  1. Cheers Fraser Obviously this will be in our weekly newsletter as well this week given we're trying to reach people who don't post as well as those who do...
  2. Please take a moment to fill out this form... Be gentle... http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/misc.php?do=form&fid=2 Many thanks
  3. Probably not his decision, no. More likely to be enforced upon him given the state of the parent company (MIH)... Should he be thanked for that? Well that is debatable depending on what the actual situation is...
  4. Apparently Murray will not get anything for his shares so the £15-£35million talked about the buy the club is essentially what goes to the bank for their debt...
  5. These lads are always going to be hyped before a variety of factors reduce their potential far enough to result in them leaving. A few manage to drop down the leagues and make us wish we'd kept them but generally, most disappear for ever. PS: McHale played for Dundee against us and did OK - as did Gary MacKenzie who I thought did well when he played a couple of first team games a while back for us.
  6. Do you mean McMillan mate as Lennon didn't play against Dundee? Like you, I heard a lot of good things about Jordan over the years but he didn't do all that ell at Hamilton on loan last season eitther so probably hasn't developed as well as he'd have liked.
  7. Aye, he signed for League One side Oldham on a 3 year contract after doing well for Bradford (in league Two) on loan last season.
  8. The Furman situation is quite ironic. He was offered a new contract but left because he couldn't be guaranteed a game. With a shortage of central midfielders at times this season, he'd probably have been in the team by now...
  9. Nope Lennon is back at Rangers after being on loan at Partick last season. Had a good reputation but didn't do well there at all apparently... Think his contract is up next summer - doubt it will be renewed.
  10. It's funny what people will do when their job is under threat....
  11. I'd like to see more game-time given to the best of the youngsters but we can't afford to be blas© about any competition given the expectations of the support. Wilson and Fleck seem to be the highest rated of our young players. After them there are a few that perhaps haven't progressed as much as they'd like in their time at the club (McMillan, Shinnie, Lowing and Loy) then there are a few that do still have a chance (Ness, Little and Wylde). I'm quite happy at this stage about the amount of game time given to all these lads and hope they can all force their way into contention. Unfortunately, as cal touches on, with players only a few years older than them (Thomson, Edu, Whittaker, Naismith and Lafferty) costing millions; then they should almost always play to help their development as they're still quite young and inexperienced.
  12. I don't like that Sun article - absolutely no mention of the issues at MIH which are probably pretty relevant to what is happening at Ibrox.
  13. S_A will get this up tonight he says...
  14. Negative Nancy! :D I'm pretty positive when it comes to the club but like to think I also have a reasonably realistic outlook when it comes to judging our chances on a game-by-game basis (or looking at the generic situation). Unfortunately, on the pitch, I've not seen anywhere near enough quality or consistency this season - or tactical master-strokes by the manager - to warrant thinking we're going to win. However, I do think we've improved slightly in recent weeks and look a bit more dangerous going forward. As such, on this occasion I'm reasonably confident of a good result but still unsure we'll have the belief or strategy to win the match. Not only that, if I thought were were going to lose a game, I'd quite happily say so. You're right in suggesting there isn't much pleasure in doing that, and definitely take no pleasure in being proved right. However, I also wouldn't find pleasure in blindingly backing the team while ignoring the problems. It would be a boring world if everyone went about with a smile on their face and had the same opinion. And that's what forums are about - opinions. If that means we disagree on occasion then I'm all for it as that is healthy and that is fun!
  15. Because that's what they think the score is going to be... What about the fence-sitters like me? Don't get the over-analysis there mate.... 'Tis only a bit of fun. :spl:
  16. More likely to be around half that. McLeish is a good friend of Muir; they know we're struggling for money; and Davis' form for us has been more sporadic than consistent. Sold to the ginger man with the £2.5million.
  17. To be perfectly honest your analysis of the situation is one many people can buy into... The club have financial problems; the club is for sale; the club can't find a buyer; SDM wants out quickly because MIH are also struggling; and the bank are involved on a day-to-day basis. All these factors are nothing new so why suddenly did Walter speak out last weekend? Why was Donald Muir suddenly appointed? Why are the media (and informed bears) suddenly speaking of impending doom? Is it all a ruse to smoke interested buyers out into the open and expedite a sale? Possibly - even hopefully. Is the financial picture as bad as is being made out? Possibly - perhaps probably. What is for certain is we're no closer to the truth and daily statements from fan groups and supportive comments from the club aren't changing that. That is what worries and irks me most. Roll on December 7th.
  18. Will there be a widespread leaflet campaign from the fan groups at Ibrox this Saturday?
  19. Ach we had some patronising statements in the past on the website under SDM as well so difficult to read too much into it...
  20. I think we'll draw 2-2... Really hope we play 4-4-2; Boyd is our best striker right now (even in terms of leading the attack and linking the play) so he must start with someone supporting him. Unfortunately with Lee McCulloch fit again, it is more likely to be a return to 4-5-1.
  21. Coded message of backing for the message banners displayed yesterday perhaps?
  22. Actually most Celtic fans I've spoken to are quite unhappy with Reid's deflection routine... The irony of that is rather delicious. FWIW, I quite enjoyed Bain's riposte as well. Subtle and clever which is exactly how we should react to such issues.
  23. One thing to consider (rumour or not) is that if Miller was sold; that would mean we'd also have Boyd/Novo (both out of contract next summer) and Lafferty/Naismith (both inconsistent and playing deeper for us) left to play up front for the rest of the season....
  24. Strachan never sold him to Derby - that was Liewell - and caused a few problems between the parties I'm reliably informed...
  25. Barca models are all well and good (and I'd love to see something workable in that regard) but I'd like to know much more about who is involved and how the scheme would be administered before I contributed my £1000...* * asked wife for £1000.
