Sorry Warrrior but i totally disagree with you and in fact agree with Ian. I would rather let his contract run out for 4mill. If we could get 8mill for Boomsong then Bougie is worth at least 8.5 million. Cuellor was certainly a better defender but Bougie offers so much more in coming forward so i reckon that is the price class we should be looking at. Don't forget the 8 million was written in Cuellors contract otherwise we may have got more.

FC Twente are asking 12mill euro's for Douglas and HSV are interested in negotiating a price which will probably be a bit less. I rate Bougie better than Douglas as he can also go forward so he must be up in that price range.

Criticism only has a worth if it is constructive but then again if it falls on deaf ears then even constructive criticism is worthless. As part of their campaign they had 30+ beautiful babes wearing the dress to the game. As Heinekin are a top sponsor of the WC they complained to the Netherlands Football org. and the orange dresses were banned from the ground. In SA Bavaria paid 30+ babes again to enter the ground to display the Orange dress again. The Babes entered the ground in Danish colours and during the game stripped the Danish colours off to reveal the orange dress. The 30+ girls were escorted from the ground and two who came from Holland have been arrested.(The others were SA brought in through an agency). Bavaria could not have had a better advert. Just watched a programme about his move to Celtic. The commentator suggested that with his protestants upbringing a move to Rangers would have been better for him. He said probably but they did not come in for me. Useless information i know.

I agree with you Ian it was total mismanagement but i think the retraction of the Sky deal caused the biggest upset. As long as we were getting a large amount from them we were able to service the debt. When that disappeared from 48mill to 8 mill(SPL) then things started to go wrong. To be honest i am worried what Ellis dug up in the mismanagement stakes that made a takeover so difficult. I don't believe it was in the price, it took too long for that. I believe there were too many hidden skeletons and snakes in the cupboard. I honestly believe that. God help us in the future maybe we are no where near the bottom of the pit.

Just to add to my Michael van Praag interview he also stated that UEFA are going to have a hit team of financial experts who can turn up at any time and ask to examine a clubs books.

If Muir has been put in place to get the club back on positive financial terms then it is something we have been needing for years. It is not just Rangers who are going to have to tighten our belts but the whole of football and in fact you and me and everyone else, as the world economy has changed. Michael van Praag the ex-Ajax Chairman and now on the UEFA board said on Dutch TV last week that only teams who can balance their books will be allowed entry into the CL from season 2012. UEFA are going to do everything in their power to enforce this. That does not mean you can have no debt but the debt of the club has to be on a par with the income of the club. The dooms day scenario that we were going to be playing our youth team this season seems thankfully to have been scaremongering crap. We have had the rich sugar daddy crap. We have had the 10 pound for every 5 pound speech. A board who run things within our means can only be a good thing in my eyes.
