  1. I certainly think you have the qualities Frankie and certainly connections that very few have. No way should we be pushing you down a road you don't want to go though. When you stick your neck out it is you who will be taking the glory or the fall, we will still be faceless people behind the computer. If you do not want to take the lead maybe you can contact the people you feel are capable of taking the lead and start some kind of ripple that could grow into a wave. To be honest i am more frustrated by the lack of action from supporters groups than i am about Ellis. Obviously for this to be a success we would have to involve all groups across the board and get them all onside. United we stand. divided we fall. If you want to play a roll Frankie then the first job would be trying to get all the supporters groups to back such a scheme. Personally i think a supporters initiative which is known to be working with or linked to the Rangers board would give us the best chance of success. How about a campaign something like Glasgow Rangers- work in progress(or something like) and try and get through all different initiatives a reasonable amount of money. (Is a million too much to hope for?) Am i just dreaming? Unfortunately i am not academically or geographically in a position to push this myself but surely we can all unite to do something. We have to begin the fight before it is too late. Even if people are only donating a small amount of money(All they can afford) It may make a difference and it will certainly pull us together as a support and give a feeling of at least i done my best for my club.
  2. While we are all sitting discussing Ellis, king and Douglas not making any kind of move for Rangers, we have failed to notice that all fan groups also seem to have shut up shop. What has happened to the RST and the Assembly who were going to lead us to fan ownership. Apart from a few appearances by David Edgar giving his opinion on telly, all has gone quiet on the supporters front. We are all moaning about the long barren summer and a total lack of cash but now is the perfect opportunity to see how much support we can give our club. This does not all have to be money related although that is obviously the main goal. We could also be putting into place an idea bank where people can come up with ideas on how we can bring money into a help Rangers campaign. Obviously an Independent central bank account run by trusted supporters or possibly a Rangers Director where donations could be made. The Rangers Supporters fund? Build a name bank of companies who would possibly donate larger sums of money or become a club sponsor. A team to approach such companies and the club Organise a pop concert at Ibrox with hopefully the Rangers minded pop stars donating their time as a donation. A celebrity football match where celebrities can pay a fee to play against the first team A Benefit night. I am sure other people must have other ideas. I, in no way think we can ever get the 30million together to free the noose around our clubs neck, but sometimes action from a small fish prompts action from a big fish. We need a group of supporters to stand up and take the lead. The RST,the Assembly and other supporters groups should be pulling all supporters together not filling their own agenda's. We need someone to stand up and get all the supporters pushing in one direction instead of pushing against each other. We can all be frustrated by Ellis, King and Douglas but we also have to look in the mirror and ask if we are doing enough as supporters. Some of that frustration must be aimed at our supporter groups and the lack of leadership. We are in desperate need for a new leader or leaders to pull all the fans together and start putting up a fight. Surely we can all do something to help. Even a tree starts small and grows but it has to be planted first.
  3. Oh how i hope you are right. I hope Rangers problems are sorted out soon but the summer cannot be long enough for me.
  4. Unfortunate but they beat Ajax 3-1 so i claim we are better than Ajax.
  5. Accountants are used to dodging.:fish:
  6. Remember Bobby Russell he was a late blossom that came good. It can happen.
  7. At the end of the day another Rangers player lifted the cup.
  8. Work rate was poor and didn't defend very well. Great at scoring from midfield and good vision.
  9. I was sitting on my boat having a beer and enjoying the first warm ray's of sun we have had in weeks. I never missed any of the finals and don't particularly want to watch the highlights. Roll on some warmer weather.

I just feel if you are making a Rangers website full of Rangers information then the club crest should be more important than a cheap statement of Britishness.

Why a Union flag as logo instead of the club crest? While i have nothing against the Union flag i just don't see why it has to be used to represent a Rangers website.

  13. Andrew Ellis must buy Rangers before talking about who is staying, insists boss Walter Smith May 7 2010 RANGERS boss Walter Smith has urged potential new owner Andrew Ellis to put his money where his mouth is and buy the club before making plans for the future. The London-based property developer was this week quoted as saying he hopes to move significantly closer to a takeover of the Scottish champions before the end of the month. He also revealed plans to offer Smith - who has been working without a contract since January - a new deal and current owner Sir David Murray the role of lifetime president. But Smith said: "You get frustrated when things like that happen because the individual part, whether someone wants to offer me a three-year contract or not, it doesn't really matter. "The most important thing is the football club. I stress that to you, that is the most important thing in our mind. "Myself, Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall, we are supporters and we are fortunate enough to be able to work at a club we love working at. "For anybody who is thinking about buying the club to make public that they are going to offer us three-year contacts without speaking to us is not right. "Buy the club first. If that's what they want to do, then do it. It's quite simple. "You don't have to use my name or anybody else's to do that. Rangers Football Club should stand on its own and, if he wants to buy it, then make an offer for it. "He's had plenty of time to make an offer so it's down to him." Smith will hold talks with chairman Alastair Johnston when he flies into Glasgow from his United States base this weekend. "I'll meet Alastair when he comes over," said the Rangers boss. "We've got a fair number of things that we need to chat about so we will do that. I've said this quite consistently that we have to get this clarity, regardless of what it is. "The main thing is just to try to get a situation where the club is sorted out and given a bit of direction, regardless of what that is, whether we carry on under the bank's rule, or new owners, supporter buy-outs or anything like that. "As long as there is clarity from everybody's point of view, it's a necessary thing to have. "I don't think you are going to have a situation where the chairman appears, has a couple of meetings, and then everything is clarified. It's not going to be quite as simple as that. "But the close-season is an important time for the footballing side of things so hopefully the sooner things get settled down the better." Smith knows fans are keen to learn whether he will still be at the Ibrox helm next term after leading Rangers to back-to-back Clydesdale Bank Premier League titles. But he stressed: "My situation is probably the least important. The club's situation has to be sorted more than any individual's. "Whether I'm in the Rangers dug-out at the start of next season or not is really not the most important thing. That's just the way it is. "I'll repeat, the most important thing is, in the next few weeks, that everybody starts to show a stability in where the club is and where it's going to go for next season. "Never mind the position of any individual - a manager or a player or anybody else - the club's situation is the most important thing. Once the club's situation is sorted out, everything else can follow in line with that. "Since January, everybody seems to be preoccupied by the fact that we are without contracts but we still get paid, there is no problem for myself, Ally McCoist, Kenny McDowall, there is still no problem for us working without a contract. "It's the club's overall situation that is the most important thing. "If the club gets a new owner and he wants me to stay on, he will indicate that. If he wants us to leave, then we will leave. "There is not a problem with that situation but it would be wrong of us to mislead people and say we are going to do one thing or another and then find out that we are not."
  14. 5-6 who said the SPL is boring.
  15. Beat you:flipa::robbo:
  16. 3-6 now. great game to watch.
  17. The wee cunt dives so much he should have a periscope coming out his head.
  18. About 25 euro's for the smaller games and 35 euro's for the toppers. 20 euro's is not true.
  19. Do we need a super Rich guy running us who is not using his own money to put us in debt or do we need someone who can run the club well. Rangers,Gretna. AZ,Man u and many more have all tried the rich guy scenario and almost or have gone under. Give me someone who can run the club well in keeping us in the black and get the Donald Parks Dave Kings the supporters and sponsors to all share the burden of financing the club. I don't want one guy running our club alone i would prefer a guy who can get all the main players pushing in one direction.
  20. I was listening to your call and a Killie supporter said he was the most overrated player in Scotland.
  21. The English press was in full to the gunnel's in Breda. Now he is hero but i would imagine if he had lost he would have remained the "Wally with the brolly" and they would have drilled him into the ground.
  22. What a party here. The whole centre of Enschede is closed since this afternoon. Even now at 23.15 the players bus is still trying to get to Enschede. The whole of the motorway(A1) is totally blocked with supporters. Fantastic how Joop Munsterman has taken the club from almost bankruptcy to champions in 7 years while keeping the club in the black. Hopefully whoever takes over Rangers can follow their example.(By keeping us in the black and being champions.)
  23. Off to watch the NAC- Twente match in the Twente stadium on a big 80 metre screen. Crowd of 18.000 expected to hopefully win their first league title ever. Twente need to win so i wish Steve McClaren and his team all the best. Come on TWENTE!!! Rangers and Twente, chamions in the same season. What a season.:robbo::robbo::spl:
  24. I think Alex Mcleish and Walter Smith will know.
  25. With the one comes the other.
