  1. Well they have implied it. Did Smith not say it was up to the new manager and that's essentially the same thing.
  2. When I worked with Falkirk they got the boys at under 17 iirc in "full-time" like the first team, reserve and u19 squads are, when these boys were on half term at school. In addition to the usual technical training sessions and the strength and conditioning that I was a coach for they had sessions with a nutritionist and medical staff and I believe additional tactics/technical sessions and physcial conditioning sessions. This is half remembered though and I wasn't involved in the majority of it. However, it may give us some idea of what the Rangers youths are involved in albeit on a smaller scale.
  3. I'm trying to avoid the obvious response to him and Timmy accusation, but he's making it more and more difficult.
  4. Just because some intelligent guys with a lot of financial knowledge are tearing strips off your half-assed arguments doesn't mean any of them (nor myself) are from the "hunky-dory brigade". You keep misconstruing accounts and what the various numbers mean. They have patiently tried to educate you. For some reason you appear to be deliberately failing to understand them and are becoming somewhat of a joke character. If it is your brother feeding you this nonsense, it appears he may want to go in for some retraining as he must be criminally ill-prepared for the position he reputedly holds.
  5. As we're on youth footy here, wee snippet of a post from elsewhere:
  6. As I said, it is encouraging as it is obviously a step in the right direction. I just presume that we still aren't getting the same level of contact time that the Dutch for example are. That's why I was hoping people with a greater depth of knowledge of such things, like Pete, will comment. Again, as I say, we do seem to be seeing improvements in the competitiveness of our youths at that level and also more promising players coming through and this is surely, at least in part, due to changes Sinclair has brought in such as the extra days training. The lectures are no doubt integral to player development but I wonder if young lads are mature enough to understand this and benefit from them. I doubt I would have been.
  7. Your previous post makes little sense in that case then. And also they seem to be running rings around you with the financial debate yet you can't or wont see it. Arrogance or ignorance?
  8. I had a look but the thread didn't really progress too much mate unfortunately. For some reason issues that should concern the wider support such as youth development and the future of our club don't often attract as much interest as threads on daft tims or other nonsensical debates. There's a few on here who should have some interesting insights and a couple on FF too.
  9. I'm not sure you realise who I was referring to?
  10. Davie Weirs reaction to the handball against us: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...rs/7084555.stm The Rangers way versus the Timmy way.
  11. I would be interested in Pete for examples take on this. Whilst it is encouargaing to see we are trying to take our youth development in the right direction, 1 additional day per week does not really seem like enough to me? Having said that, we (along with Hibs perhaps) appear to have overtaken Celtic in terms of being the dominant side at youth level over the last couple of years. Is this largely attributable to Jim Sinclair and the changes he ahs implemented? On a less important note it is good to see someone recognising that Murray Park is not just a youth development facility and in fact it's main purpose is a training facility for our first team and all this talk of it being a waste of money is wide of the mark. Following on from that point, recently we may have only had Fleck, Wilson and to a lesser extent Shinnie and Little breaking into the first team recently, but that does not make Murray Park a waste. Looking at Man United, how many of their starlets don't make the first team but are sold for a million pound or two? I think we should gauge success based partly on Man U's system and partly Ajax (for example). We should be looking to bring one or two players through to the first team squad each year. But we should also be looking to develop players of a decent enough standard that we could sell another 3 or 4 for example to cover the running costs of youth development. I thought I had some other points re: this but can't remember them at this point.
  12. Spanner, I don't understand why you, as a self confessed layman, are so sure your opinions are more valid than those of 3 experts in finance?
  13. Fucking ridiculous reaction from what i've seen on SSN. If it was up to the Irish then we'd replay every game of football ever would we, as never does 1 pass without such incidents? We'll replay the Scotland - Italy game from the qualification campaign before when Italy scored from a freekcik won for a foul on (Not by) Alan Hutton? Have the Irish not benefited from such decisions? Shut the fuck up, you're embarassing yourselves. Fifa wont replay it because the French might go out. No. They wont replay it because it sets a ridiculous precedent. I'm glad the Irish are out now. GIRUY.
  14. Speaking of silly posts, claiming Smith hasn't looked good on the left when he changed the game against Hearts. I'll educate on Fergie too. He has regularly played Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo out of position. Yes they are class players. But the point I was trying to highlight is some people just moan about players being out of position for the sake of it, whether or not it actually works.
  15. He wont be risked? That's if he's even back in the country in time.
  16. The online community of active users is around 5000 give or take. Had no idea it was so "small". Well when you consider that approx 200,000 went to Manchester and home attendances are 50,000.
  17. Is this not the dirty bastard that "did" Naismith.
  18. WOuldn't take Venables or Keegan (who is actually a pretty terrible manager), but would take McLaren or Hodgson.
  19. THis is genuinely a huge issue at Rangers for me. How does this scrotum of a man get hospitality, watching our team for free when many fans who would love to be there cannot attend due to various reasons (mostly financial and geographical)? Makes my blood boil. It is simply outrageous. Is it? I'm lost.
  20. I'm not sure that's correct. Also seeing as there are rules about not charging away fans more than home fans, how can they justify only charging away fans again?
  21. And the polis lost the plot. :fish:
  22. Anyone who'll not piss off the few quality players we have available and will pick his best available XI will do me for a start.
  23. Missed that before. Awesome mate.
  24. How am I the first to say this? "i mind tannadice 'went' on fire when i was there". Bmck letting his pyromaniacal tendencies out?
  25. Doubt i'll like it, but would consider even paying up to a fiver if it was to go to developing our youths.
