An interesting bit of commentary from the Aberdeen-Dnipro game was that about 5 of that team will be in the Ukraine side. Gotta boost our confidence. Gordon Hutton Weir McManus Naysmith/McEvely Brown Fergie Robson McCulloch Boyd McFadden THe LB depends on who is getting a regular game as i'm not sure if Naysmith is?

Can smokers not just exercise a bit of self control?

Must be the first time in a while a Scottish club have actually won a tie in europe outwith the OF. Only other one I can think of is Hearts a few years ago.
-
Thought it was a decent, disciplined European performance. Remember what that mob did to Hibs? The goal they conceded was highly unlucky and for the most part Dnipro were reduced to long range efforts, although there were a few belters which struck the woodwork. As Buba says, it was for the continuing good of the Scottish game. There's only 1 "Scottish" team I can't\wont support in Europe and that's the Oirish mhob.

Lyon 0 : 3 Rangers - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
If hrr'd only beaten 3 times in a game playing a side of the quality of Lyon and up against world cup winner (who was probably not far from team of the tournament) Grosso, then I really don't think that's too bad at all. Added to his contribution with the goals and I understand why people were impressed. -
That one was so glaringly obvious it add to be said. As a few have mentioned, you're not the bitter fan we associate with internet wind ups and i'm glad you didn't get offended by the joke. I don't agree that Boruc's actions (if it was merely crossing himself, which I highly doubt) were innocent, but I guess this is one arguement where you wont find a satisfactory resolution on either side.

Time for Some Mild Criticism ââ?¬â?? to Rotate or Not to Rotate?
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
On another day we'd have run out 2/3-1 winners. Of that I have no doubt. These things happen. To the good sides, it doesn't happen that often. -
Time for Some Mild Criticism ââ?¬â?? to Rotate or Not to Rotate?

That is how I view the bad results so far. Although you have to couple the "off day" at Fir park with a superb performance from 'Well. At the minute it is ok to view tose perfromances for the one's off's they were (individually an error by the management team at Hearts and a "poor" day at the office on Saturday). Many more like that though, and we need to look deeper at the problem. -
I'm glad a coupel can see the point i'm trying to make. And I would have had Whittaker dropped for the last coupel of games. The lack of a real pre-season is maybe what's hurting him, regardless he needs a rest. As I've read elsewhere, Wlater trying to let him play through a bad patch is not working out. Agree to re: Beasley, really impressed me for once. About 10 secs before the pen I mentioned he needed to do more with the ball at his feet. I'll try and talk him through every game.

So its ok to cause offence with religion (Boruc) but not political statements. Bit of a mixed up Celtic fan here.

Agreed it all looked to easy. I said to a mate I was watching the game with that that is the easiest i've seen us cut apart. As you say, it looked like Weir was, at least in part, at fault. However was this due to the failings of other players? It's hard to judge sometimes. Can we just put it down to good play from the opposition, or as the mighty Rangers can we never accept that that is the case with a Motherwell goal? Ideally every goal is preventable, realistically they are not. One of the few times I'm not sure who to blame, or even if there is someone definitely at fault. Not watched a replay of it since teh match and have no desire to, but often that helps sort it out.

It's not an "attack" on Hemdani and I apologise if it comes across that way. I'm simply asking if people can try and explain to me (for about the millionth time) how Hemdani would make a difference. I don't think the defficiences (sp) of Saturday's game would've be rectified by the attributes of a player like Hemdani. And he undoubtedly has attributes, but best utilised against a more cultured opposition. We agree that you cannot get a definitive answer as to whether things would've been different had he started, so it is all hypothetical. However, my opinion is his inclusion at, say, KT's expense would not have gained a positive outcome. Ps. Quite often I read/hear things elsewhere, but vent my spleen on Gersnet where there seems to be more cultured debate from those with a different view to my own. What I had written here was a reaction largely to my frustrations from reading "pish" elsewhere online, but where I don't feel sensible debate would be as well practiced. A thousand replies of your a fud would not really satisfy my search for a decent response.

Picked up £20 quid today (Sun) to make up for a tenner lost on sat. Hardly in Craig's league but he makes some games more interesting.

Yesterday 'Well scored one good goal and hit the bar with a dipping freekick. Other than that, despite getting in behind Papac a few times I can't really remember any/many other chances were they should've scored. You could argue that the defensive aspects of the game were not our main downfall yesterday. Remember sometimes you just have to accept the opposition will have periods of pressure and create the odd chance. Upfront, early on Boyd linked well with Naismith and we created some early chances. We also hit the woodwork twice during the game. At HT JCD replaced Whittaker with Nasiy moving right. This left Boyd more isolated with JCD quickly going back off. Boyd was most guilty of missing chances although no real sitters. On another day he would have got another goal or two. From the above it is clear our major failings were in creating and taking chances. Based on this can someone explain how a player who sweeps up in front of the back four intercepting the odd pass and playing the ball backwards or sideways would have made any great change to the outcome, because I cannot see it. I would argue what was missing was an inform Fergie or even more so a Thomas Buffel style player who can play the killer pass or find that bit of space to open up the opposition. Genuinely stumped how Hemdani is the savour of Rangers, regardless of the game, the quality of the opposition and how the individual game is going. As people like to point out with Boyd for example, how standards have fallen if he is the answer. Give me a Stuart McCall in midfield any day. (Ps. He should start in the middle 3 in europe as the trio of BF, KT and BH appear to compliment each other well in these games which suit Hemdani's style of play.)
-
Of course theer will be more poor games this season, irrespective of who plays. And I still don't think that a defensive mid who can't tackle or pass the ball forward would make much of a difference against the style of football most SPL outfits deploy against us.

Nice post BC2, but lets be honest, what McMillan or any idiot on a phone in (most the "Rangers" fans on these things are usually tims at the wind up) said is irrelevant. If the Crown office said it was other gestures I beleive them. It's not like the man has a spotless record is it? Instead of trying to muddy the waters of one incident, you shoudl look at his catalogue of indiscretions and ask why? Even if they got that one wrong, it can make up for all the times he gets away with it; see the Hibs game. The man is an arse, an embarassment to your football club and not as good a keeper as is made out. (Don't get me wrong he's good, but if Dundee was a return to form keep it up). Perhaps if he concentrated more on catching crosses instead of acting like a ned he would be the keeper many claim.

Never said it did any harm. Said it was childish and idiotic. Your final point is irrelevant anyway. Walter clearly doesn't fancy Hemdani in a middle two in the SPL and some fans are going to need to get used to that.
-
Mr Sideways? Revealing yourself as an avid reader of FF there. What always makes me chuckle about that nickname (by the way I think giving our own players derogatory nicknames is childish and idiotic) is that the "hero" of FF, Hemdani is far more suited to such a name. Bit of an og by the anti Fergie brigade to use that one.

Ian Durrant was never manager. Caretaker manager or the like. If we're going to be petty eh. PLG was the worst manager in Rangers history by an enormous length. The part in red is not fact, we can't debate sensibly in rumour. PLG was absolutely horrific for Rangers for numerous reasons and is no longer here. Fergie is. Forget the French coward and support the club captain. The staunch defence of PLG is baffling. If Fergie got PLG sacked on purpose, not that he has the authority, I owe him a pint or two. Was ecstatic the day I heard PLG left.
-
What PLG did to Rangers was pretty disgraceful. Thought we were trying to move on from this? Got rid of the worst manager in Ranger's history (by quite some distance), a positive in my book. Speaking of arrogant wankers >>>>>>>PLG.

Hard to disagree.
