoist news conf. BBC given permission to attend"

Thoughts on what I have read about the Admininstrator's press conference: Whyte is fecked. And, quite frankly, good riddance. The signs were there all along but any benefit of the doubt extended to him has been well and truly recinded due to the shady way he operates. -

Cheers for the updates BlueMazza. Been a while since we've had a regular female poster. Has anyone told you about Wija or the totty thread? -
Has Rangers become just another immoral company?

Its idealistic and also unrealistic but we can only hope any future ownership structure seeks to reimburse all outstanding creditors. -
I was prePared to give Whyte some slack until I saw him play his hand. At least now in administration we might get some clarity. However, I am very uneasy about the non-payment of taxes that we don't, on the face of it, actually have any problem in paying. We didn't have any problems paying them pre-takeover, at least. Then, as bluebell as set out, he has blatantly lied to us. I'm still all over the place in what I think but right now I'm leaning towards Whyte being a charlatan and that we will be better off without him.

There is twitter chatter that SDM is due to speak publicly today. Can we really cope with a moonbeam intervention?
-
I don't think its a coincidence, put it that way.
-
Those old chestnuts? Jeez!
-
Agreed. And that was my first thought - i.e. in the hope we can secure European football for next season on the assumption that this game of poker can be resolved before 31 March. To continue the analogy, its like we've gone all in pre-flop with a rag-ace against a pair of kings.
-
Today has been almost a complete write-off since about 3pm. We knew something like this was coming, but I for one didn't think it was coming quite this quickly. One thing I can't get my head around the fact we've re-signed Daniel Cousin. If we're giving him somewhere between 7.5k and 12.5k per weeek for the next 10 weeks, but end up sacking a bunch of people from the club, that really will be a tough one to swallow. I also am not totally clear on what has changed in the last week or two. Yes I understand that they want to resolve things sooner rather than later, but from a football perspective we had a decent performance at the weekend, albeit against the league's worst time, had a striker coming on board to help put pressure on Celtic, and suddenly we have a glimmer of hope to cling to. That rug has been well and truly pulled from beneath us now.

No, sorry. I don't know one way or the other. I was speaking hypothetically. -

Its not a trival sum, for sure. And I agree some clarity on this and other issues would be welcome. I say playing around the edges because we could get that clarity tomorrow, but then on Monday the tax tribunal outcome is known and the game changes altogether. -

All good questions. -

Sure, clarity is needed. But we wont have any until the tax tribunal reaches its verdict and until that is known, all of this is just playing around the edges.
