Rangers have agreed a £1.5million fee with Stoke City for James Beattie.

As i said those are morals from yesteryear. It would still be fantastic to have them but i doubt if many of today's players would abide by them. Road workers don't use spades anymore they use mechanical diggers. You have to go with the flow or you ain't gonna show. Pensioned off morals don't win leagues. UNFORTUNATELY- 164 replies

That is a horrible statement. I certainly hope we can beat them with skill.

Davy Weir has been signed until he is 42. As long as you are fit and in a defensive roll that is possible. For Lee to be signed as an attacking player would be like signing James Beattie. -

I have more trust in Lee than in Broadfoot at CH. I remember a goal against Celtic that sickened me and showed Broadfoot up as a poor CH. -

And rightly so. Broadfoot is not very good at centre half to say the least. -

Different times different rules. Struth didn't have to work with today's footballers. No one will ever know what Struth would have done today. It is like asking an Austin England to race against a Ferrari.- 164 replies

Well I will be fighting to get my old Peugot 405 through it's MOT in October.

Using McCulloch gives Edu a more attacking role. Edu is in my eyes a far better player than Thomson. Again, Thomson's knees have been ckufed twice and he has not really fully recovered from the last time. One year on his contract. 2mill back that we paid for him. 1+1=2 -

We could get 2 mill for Thomson, we would get hee haw for Lee. The difference in the style of play i feel will not be much. Thomson has had bad injuries and the medical staff may have advised 2 mill was a good offer for someone who seems to walk an injury tightrope. -

Agree, big Lee deserves a new contract. He may not be the most technical player but you do get the feeling he is giving 100% -
Here we go again. Will this guy ever play for us.

Nah Gaz it was tiresome about a week ago. It is uber-tiresome now:thup:

Don't want to spread fear but i just noticed Amdy Faye is a free agent. Surely not.

If Beattie is our second choice i don't dare think who our third choice will be if Beattie doesn't sign.

Yes and your doing them! Set an alarm in your Blackberry.

He would make a massive difference to the tims but as Man City would have to pick up 60.000 of his 90.000 wages I doubt they will be willing to do that. I think they will look for a buyer first.

We could have surely picked a better name than Beattie. I doubt if Rapid will be shaking in their shoes at that news.

Last week Madjid was happy to stay and now he is making noises of leaving. Maybe he doesn't fancy Beattie either. I must admit it must be difficult for the players as well to see the team being butchered and only being offered an elastoplast to heal the wounds.- 164 replies

I don't mind one veteran but James Beattie has never really set the grass on fire wherever he has played. well at least for the past eight years. There must be better younger players for that price.- 164 replies
