Agree it is in our hands. If we play the shite we have played in the last 1.5 games we have no chance. Come on Walter go for a 4-4-2 with attack in mind. You can pick any formation to be honest, the secret is to shut the other team down and not give them room to receive the ball. If you give them 3 yards to control and turn you will be chasing shadows.

    Sebo

I don't know Ian we have yet to see Sebo in a team when we are pressing and dominating. Maybe if he gets a few goals he will get the confidence to put the chances away. He certainly lacks composure though he makes Nacho look like Bobby Moore.
  4. I will say i learned today that McGregor is definitely our No1 keeper. He picks balls out the air that i would be having a heart attack if Klos was in goals. Hutton was by far Man of the Match he played brilliant. Weir and Hedgehog stopped most things going down the middle exept for a few chances for Miller, but hey his goal game ratio is far worse than Sebo's so maybe the tims should have a banner about him. They have had Shite, Wright, and Miller. Oh yeh i won't mention dublin. Oh, i did! Murray and Adam, sorry they don't do it for me and are our worst players in my eyes. I thought Hemdani played better than Fergie today so i don't know why some have given him a lower score. Thomson is still settling in but he does look like he will be a good asset. If and when we have a settled ship and want to go all out to win games i don't think we can afford to play Hemdani, Thomson and Fergie, they all want to play in the same area. Nacho fights for everything but just misses that bit of composure to make him a great player. I certainly would keep him as a squad player. Sebo as i said in another post as a striker he was not at the races but as our first line of defence he was superb. McGregor--8 Hutton----9 Weir------8 Ehiogu----7 Murray----5 Nacho-----7 Hemdani---7 Thomson--6 Fergie-----6 Adam-----5 Sebo-----6 Prso-----7 I though he played great when he came on. Rae------ Did he touch the ball?

If i had got a 6 in all my exams i would be quite happy.
  6. Yep got to agree there Ally i was also surprised to see Hemdani on Pressley. I think though Hedgehog had Vinegar, Weir had McManus and Hemdani had Pressley. Normally your striker would take the third choice but i don't think we want Sebo anywhere near our goal.

It depends on how you look at it Gav. As a striker he made totally no impact but as a first line of defence he was superb.
  8. Frigg'n Dutch chose Chelsea-Spurs, thankfully i can receive the German premiere just now as they showed it. You can choose the original Satanta commentary or the Gerry one so it was a bonus getting Scott Booth.
  9. Agree Cammy but i will say he did go missing when Pressley got a free header at goal today. that is his week point to be honest.

    Sebo

I agree with all but i would like to add when he gets the ball he is a like donkey. Yes it is great the way he flings himself about and i love him for that but to be honest he needs to show he can also play football. As i said though i love the big guy i hope we keep him.
  11. Telly:sigh:
  12. Sorry Ally i agree with most of your posts but this is a cheap snide remark about Hemdani,to try and make Boyd look better. Hemdani has been class in most of the games he has played in this year and it is not his fault that there is pressure on Boyd. I do not blame Boyd for his performance on Thursday it was mostly the decisions of our manager that was to blame. Boyd can't play a lone striker, it is not his forte. If we want to play a lone striker it has to be Prso. Why the hell we needed to play a lone striker in a home game against mediocre opposition i will never know.
  13. I never said we don't have a chance,in fact i still think we can walk over them. We have to pressurise them from start to finish though to do it. In a strange way it may help us as we have to go at them to get a result.
  14. Looking at the game, Burke had quickly 4 players around him. Fergie had one player only involved in marking him. Hemdani did brilliant getting the ball to Boyd but he was offside mostly. Hutton i thought also played well but he is not a game winner. The rest were crap i agree with that.
  15. The fact that things got better when Novo and Prso came on makes me believe that it was all down to tactics.
  16. Keys handed over to the FA so it seems it is now finished. great the fans can now use the jim Baxter bridge. They still need a safety certificate to hold the cup final.
  17. PSV will beat liverpool. Put money on it!!!!
  18. Ian i think you are missing the plot.(Sorry) We have on the starting team last night two players who have imagination. Fergie and Burke. If you have a defence kicking the ball up to a player who can't hold a ball for the life of him then they are frightened to move forward which makes the whole team stationary. If a team is stationary then they get pressed by three or four players and lose the ball. All these players can control a ball if they have the room and time but if you have 4 players round you kicking at your ankles then it is a different story.
  19. Klos proved he is a fantastic line keeper, but he is a nightmare with high balls. A keeper should always defend the 6 metre box no matter how tall he is. He always has the length of his arms as an advantage. Klos stays rooted to the goal line even if the cross is 2 yards from the line. McGregor for me.
  20. Agreed, i wish i could be there.
  21. If you set up your team not to get out of there own half, then they won't. It has been well recorded Boyd cannot play as a lone striker as he can't hold a ball up. We have two centre halves that can only punt the ball so why the heck play 5 in midfield. Our good players never had a chance to play well yesterday as the ball was punted to Boyd who never had a chance to be honest and it let osasuna crowd our good players out of the game. This game was lost on Smith's shit tactics, nothing more , nothing less.
  22. I agree with you fully but if you want to keep the ball away from the keeper you do not sit on your own 18 yard box you force the other team to defend in their own half. Smith fucked up big time as he has always done in Europe. Why? Because he is a shitebag and doesn't dare to have a go. There used to be a telly programme with words in the song text: It is better to have fought and lost than not to have fought at all. Walter should heed this.
  23. I totally agree with all the youth part of what is said above but on last nights game there is one man responsible for the way we played and that is Walter Smith. One striker for a home game against mediocre opposition is an absolute disgrace. We started with our defence on our own 16 metre line and they stayed there for seventy minutes due to weir and hedgi-hog punting the ball up to Boyd who headed it to Mr Nobody, or him proving he couldn't hold a fish supper. Le Guen may have misjudged his signings and the high ball game we play but he understood tactics better than Smith ever will.
  24. Hemdani is the best player we have, it would be a sin to let him go. Our big problem is movement off the ball. There is none. Why? The midfielders think the defence will punt the ball anyway. Boyd can't hold a ball up so i can better not waste my time going forward? Remember Elland Road yah bassas we had no chance there as well and we won. We are the People!!!!!
  25. To be honest i can see us doing better without Fergie. We have to put two strikers on though, with Novo and Burke on the wings. -----------------Klos---------- Hutton------Svensson---------Weir-------Murray Novo---------Thomson-----Hemdani--------Burke---(Adam?????) ------------------Boyd-------Prso------------- Prso has to play and should have started tonight, he is still a handfull for any defender.
