No not for me and its not because of what he said when he left either. I just want to emphasise that Rangers is not a retirement home for old players. That may seem slightly ironic since Bruno Alves, Kenny Miller and Clint Hill(from last season) are in the twilight of their careers. Clint was arguably our best performer last season, Kenny did enough for the fans to ensure another year contract and Bruno is quite clearly still an exceptional player who has played at the highest level of football. I know, I know he's only 30 but still I think he's past it because Naismith on the other hand hasn't really done much in the last year or more albeit with what was thought to be a mid table EPL team which turns out they weren't and were relegated back to the Championship from whence they came. He was signed by the Canaries in the Jan window of 2016 and started brightly but ultimately he was a flop with them. He's been wearing out the seat of his shorts on the bench since. So no thanks I think we could find someone less controversial, younger with fresher legs and perhaps more of a prospect. When ever there is a difficult moment or a position needs filled the Rangers support often site old players or people who have previous connections with the club... it needs to stop! Its time the Rangers support stood on its own two feet and stopped running back to our Da for help.

This is the second official statement I've seen in as many days from this guy... 'General Secretary'? I read up to eight words at the beginning of it and that was more than enough for me. It is littered, literally, with schoolboy errors ranging from the classic grammar to glaring spelling mistakes. Grammatical errors one could permit some leeway but what chance has Sherlock O'Rourke here got of spotting/identifying anything untoward if he cant even spot that that is not the correct usage of the word 'Your' in the very first sentence? I once heard a wise man say to another.... Gee it a rest son!

This is what I like about two different folk watching a game. they both have very different opinons about what they watched. I thought Marseille looked much fitter, faster, quicker in the head and on the floor than us for 60-65 minutes of the game. While Alves was playing they were reduced to playing in front of our defence and mopped up by our holding players in mid field. Once he went off they were able to use their wider men better to penetrate. Alves covered and organised the back line so that they couldnt do that and we missed it when he went off. As far as an attacking force is concerned I though we created enough chances by the 60-65 min mark to win the game. Miller... I agree about Miller as he just looks completely out of place in that team his touch is dreadful and he offers absolutely nothing on the left. Niko and Dorrans were having to take turns in being where he was supposed to be. Wallace has lost a bit of pace and so his crossing was always covered meaning it mostly hit the first man repeatedly but thats OK for now as we need a natural wide left player out there who can help create space for Wallace to over/under lap and we'll get good use out of him. On the other side Candelias and Tav are beginning to work there was some really nice intricate passages of play between the two of them out there today (in patches). He's got more than enough ability to tear defences apart in the SPFL as far as thats concerned I have no doubt. With a Herrera and Moreloes pairing making opposing runs late or early into the box thats got goals written all over it for me... but we didn't have that today with them both on at the same time we had Miller... shesh.

The core of their team has been but like us they have 4-5 new signings that they are trying to bed in too. mind you there is no doubt they are a good team.

I'd prefer to see Morelos Herrera up top in the 4-4-2 because Miller offered me nothing other than running about like a headless chicken.

At the final whistle its been a fair enough display... a few areas we need to improve in fitness wise but the team looks to be combining well and gaining a bit of understanding. I prefer us when we are pressing high but when we drop off a bit we leave the opposition a bit of space to spray the ball around.

It is telling TB that Alves leaves the field and his replacement cant cover the work he was doing. We're also looking a little disjointed Def to Mid on that side leaving the right mids to cover Cardoso has had to push out to protect Tav and thats where the cross comes from.

We've had 4-5 chances/half chances and a couple of shots form outside the box... theres been no through on goal kind of chances I agree but we have had chances.

What I will say though is that with both Miller and Niko in the team it feels like we are a man down. Niko hasn't the shunts to work box to box (Pena?) with others distributing in the middle of the park we look ok there even when Niko isnt on the ball. I expevt to see Pena and Morelos come out for the second half.

We've got plenty of penetration we're creating chances and half chances. If we're not doing that then I'm worried but we are so eventually it will click.

He's getting some joy down the right wing and he's looking a lot better than he did in the last two games I seen him play in.

Yep we keep finding Miller at the edge of the centre circle and his distribution has been woeful.

Alves is also looking dangerous at set plays.

Niko looks 2 yards slow in this setting for me.
