I thought the Times makes it pretty lightweight and unlikely to have credibility? I don't see the Times as being much different from the Sun.

Just thinking that promoting Dundee could be unfair to third placed Falkirk who, if they had known that second place brought promotion, could have played things differently, especially in the last few games where they had no chance of overhauling Ross County but only finished a mere three points behind Dundee.

Wish it was League Two in England... I could go to a few games.

So what kind of TV deal do you think we'll be able to negotiate?
-
How many will go to Hampden - it will be like a home game... Could be funny to watch the envy as they bring in £500k or whatever from two home games against us - and the SFA get SFA for a big crowd at the national stadium.

Aren't Livingstone the ones who were livid that they were demoted to div 3? Lots of empathy there then.

Could Ticketus legally be behind a buy out of the assets of a liquidated company where they are creditors? Sounds feasible. They can't ask the newco for repayment of debt but they can probably buy the assets for a newco on the open market and sell the company for a profit and recoup their losses that way...

Will Celtic fans' beliefs disintegrate once the gloating is over?
calscot replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
Yeah of course that's ok - although I don't it's one of the most well written things I've done as it was composed pretty quickly... I can imagine the comments will be pretty blistering... -
I don't think anyone is saying anything about crooks, I think people are afraid of mercenary businessmen only interested in their own gain being in charge of something they hold dear. And quite right too. The vast majority of clubs are, and always have been owned and run by people who do it for other reasons than making their payday as big as possible. Why can't we want a bit of that?

Duff & Phelps -Interim report to creditors

It was the threatening behaviour of the gorilla that scared Murray and Lloyds into selling the club and made all decent buyers shite themselves. Whyte came in as someone who likes to profit from gorilla hunting. -
That's a very worthy cause you're advertising there but is it really necessary? These kind of signatures ruin forums. You've got your avatar, do really need a huge sig as well which just stops the flow of conversation?

Celtic fans are about to emerge to a world they don't recognise - one where their beliefs about the order of the world have been shattered. Will they be able to cope? They will find that years of carrying the enormous chip in the belief that Rangers are the establishment club was pure fantasy. How can Rangers be the establishment club and be so royally and savagely attacked by all and sundry including the Football bodies from the SFL to FIFA and the HM government who could have easily saved face and pulled in tens of millions for the tax payer by going lenient on the club? Rangers have been massacred by the fourth estate in all forms of media which completely shatters their illusion that they are all biased for the Ibrox side. The club have been attacked on all sides by almost every club in the land which tears up their dogma that the likes of Dunfermline lie down to us to hand us the title, Hearts (for which they use the bigoted title, "Mini-Huns"), do not give us an easy ride and the rest of the league don't make it simple for Rangers every week. With the SFA and SPL headed by Celtic men and using Celtic minded lawyers, referees under their thumb and sacked for anything remotely contentious to their sensibilities, ex Celtic players and hoop friendly journalists everywhere ragging Rangers as much as possible, MSPs wearing Celtic tops to parliament, the Glasgow council run by their sort and handing them development money for the commonwealth games - they will really have to reassess just who is backed by the establishment. How will they cope without their put upon demeanour, their cries of discrimination every time they are rightly criticised, their impression that everyone is against them and only them? What will they do with their excuses and paranoia when they lose? Just where will they be able to point the finger of blame when they can't cope with the fact they are responsible for themselves? Having your ingrained beliefs destroyed must be like having the rug pulled from underneath you and making you reflect on your wasted, passed life based on untrue assumptions and myth. Maybe we should feel sorry for them.

With Whyte it was more like raping a beautiful woman.

Ally has already been the star of a feature film and had a minor role in a TV series. With his acting experience, why not cast him as himself? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0566083/

People are already forgetting the 4000lb gorilla in the room. If you just pretend he's not there then you're pretty much spot on... -
So why have we been continually beaten about not paying football debts?

How many clubs that have gone into liquidation have had the word "shamed" tagged on to their name? I'd really like to know. -
I have no problem with people being members of the OL; however, I would imagine they would or should be pretty disdainful of the the pretend ones who use their songs nefariously. I always find it strange that the Catholic church stand up for Celtic - they are only showing themselves as a religion with a poor moral code. You don't see the Church of Scotland standing up for Rangers, and I would be surprised if they ever did. Neither side of the OF behave in a way that could be considered remotely Christian. They are supposed to WORSHIP someone who is famous for saying "love thy enemy" and "turn the other cheek". They are making a mockery of the very religion of which they claim to be devout believers. Like I said, if you REALLY want to display your protestant beliefs then join the Sally Army and get out and do some good. You'll also get plenty of chances to belt out some of you religion's best songs. But I really don't think that's what it's all about - it's not even a wee bit about God, Christ or being a good person. If it's imperative that people bring who they are through the turnstiles and display it openly would you be happy if a bunch of Catholics started supporting Rangers and sang anti-protestant stuff? Should anti-monarchists sing songs against the Queen? Where are all the muslims, Scottish Nationalists, gays etc supposed to fit in this - are they allowed the same soap box? Or should they leave their coats at the door?

Germany has over 80m people and Spain have almost 50m. They are both football countries and pretty much punch their weight. We just can't compete with the shear numbers. We need to look at a smaller country who punches above their weight like Netherlands and Portugal who have 16.5m and 10.5m respectively. While they still have bigger numbers to choose from their populations are not so hugely different as the big five. However, Portugal is skewed by being able to easily naturalise Brazilians - who are a football mad country with almost 200m people. Denmark have a similar population to us and at least qualify regularly and so perhaps they are a better model to follow - however their club football is not exactly prestigious. Australia have a population of about 22m and despite their national sport being Aussie only and the fact they are very diverse in their tastes in sport, they punch way above their weight in many of them - with the Olympics being a great example. They have sport ingrained in their culture and is highly nurtured by the state from school onwards with a Centre of Excellence. Despite football being something like the 6th sport after Aussie rules, rugby, cricket, basketball and swimming, they are still a good bit better than us.

Pedantically the SFA paid for the court case... But it was the fans who put up the money in advance to fight it.

We should not be accepting an illegal penalty and looking at how our squad has disappeared shows how highly inappropriate it is in these kind of circumstances. I have yet to understand what we are actually guilty of to receive any punishment at all. Other clubs have not paid taxes, wages, football debts but not received extra, made up punishments and condemned as just short of match fixing cheats. There is also the complicity of the SFA in this matter by standing back and allowing a non-fit person to take over our club even though they were warned. Even the whole report of our "trial" was full of lies, mis-truth and irony. They say Rangers have been arrogant and have no contrition - where is the contrition from the SFA for attempting to break there own rules in their rush to invent a punishment for Rangers? They were proven 100% wrong, yet instead of an apology, they are supposed to "bring Rangers into line". The hypocrisy in Scottish football is a foul stench and there is no way we should accept their punishment. If they give us a bigger one then we should sue again as that would be breaking their own rules again. The reason we NEED to sue the SFA is that they are blatantly CHEATING. How ironic is that?

People don't leave their coat at the door, they put one on - it's plastic, orange, garish and crass, and makes a mockery of the real thing. It also makes the wearers as bad as those they make figures of hate in the name of that coat.
-
The Rangers wiki is supposed to be highly moderated and has a lot less stuff from you know who now. It used to be pretty hate-filled and stuffed with misrepresentations. Last time I looked it was still pretty unbalanced compared with the Celtic page.

Would you care to explain? Or are you trolling?

Actually, I'm going to apologise for saying anything. I feel a bit bad now.
