To be perfectly honest your analysis of the situation is one many people can buy into... The club have financial problems; the club is for sale; the club can't find a buyer; SDM wants out quickly because MIH are also struggling; and the bank are involved on a day-to-day basis. All these factors are nothing new so why suddenly did Walter speak out last weekend? Why was Donald Muir suddenly appointed? Why are the media (and informed bears) suddenly speaking of impending doom? Is it all a ruse to smoke interested buyers out into the open and expedite a sale? Possibly - even hopefully. Is the financial picture as bad as is being made out? Possibly - perhaps probably. What is for certain is we're no closer to the truth and daily statements from fan groups and supportive comments from the club aren't changing that. That is what worries and irks me most. Roll on December 7th.

Will there be a widespread leaflet campaign from the fan groups at Ibrox this Saturday?
-
Ach we had some patronising statements in the past on the website under SDM as well so difficult to read too much into it...

I think we'll draw 2-2... Really hope we play 4-4-2; Boyd is our best striker right now (even in terms of leading the attack and linking the play) so he must start with someone supporting him. Unfortunately with Lee McCulloch fit again, it is more likely to be a return to 4-5-1.

Coded message of backing for the message banners displayed yesterday perhaps?

Actually most Celtic fans I've spoken to are quite unhappy with Reid's deflection routine... The irony of that is rather delicious. FWIW, I quite enjoyed Bain's riposte as well. Subtle and clever which is exactly how we should react to such issues.

One thing to consider (rumour or not) is that if Miller was sold; that would mean we'd also have Boyd/Novo (both out of contract next summer) and Lafferty/Naismith (both inconsistent and playing deeper for us) left to play up front for the rest of the season....
-
Strachan never sold him to Derby - that was Liewell - and caused a few problems between the parties I'm reliably informed...

Barca models are all well and good (and I'd love to see something workable in that regard) but I'd like to know much more about who is involved and how the scheme would be administered before I contributed my £1000...* * asked wife for £1000.

I'd say an away match versus Dundee Utd is just as much a test as an away match to Unirea... I don't think we'd be any better off with Papac at centre-half and Smith at left back (unless we dropped Weir actually)... Wilson has done well in the last two games while CL game experience and the pressure of important matches would be most beneficial to his (and our) future.

Rather than get into arguments about who did what and when, I'm more interested in the here and now.... Who is the consortium/prospective buyer that the fan groups are in dialogue with and what are their plans for the club that deserve our support?
-
Certainly the kind of money for an ageing inconsistent player that should prove interesting to the board/bank... May even pay for a new contract for Kris Boyd (or probably more likely Nacho Novo)....

Good news. Hopefully a precursor to (a better) RangersTV being re-launched in full...

Depends if the pressure on the banks - apparently successful so far according to the opening post - yields a fair reduction in asking price from the bank - i.e. they accept King's bid of around £20million.
-
Cuellar and Hutton went - as did Ferguson previously. The club may be sold before January but the price asked for it is important as the funds required to keep our operations viable will be a fair amount between January and the summer when the season ticket money comes in. If the club price is £30million that leaves little room for manoeuvre so players may still be sold. If the price is less than that, then players may stay.

Their AGM was today so I'd imagine their accounts will also be available soonest (or already)...

And UCB... Just as well I wasn't about to moan about it appearing on FF only...

Thanks for posting that CB...

Although rbr is correct to say the dismissal of what the Trust tried to achieve is perhaps harsh, I'd agree we do need to change the way our representative groups work. The Assembly has certainly said lately it wants to do that so I guess we can only try and influence that if we really care about how we get our point across. Problem is apathy and excuses of course. That is perhaps the insurmountable obstacle as opposed to actually being able to put together something that could work. How would you constitute a new organisation MF? Not something you can answer in one post on an internet forum but what kind of changes would you make in a generic sense? Genuinely interested in what you (or anyone else for that matter) has to say on the subject. Maybe an article in it...

ascender: King is the main name being linked with the club - I think we can assume that from the plethora of sources (official or otherwise)... As for accurate press on King, I posted this from the SA government in the other thread RE: his tax problems: http://www.info.gov.za/speeches/2008/08110512151003.htm I agree more has to be known before we back his bid fully - although I would also urge fans to pressure the bank if possible.

Of course bartering for something in exchange for their backing is reasonable enough - but that shouldn't done without much forethought and debate. I don't want to come across as negative here (I do back the statement) but I'm just being cautious through experience.
