  1. Gribz I wouldn't take him if we were given £3mil. He's that poor a striker.
  2. I'm sure it was fine to post that here. I'm not admin, they don't share my views. Your initial reposte in the above post seems at odds with the rest of it. If you were trying to be antagonistic and insulting, why have you taken a bit of a strop here when someone has given you the attention you crave?
  3. I was aware of some of the hypocrisy of my post. I hope you can see it in your own. Yours views and posts were quite frankly antagonistic and insulting in points. To come on here with such a brash attitude, when the comments that so offended your sensibilities did not initially come from here was odd and quite frankly a stupid move on your part. Best highlighted below; Perhaps you are not the giant intellect that you so obviously percieve yourself to be and a more humble approach may allow you to engage in more fruitful debate. The reason I suggest you fall for the "moonbeams" so easily is not down to you being pro the transfer of Hutton. It is the manner of your origianl post in which you dismissed the opinions of others who are anti-Murray with sarcasm and a ridiculous idea of an old-fashioned silent-movie villain. Whilst some people may have ridiculous notions of SDM, to tar all his detractors with that brush is childish and naive and has you reeking of arrogance. Perhaps other fans of reasonable acumen have evaluated the man's tenure at the club and merely come to a differing opinion to you as to Murray's impact on the club?
  4. Waited to read this til I had a bit of time. Great article again Frankie. Agree with it all pretty much. I'm relatively happy looking back on it tbh. Realistically we were never going to keep Hutton, Bain and Murray wanted the money too much. Hutton's transfer obviously weakened the squad. The Dailly and Alexander transfers cancel out the loss of Carrol and Ehiogu pretty much and Davis coming in strengthens midfield with KT absent. So the only concern is if Whittaker can get anywhere near Hutton's standards. If so we're are almost as strong as before the window. Celtic have added numbers. But then they needed to regardless of outgoing transfers. Recent form of the defence aside, we have looked pretty capable in all areas of the field and would only have to cover outgoing players, with a decent quality and size to the squad. Any opportunity to bring in a top quality signing should have been taken, but that proves difficult in January. By contrast, Celtic are playing catch up. They have a dodgy defence, centre backs and both full backs. There midfield lacks balance and consistency. "Big names" who don't really perform; Brown, Donati and Nakamura. McGeady is being hailed for player of the year, although his consistency does not justify this. And teh only attacker they can rely on is McDonald. There need was greater than ours and reflected their greater activity. Hutchison and Mizuno, however are "ones for the future". They will have little to no impact on the title destination. Samaras has ability but has not demonstrated that at Man City, with games at a premium. He may prove a useful signing or a waste of wages. A gamble, but only time will tell. Robson is avery good SPL player. But sometimes when high profile players at a small club move to the OF they struggle and drop into obscurity. Look at Riordan, and even Brown who has yet to justify the furore of hsi transfer. I expect he will improve the squad, but in himself will not be the deciding factor in the title race. Hinkel has international pedigree, but struggled for regular games in La Liga. He is liekly to improve the shambles in defence, but I have not seen enough of the player to give an informed opinion. So of their signings only Robson, Hinkel and Samara will be pushing for a regular start. Samaras will not greatly improve the starting XI imo and will probably have to settle for deputising for JvoH or McDonald. Robson may struggle for games ahead of Donati, McGeady, Brown, Hartley and Nakamura. They have not made any "blue chip" signings who immediately scream quality and will drastically improve the first team. The have also offloaded Jarosik and Zurawski for cut-price fees. We have weakened a little. But Whittaker's ability to make right back his own may lessen this impact. Celtic have strengthened the squad a little but not greatly strengthened the first XI. With us 4 points ahead and with Walter having teh indian sign over Strachan's Celtic I still make it advantage Rangers. On a final note, in another Hutton thread I was worried we would make Eck style panic buys when we finally pushed through the Hutton deal. It was a large fee and temptation to reinvest must have been high. I am glad that as the right quality of player was not available, we did not sign high profile duds to drain the club of wages without providing anything in a meaningful playing sense. With Rangers in the driving seat, if the talent is not available, save any money ear-marked for transfer fees for the summer transfer window.
  5. Andy whilst some of your points may have merit, it would have been better to put them in a less patronising and idiotic manner. You appear to be clearly swept along by Murray propaganda, but it is unnecessary and unlikely conducive to intelligent debate to litter you're post with stereotyping of fellow fans and sarcasm. Elderslie and Calscot seem to come to some similar idea as yourself without insulting those who disagree.

    New Keeper

Interesting point I hadn't considered. Obviously watching McGregor on a regular basis I rate him, however I think it might take another few months of top quality performances for EPL or other foreign leagues to start taking notice. Could be right though. Ascender also maybe has a point, but I still think Walter must have bent his ear about a serious chance of playing, but I just don't see it.

    New Keeper

I did wonder that. What has Walter said to him. Why would he leave being first choice at Ipswich and 3rd choice for Scotland to sit on our bench. He must have looked at Carroll, a keeper I don't particularly rate but with a good cv, warming the bench. Can't see him getting by McGregor. GK is one of the positions where it is nigh on impossible to dislodge teh guy currently with the gloves, so barring injury/horrific loss of form I can't see him getting a game. Mcgregor is not far off Gordon imo, but will suffer from the same issue at international level that Alexander will have to deal with here.
  8. Been working out to make sure you're ready.
  9. The Celtic transfer dealings don't bother me. Never did whe nwe were inactive early in the window. The league table shows we have the squad. The young Jap and Boro forward will not improve them. It's questionable Samaras will. Robson is a good signing, but was always going to happen. The only thing that has worried me is losing Hutton. If we'd punted Ehiogu, Carroll and Cousin and brung noone in whilst keeping Hutton i'd have been happy with that and confident of a league victory. Keeping any transfer budget til the summer. With our best player away and no decent signings in I am a bit more concerned now. But that is not in relation to their activity. Forgot to add: We've been linked with the Sampdoria forward in previous windows, I recognise teh name, although nothing else of teh player or proposed deals.
  10. Calscot you missed another strong penalty claim for us. When the defender had his arm up over his head to handle the ball when Darcheville flicked it up in the first half. Overall though you're right. In terms of overall cock-ups by the ref's Hearts definitely got the rub of the green. Not that nevin and Collins made that apparent. Nevin still trying to claim a penalty for Nade even though it was clearly outside the box.
  11. Had these comments coming I guess.
  12. That's class. Dunno how I missed that. Was a weird night.
  13. Main commentator: "He jumped like a girl there". In reference to, I think, Palazuelos (sp) just prior to the goal. Can he say that? (Had me in stitches all night btw.) Same man calling Whittaker, Hutton on at least one occassion. Interviewer asks Barry, will WS get to spend any of the Hutton fee, reply: "You'll have to ask the chairman". I.e No! Confirmed when interviewer asked if there'll be any more transfer activity before the window closes, Walter replies; "No not any more players in". On FF they're discussing the Fergie post match interview. How from his comments he's obviously disgusted with Murray for forcing one of our best players out the door and how we wont be spending any of the fee. About his body language and how he was constantly looking down while discusiing Alan's transfer. Anyone read anything into that.
  14. Fair do's.:moon:
  15. Do I get a medal, or even a certificate? Sums it up though doesn't it.
  16. Hemdani was poor first half, but came onto a stormer once we got ahead he helped control the game. Ferguson and Burke clearly played better, playing at a good level throughout the ninety. Ferguson motm, controlled the game, kept Hearts under pressure, drove us forward and scored the important opener. Better passing by his team mates and he'd have had a couple more.
  17. That's the problem though isn't it. We didn't get nearly as many memories as we should have done.
  18. What's the Feb schedule mate?
  19. Can't be right everytime. Calscot; I think the fact that we don't have mountains of cash is shown by the fact that we are reportedly paying a 7 figure sum to our best player to get him out the door, to gain the larger fee. Therefore we really should be shrewd with our cash. In that respect I think that two first choice Cb's covered by Webster and Broadfoot, when we also have a couple of other players who can fill in in that position is plenty. If a decent CB became available then fair enough. But buying a very poor player just for the sake of it does not make good financial sense. Sorry Craig, did not mean to appear rude. I just meant what's the point in buying a player that "heaven forbid" will never play. If we do feel we need cover in that position, then bring in a decent back-up. Now he's here gonna try and leave this. Don't overly enjoy bashing a current player, at least before he's given me reason too.
  20. I was down enough on that as it was, cheers for that Adamski.
  21. Really hope i'm wrong. Good luck to him now he's signed.
  22. Cousin has the potential to be a fantastic player, as proven away to Lyon. Problem is he can't be arsed to play taht way for 99% of games and doesn't want to be here. When a player isn't prepared to work 100% for the team anymore then it's better that he goes. If he was that player against Lyon more often than not then my views would be different. Problem is he more often than not plays like Boyd with fewer goals and that I just cannot get my head around. Really hope he leaves now.
  23. My feelings exactly mate. Nearly all moving in this transfer window have been poor. And because we took so long to force our best player out the door, we've not left ourselves long to use the cash. I would not now be suprised to see us blow the positive of the Hutton transfer (i.e the £8mil it's brung in) by being ripped off for average players. E.g Lafferty. What's the point in bringing in such a high fee if we're going to waste the cash? Hutton to Spurs - Bad for the squad. Cousin potentially staying - Bad for the squad. Even if he scores a couple more. Ehiogu leaving - Good to get his wages off the books. Alexander - Decent cover I guess. Overall 500k deficit on keeper transfers though. Lost our other backup for free (likely) plus Carrolls wages. Daillly potentially in - Terrible, terrible waste of wages. Lafferty in - Ridiculous fee for an untested Burnley player. Rather Luke Moore for that money. We would only get £3mil for Cousin remember.
  24. This sums up the ridiculousness of the arguements of those who are trying to spin this as a good thing. Hopefully everyone sees the stupidity of the above quoted line? I do not think we should by a limited footballer just for the sake of filling the squad. General agreement is that we have a large enough squad and any player should be brought in to challenge for the first team not just to make up numbers. if we are talking versatile players, jack of all trades master of none, I would honestly rather we'd got Murray back in. Dailly has not played a regular, decent game of football in many many seasons.
  25. Go, go, go! The negative effects on current members of the squad mean it's not worth keeping a player who doesn't want to be here, has a bad attitude and rarely shows the true ability he has.
