I haven't seen the official match report but I have now seen it from another angle where you can clearly see what happened. He actually stops the ball on the ground before the line. Then he roles it back towards the line before picking it up. He has just misjudged it by a millimeter. The referee was on TV giving his version and he said he looked at his watch(receiver) after the first stop and it gave nothing on so he was actually ready to run up the field when the alarm went off. He actually never saw the keeper pulling it back that extra few inches until they showed him the TV replay. It is an own goal technically but I am not sure what the KNVB will decide.

This goal was given totally on the technology there was not one person in the stadium or even watching on telly thought it was a goal.

This is not really Rangers news but could be Rangers related in the future. First of all I will say that in Holland they are already using goai-line technology. I just watched Feynoord v PSV. It is about 80+\- minutes with the score locked at 1-1. A cross comes over in the PSV area and is headed goal wards by a Feynoord player. The keeper lying on the line saves the ball and pulls it safely to his chest. Nobody in the stadium thinks anything about it but all of a sudden the referee blows his whistle and points to the centre line and a goal is given. The referee points to his wrist where his goal warning alarm is placed saying the ball was over the line. Watching on TV it is not even visible but seemingly when the keeper pulled the ball into his chest he pulled it about 1mm over the line tripping the goal decision system. It really was a bazaar moment. Definitely something keepers will have to get used to in the future.

That is getting near to my favourites but I personally would have Willie Johnston or Davie Cooper in instead of Laudrup

Bobby Russel played a big part in our 2-3 defeat of PSV in Eindhoven if I remember correctly. That was the first time they had ever been defeated at home.

I don't really want to name a team as I think it is an age thing. I would say Tom Forsyth is the best defender I have seen but my father would say it was Willie Woodburn and you say Gough. Willie Henderson and even Tommy McLean left a bigger impression on me than Laudrup did but as I say I think that is age. I can't think of a better right back than Sandy Jardine in my time. Anyone seeing Willie Johnston buzzing down the left wing could never pick anyone else for that position. Neil McCann and Bobby McKean were also fantastic wingers but were they better or worse than Davie Cooper? I would also say Ian Durrant would have been one of the greatest Rangers players ever if he was not scythed down. On technical ability John Greig would never get into a best Rangers team but I have never seen anyone else with the heart that Greig had.I wish we had 11 of him today. In my eyes we had no better striker than Colin Stein but looking at Goals then McCoist outstrips everyone. If you take it down to goals per game then Marco Negri must be near our best ever striker. So many things to choose from and I can only say I have loved so many and I hope we get back to producing great players again.

Storm needed to to blow away Nessy- Inverness v Rangers match preview.

Sorry I was wrong he has come on as a sub for them a few times but as far as I can see he has never started. It still remains he will probably have 2 championship medals in a row. -
Nottingham must have asked Rangers for permission to speak to Warburton so the board must have known he was in talks with them.

Still not played for them yet but is almost a certainty to pick up his second, second Division title in 2 years as VVVare already as good as Champions. -

Bringing Garner on with 100 seconds left. What was that about. I wasn;t always in agreement with the 60 minute change but giving a striker 100 seconds in a game you need goals is a nonsense. -
It was in answer to post 7 from colin Stein. I forgot the Quote.

Can I just add to my last post that up until his death Johan Cruiff had a huge say and was the most respected voice in Dutch football, What Cruiff was for Ajax is Wim Jansen for Feynoord. When Celtic signed Wim Jansen as manager they were actually wanting Cruiff. It was Cruiff who turned the job down but recommended them to sign Jansen. Cruiff Jansen and Willem van Hanagem are still thought as the best technical brains behind Dutch football. The story also goes that Rinus Michels the Dutch and Ajax manager used to give team talks. After he left the dressing room Cruiff, Jansen,Israël and van Hanegam would then have another talk on the team tactics and how they would play.

Only as a youth trainer as far as I can see. He took over from Jol firstly as Interim manager and then manager. Johan Cruiff was the main reason Jol was kicked out of Ajax. Cruiff as with barcelona had a huge say in what went on at the club. He campaigned against Jol because he thought the club was in a mess under Jol's leadership.

I wrote before on here the troubles with FDB at Inter. He was asked to change the whole philosophy of the club to make them an attacking team. He had to do that without any pre-season and he had also inherited a team of veterans who were not open to change. Most were engulfed in the old Italian systems of football. That added to the fact he could not speak Italian also brought communication problems. If Frank also says he had off the field issues then that has to be added. I would forget that project from him as I don't think it is fair to judge his managerial skill on it.

Jol has got teams into Europe in the past but getting teams to the top is not his strong point. Frank de Boer took over Ajax after him and turned Ajax into league winners. Jol would not be my first choice.
-
I can only partially agree as I was really too young to remember him long at Rangers. I always said my father took me to Hull to see him when we were on Holiday down in England but on checking when he left Rangers I see it must have been Sunderland so that is how good my memory is.

Two players mate it is Willem van Hanegem and Rinus Israël and they were indeed in the 1970 EC cup win against the tims. Another from that team you may remember is Wim Jansen and you won't have forgot Ove Kindvall I think.
-
Very interesting times ahead off the field.
-
As I witnessed on a daily basis, Johan Cruiff, Willem van Hanegem, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, Dennis Bergkamp from when I was 22 then i am afraid Laudrup was nowhere near world class. World class in Scotland as I always say.

Female goalkeepers never look very good. They look in fact like Wuman.

It only takes a few tims to bet on him to make him a favourite. I wouldn't go on the betting odds they are too easy to change.
