  1. Don't get me wrong. He was a good keeper. But whilst the English tried to convince us he was world class, cream of the crop, he was just good. England didn't have any truly world class keepers during his prime and so tried to make out he was better than he was.
  2. Seaman was overrated. Decent, but not as good as made out and was fortunate to have a very good defence in front of him at club level and most of that defence at international. Made a lot of poor errors.
  3. Alan Thomspon or Mjallby?
  4. Cotter's presumption that we need to go on any sort of run for it to contribute to the fixture congestion is incorrect and is what I pointed out. But thanks for playing. I'm more than capable of reading. Perhaps you should give it a shot.
  5. It's not presumptuous at all. With the way our fixtures are getting called off we wont need to go more than a round or two for it to start causing problems.
  6. Had a look at the full table on the BBC to confirm what you've said above there. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/table/default.stm Bizarre to see that almost half the league have scored more goals away from home than Barceltic. Only 10 goals in 7 games. Hearts have a (slightly) better away record. Having said that, the tims have dropped points in only 1 away game! If the opposition can score against Celtic, though, they must have a good chance of taking something from the tims at home. Despite scoring 2.5x as many goals at home they have dropped points in 3 games. (Though I guess this is skewed heavily by the shameful Aberdeen game). In fact remove the aberdeen game and Celtic have scored 16 in 7 games at home, little better than 2 in 1. They really aren't scoring too many and even at Parkhead if the opponents can get one they're in with a very good shout. Bar the freak Aberdeen game our home record would be better than their's too. Interesting (for me) to look at. Shame it doesn't count for shit when looking at a game on an individual basis as a stand alone event.
  7. Any time they open their mouths you know it is going to be an untruth and the SPL will do what offends the tims the least and not what is best for the SPL member clubs as a whole.
  8. Come on the Hearts. Prob need a cricket score to take second I assume though?
  9. With the rate our games are getting cancelled and the fact that we are at an early stage of the winter fixtures we could end up with an even worse congestion of fixtures than in 2008 and with a squad less capable of dealing with it. Hope this proves to be very wide of the mark though.
  10. 1 - There are numerous fixtures off across Britain including the EPL. So whilst the SPL may be a backwater, a game being called off is not justification for that. 2 - How about they actually earn being top of the league rather than being there merely due to the fact they have played more games and hence had morre opportunity to accrue points. :spl:
  11. That's a bloody good point actually Ian. How could they sentence McGregor in his absence but not the ginger bigot?
  12. Considering we were third seeds in our group they must have realised us finishing third and hence playing in this round of the UEFA cup was the most likely option. You know they would not do this to the tims. Will be interested to see who gets shafted in the split this year.
  13. I assumed it mean first as in premier, not earliest formed.
  14. Conspiracy! :fish:
  15. Bit disappointed with Sporting. Would've been nice to have someone different.
  16. Seems to me that there would be more definite ways of getting sent off though and that another ref may have let him away with a bit of verbals.
  17. Careful or you'll be next on the hit list. :box:
  18. Butcher may have been doing it longer, but i'm not convinced by him as a manager nor a person. I dont Coisty will be doing press conferences in shorts as a manager.
  19. I'm not sure the issue is so great that this thread or some kind of apology thread needs to go into the gerschat forum. This post is in the right forum. If people feel that seriously about things a very small amount of browsing the site would allow them to find this thread. Making an issue out of nothing there imo.
  20. What the hell is that? On the 2nd right?
  21. I think the fact that the discussion on the thread that was accidentally closed led to a poll being created and a thread to discuss the term fenian shows that your views were taken seriously. It also led to adult discussion and the agreement that the members of this board could be trusted to use the term responsibly. The thread was closed, it appears, due to a problem with the new site upgrade or down to user error. As a man who fights against any kind of unnecessary or overbearing moderation I can understand why you were pissed off at thinking someone was trying to censor debate. The fact that you were trying to raise this point via pm with an administrator who was unaware of the thread being closed will have only added to your frustration. However the thread has been reopened since the error was discovered and the overall outcome of this is that a controversial but ultimately acceptable term is no longer censored on the board.
  22. I dunno who Andrew Dickson is tbh, but he's pointing out the obvious. Time for players who we know have class and ability to step up, like Steve Davis, and start performing.
  23. It appears to me from there last couple of posts, that Cumbernauld has missed Norris' point and not the other way around. Norris is not talking about defending our ills because "they're doing it too". He's saying it's a bullshit scenario that only one group can and will be held accountable for their actions an words. Particularly when the word in question is not sectarian, bigotted or as offensive as many others used against us.
  24. One of the better posts i've read in a long time. Good to be talking purely about football and it reminds us what the game is all about.
  25. When he's in Algeria in November you worry if he'll make a game in January!
