  1. Is Jonatan not the current assistant manager with Finland? In saying that though I think its a good appointment he's got plenty of experience of the Scottish game having played with us Hibs and St Johnstone and as far as I can remember he's also been involved in the coaching side of the game with a few other teams too Morton and Motherwell etc. I seen some clowns going on about him not being local but as per usual if you weren't born in the UK then your not local according to these mouth breathers, all that, in spite of the fact that he's marrierd to a lass from Port Glasgow and been living and working here most of the last 20 years.
  2. Just back in from the game. First half we were very poor on the ball and off it. There didn't seem to be any type of pressure on the ball when we lost possession to get it back. The midfield got bullied heavily in that first 45 mins but in fairness to them many of those challenges were fouls which the referee had decided were perfectly acceptable. Needles to say the first strong tackle from a blue Gersy resulted in a booking. That pretty much sums up the first half of the game. Second half followed more or less the same pattern With many unchecked challenges, lunges and fresh air swipes etc left unfettered by the referee or his assistants whom offered very little in terms of calling any decision correctly. We need to be much tougher in these types of games but at the same time it would be nice to have official from the middle of the park and running the lines who knew what they were doing.
  3. Good write up overall Coop but I do have one issue with it. It was Sunday we played last week not Saturday.
  4. You're right it indicates that those are words that have been added and are not necessarily part of the original quote.
  5. Aye! We're supposed to be 9 points behind but with things going against the grain in todays draw... things aren't quite going to plan for some folk.
  6. Great quick response from the stewards/police there charging to the front of the Rangers section. I mean you canny be too careful with a couple of thousand Rangers fans celebrating a late goal at the piggery in a tight match now can you. If that's the response when there are so few of us what's the Semi final going to be like if we go a goal or two up in the last 5 minutes?
  7. From what I remember Alfie was outstanding that day bare in mind I've a bit of a romantic view of following the Rangers back then as I was only 10 also was the first game I ever knowingly seen my Da drunk at. . I'm sure that season they were going for a treble. As far as they were concerned it was a foregone conclusion but Hibs beat us in the League Cup Semi and beat them 2-1 in the final and that was the end of the double/treble talk. They also lost to Craigs Dundee in the final of the League cup the following year. EDIT: Just so I know I'm no havering that was the winter of discontent with all the power cuts etc?
  8. Aye Calemero often did and what was Alfie Conn thinking about trying to get in the road of Tams open goal?
  9. One of my favourites 6 inch out banged into the back of the pokey with the studs. Mind you I reckon Vanvossen might have missed that.
  10. This one mate? [video=youtube;Bj68CHlqFko?t=1m47s] Dont know whats happened here I couldn't get it to start and play at the right time... 1min 47secs
  11. You know what? Quite frankly I find threads like this and the fact that hardly any Rangers supporters have a clue what a DOF is or what it is they do extremely embarrassing. A DOF is supposed to be there to insure that the football club maintains a consistent footballing philosophy and standard throughout its entire structure. From the 7-8 year old youth teams right through to the senior first XI. It is in fact really the only failing I place with Warburton solely. Reading between the lines I have the distinct feeling that he was supposed to implement a DOF to carry out the tasks that he started when he introduced the consistent footballing philosophy of attacking 4-3-3 across all our teams. Instead he appointed Frank McParland in a jobs for the boys move that in my opinion made a mockery of what he was hired for. I don't care what Walter, Barry or Ally have to say about a DOF being appointed at a club they were involved in. Where is their footballing philosophy? The only one I can truly comment on is Walter as no matter how negative it was he did actually have a footballing philosophy. The other two are too busy shovelling pies and champagne into their ain gubs to be listed to with even the slightest credence..
  12. Lets just get Hamilton out the way next week first though?
  13. What a game that was. At times we didn't close down their space in the middle of the park quick enough and they looked pretty strong but in the dangerous areas we controlled pretty much everything they had to offer. At one point it seemed to me that any Rangers challenge was a yellow card. My call before the game was just be difficult to beat and thats exactly what we were. If Waghorns finishing had been better we could have seriously embarrassed them today. I never thought I'd celebrate a draw against that mob but I'm one happy bear this afternoon. WATP
  14. Rodgers will go with his consistent 4-3-2-1 formation. The only question I might pose is who will he replace the injured Rogic with as he's used a number of different players there since Rogic got injured. From that its fairly straight forward to work out what has to be done against that system. From all the talk in both the media and outside of it I get the feeling that they are over confident. Therefore we have to make sure we are difficult to beat first and foremost! Its pivotal that a DMF sweeps anything their AMC's might attempt. In that sense it is vital that Toral not Halliday plays there (Torals placement is incidentally what I think has made all the difference to the team since Murty took over). Otherwise you have to push the defensive line right up to squeeze the space sandwiching the oppositions AMC's between our defence and midfield. As has been seen against Hearts we don't have the pacey defensive personnel, in my opinion, to play that high D-line without a DMF, I know we played with Halliday as DMF against Hearts but for me it was like playing without one as he cant play that position well, which again suggests its vital that Toral plays there. We will play a high D-line as we have for the last 18 months but not as high as we have in the last 3-4 games simply because of Sinclair's and Dembele's pace. Hodson may well be used as RB bringing Tav into midfield with Toral to replace the work rate of Holt who is a little lightweight for me in this fixture. Hyndman being the AMF option who has all the quality to break their lines. Waghorn on the RW tracking their LB and MacKay on the LW doing the same with their RB, Miller through the middle dropping into MF to congest the space further. Our goals if any will need to come from Waghorn and MacKay possibly Miller or Hyndman on the break. I would have to have something that looked like this. Foderingham Hodson - Senderos - Hill - Wallace Toral Tavernier - Hyndman Waghorn - Miller - MacKay
  15. Sutton referenced 10-2 which can in no way be redefined, as he has tried to, as a question about underachieving from the EPL. In keeping with his cowardly style he's taken a swipe at a team, and management, who are under massive pressure from the London media. Let there be no doubt about it its a deliberate kick at Wenger and Arsenal whom he is putting forward as the best England has to offer. Durham is correct in pointing out that Arsenal are not the best England has to offer, incidently nor have they been since the 2003-04 season. In fact Durham places Man City above Arsenal in the equation which looking at the stats of the previous 5 years is absolutely correct since City have won the EPL twice in that time to Arsenals none, City finishing 4th in the CL last year. He also states, relevantly, that CL is not over yet and that last years EPL champions Leicester City and indeed Man City are still in the competition. I don't find anything that Durham said contentious. Sutton on the other hand initially called the man a liar which he clearly isn't. Then being unsuccessful with that approach Sutton attempted to then say he had been misinterpreted which again he hadn't. Durham did well to not tell him to go take a flying F^*& to himself.
  16. All this guff about the quality of Pedro from people who have no idea who or what quality he has because essentially they've no clue about the guy in the first place... does my nut in. I don't care what this guy has achieved or where he has been. I only care about where he's going with us. If he is of similar quality to the previous Portuguese Pedro we had then that'll do for me. The difference is this Pedro wont get injured like the previous one who only played 8 games in his second season with us due to injury... but in saying that, his first season, as far as I'm concerned Mendes was outstanding!
  17. Too many pretty boys in this team draft in a Terry Hurlock or Davy Dodds sharpish then we'll be proper 80's ugly!
  18. As the full time manager I don't think he is a way forward an therefore in that position permanently I wouldn't have him no. Let me just add though that 80% of the players on show against us from ICT sitting as the bottom club in the league before tonight game were his signings.
  19. Thats probably a wise move on your part. As information becomes available then perhaps we can return to the arguments you cite and view them with fresh clarity.
  20. Big Jaws

    Rangers 2017

From what little I've seen from various types of footage of him interacting with the first team etc he comes across as a 'nice guy'. Of course there's nothing wrong with being a nice guy per se' but 'nice guys' are not exactly what we need right now in any department.
  21. I'll qualify my agreement with the proviso that Hodson hasn't impressed me either.
  22. I'm not saying you're wrong but I'll ask you again. Either proof your assertion or give it a rest. You can't simply state absolutes when you don't evidence them until then it remains one of many possible existential possibilities.
