  1. Just to clear up any mix-up it is not the whole stand that is standing but the bit behind the goal where you can see the people are closer together. It really is an electric atmosphere though. I may going to see them play Wolfsburg in a few weeks(Ticket is only 15 euro's:eek:) and will definitely be going to see them play Bayern Munchen on October 2nd. What a pity they are Celtic friends means i can't really support them.
  2. Sorry guy's i can't help on this one as i can't remember anything about him. One thing does worry me though i googled a you tube film of him and top of the list was : Jeffers goal for England, A terrible omen i think.
  3. If i was Jelavic then there is no way i would play. i would be on the sick until they sold me.
  4. The last few years i go regularly to Dortmund games and they have a complete standing section. I as an old small person hated it, as i could see nothing of the game. The atmosphere was electric though and i can imagine why supporters want to stand there.
  5. Happy to see it is not as serious as first thought.
  6. In that thread no one suggested that Rangers should not stand for integrity and have high moral values. If you thought that then you have not understood the discussion. The discussion was that could morals and values from the Bill Struth period be practised on modern day football players. I don't want to open up the same discussion in another thread but i do want to say i have never said Rangers should not have high moral and cultural values. On the contrary we should have. Do i think the, "you play for the jumper son" morals of the past have a place in today's world then unfortunately no i don't. Let us not forget that many players were also financially abused in the years that clubs had an iron fist. Do i want Russian owners? I want any owners that will take rangers forward. There are bad and good British business men so i would imagine it is the same in Russia. Unfortunately you never know what you get until you have got them and then it is normally too late to change things. If you never gamble on changing things then things will probably never change. What i will say is i hope we don't go back to forgetting to produce our own youth players and bring in Russian second rate players.
  7. Sad to hear. I hope it it is not as bad as first thought. good luck Kevin.
  8. BD Craig and me are locked together. 4699-BD 4700-Craig 4701-Moi I think they were looking over my shoulder when i filled it in.
  9. I didn't see anything that frightens me to be honest. when ICT pressured them they were a mess. Unfortunately ICT ran out of steam. Maloney was the only player i was impressed with.
  10. I didn't answer your question i made a statement.
  11. What a poor reply. I won't even lower myself to answer it.
  12. Now there is a tradition going in the huff when you can't win.
  13. The Champions league registry date closes soon if he is not signed by then then i doubt we will be interested anymore.
  14. Yes Okay What is your history and tradition. Georgie Young coming on to the field with his head bandaged up? That happens today except they can stitch wounds up these days.
  15. Are you looking in the mirror mate.
  16. Then you only see the good things. Do you honestly belief that Bill Struth never thought to himself:" I got that wrong." Positive images are remembered for ever which may be translated as tradition. Yes we have a great history but in history there has been good and bad in every time period.
  17. You are chasing Utopia mate it doesn't exist and never will. Even in the Struth days there were bad players and bad supporters.
  18. Washbash a candle gives light but we cannot live without electricity these days. Young Rangers supporters who know nothing of Bill Struth can still be fantastic supporters. You cannot blame supporters for the mistakes that Murray made. Rangers are Rangers but unfortunately we now live in a time that players wealth seems to be more important than the health of a football club. Hopefully that will be changing soon if FIFA keep their promise. FIFA are the monster that are creating the rich and the poor. Money is the devil.
  19. Well if i am missing the whole point of Rangers then i have wasted a hell of a lot of my life. I am totally glad that you guy's came on here because i will admit i never knew much about the early history. Does knowing that history make me a better supporter than i was. No i don't think so it just makes me a better informed one.
  20. Yes you are right but he played 26-11-25 league games over the last 3 seasons not really that good an average. 62 out of 122
  21. Times Change. People Change. You are a Business man you say. Do you accept the same standard of work as in the seventies. Nothing to do with Rangers supporters changing. Professional football has changed. Managers can no longer say to players you will earn this and expect them to be thankful for the offer. The Eagle signing proved that. Managers don't deal with players they deal with agents. Bill Struth is a Legend and always will be a Legend but i am afraid money plays a far bigger role in today's society as it did when he managed. You find that shameful well so do i but it is the modern world. Don't blame Rangers supporters for the change in society. You and Washbash seem to think if you mention Bill Struth it makes you a super supporter. It doesn't it just makes you older than the rest.
  22. Sorry i wasn't really quoting you on the huge but following the run of the thread. Apologies. I can honestly see why Thomson was punted. We could get our money back. He was more injured than he played. He had wonky knees. Edu scores far more goals from midfield and is imo a far better player. The wage bill is cut from a player who is missable. We can bring in a left sided player which we need more. I think it was a good piece of business.
  23. What did Thomson do last season to justify a huge wage rise? Was he not injured for most of the season before as well? I think he was entitled to a wage cut to be honest.
  24. I am not saying Mr Struth was not a fantastic manager. I am saying if he was to be a good manager today he would have to have more modern ideas and not the same morals as he did then. If you think that is wrong then i believe you are wrong. Those old morals blew out the window with the Bosman challenge. As i said i wish we could get back to a system where clubs are the boss but pay all players fair wages which is on a par with what they actually do.
  25. I wonder if he will be boxing with Wattie before the January.
