Is this what the headline on the evening times boards was all about? Edit: Stopped being lazy; quite interesting and pleasing: http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.2116498.0.ibrox_men_hunt_17m_jackpot.php

As the title says. Evening times says he'll get an automatic 2 game ban in 14 days time keeping him in the stand for the OF on the 29th. Personally don't think it will matter as he stays up in the stands most the time anyway.
-
I certainly don't see us losing more than a 1-0, 2-1. However I can see a sneaky 1-0 win if Cuellar and Weir can keep the back door locked. Usually get a "feeling" on the day of the game.

14/5 according to odsschecker.com, dunno if that's best price.

When Bremen came to Ibrox, they were available at around 2/1 with us marginal favourites at 13/10 approx (varies with bookies and my memory of the odds ). For this weeks game I notice they are 4/7 with us available at 5/1. Now I think the odds for the first game were probably fair enough. We weren't expected to win comfortably. However, in light of that result I am suprised about the odds for the return. I know they have a great home record and I don't necessarily think we'll go there and win (I do believe we'll score). 5/1 seems long to me for a team who won the first leg convincingly.

Rangers Fans shortchanged by Catalan authorities?
Super_Ally replied to Super_Ally's topic in Rangers Chat
Now if somehow peices like this could get into the mass media in Scotland rather than just being passed around Rangers fans who already know the score when it coems to balanced reporting up here. Considering the media penchant up here for being lazy and stealing stories, you'd think a Rangers friendly journo migth highlight this. -
From 4-4-2 magazine.

Be good to rub it in with 9 though!

I know we've had a couple of these over the recent past for equalling and surpassing Griegs record appearances in Europe for teh Gers and for equalling the Scottish record set by that Arab(!). But congratualtions to Fergie tonight for becoming the record Scottish appearance maker in Europe. (That's some bad grammar, just doesn't read right )

Aye, I don't see why we shouldn't harbour ambitions of going all the way. No we are not favourites, we're not even favourites for thsi tie. But when you look at how some very limited sides (in elite European terms) have made it to latter stages of Euro comps and even won them; Porto, Marseille, Middlesborough, Newcastle, Celtic, then I don't see why we can't continue to punch above our weight and if we carry a bit of luck, reach a semi or the final. Was actually discussing some of these points with Andy yesterday and we agreed on one interesting point. Despite everyone bemoaning our recent forays into Europe when did we have a recent record that read; 05/06 - CL last 16 06/07 - UEFA cup last 16 07/08 - UEFA cup last 16 possibly further. And that is under much maligned managers Eck, PLG/Walter and this season Walter (maligned only in Europe). Souness and laterly Walter and Advocaat in the big spending era of the 90's did not produce records like that. This is also well refelcted in our co-efficient. Whilst Celtic lost Seville off their co-efficient this year (23points!) and then their next biggest contribution to their co-efficient (15 points) for the following year, we go from strength to strength. We lost our worst year (4 poinhts) for this year and next year we lose our next lowest contribution of 6 points. Our recent runs have brung in 13.2 points in 05/06, 15.4 points in 06/07 and so far 12.5 points this year. http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method3/trank2008.html For the first time in a wee while we are guaranteed to be seeded higher than the mhanks even if we accumulate no more points this year. And the benefit of this should not be underestimated. Look at their progression from a very limited group this year thanks to being 2nd seeds. We are currently ranked 30 in Europe for next season. However this may change. For example Newcastle and Boro will not be playing next year so that promotes us two places. However there are plenty more points to be won.

Rangers 3 : 1 Aberdeen - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Agree with that, the lack of intelligence comment was in respect to one aspect of play. Boyd could be utilised more effectively in a 4-5-1 (although I would still not be for this) if we played to his strengths. -
K Miller? Really? Why so worked up about him. He's a terrible terrible player I really hope Walter doesn't sign, but when I think of him as a Celtic player he provided amusement.

Was of a similar standard as Hutton at the start of the PLG era, when Hutton was branded "crap". HAving said that, even back then Hutton was my preferred choice due to his height, with Bardsley being weak in the air. Add in a bad attitude and it's no thanks from me. Hutton then Whittaker.

First time round I just scanned the list to see who I was doing. But looking at it properly they're all good games this month. No one getting a Gretna or an East Stirling which just wouldn't be as much fun.

Rangers 3 : 1 Aberdeen - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Whilst I agree that he struggles to hold the ball up when playing as a lone striker, there are also serious defects in the way the rest of teh team play in this formation. Boyd is exceptional at winning flick ons in many games. Take Pana away as an example. But his team mates lack either the workrate or intelligence to make supposrting runs. As I have pointed out many times, he doesn't just flick the ball straight behind him, he gets up and directs it into space. Boyd could potentially work in a 4-3-3 if it was played as an attacking formation and the wide men actually did their job of supporting him. Agree with the negatives of playing Boyd in this formation though. -
Rangers 3 : 1 Aberdeen - Player Ratings and MoM Poll

Conversely we're doing far better in results terms now that Hemdani is playing a bit part role. Kind of sums up the ridiculousness of placing all achievement or failure on one player when it's a team game with XI players on the field, never mind the issues of squad depth, injury, suspension, effect of the backroom staff and luck. -
Getting confused. Oh well, shows I don't pay much attention to their results and if we keep it going we wont need too.

Picked up one of the Sunday rags, only player above a 6 for Celtic was Brown with an 8. Yet was it not him who sold a goal yesterday?
-
Oi! Just a C+? :uzi:
-
8 on the spin for them now and just a point behind as we prepare to take on Aberdeen. Demonstrates the improtance of us keeping our run going.
-
A virtual biscuit to the first person who can guess mine?

Thanks for the reply. Hadn't considered that. Just wondering about the above as I think people are too quick to rubbish the quality of the league up here year on year.
-
I remember some comments online roughly around early Jan, were some fans were not overly happy with things despite us being top of the league. There arguement being that we were worse off points wise than Celtic were at the same point last season. Arguing essetnially quality in the league was diminshing. So after our continued run of 10 league victories I was wondering if anyone knows how Celtic and ourselves were sitting after an equal number of matches last season to that which we have played now?
-
Very welcome news. Weir and Cuellar will have to maintain levels of earlier in the season and not some of the recent performances. And Whittaker, Papac and Broadfoot will have to keep producing as Smith increases competition in teh full back slots.

I also picked Barry but there were a few worthy candidates including Davis and Dailly .
