  1. But mind, your house is at stake! What if he's right? :D But you have to, it's part of the game (abstaining is a no!) If there isn't a big win/loss then you wont evaluate everything afore making yer decision. This is a good evil game :fish:
  2. The game: If you absolutely had to place your house on the outcome of the recent speculation, where would you place it? The purpose of the game: We're all meant to be fairly objective folk here (no sniggering in the back, please). The thing about speculation is, like share ramping, the more noise that's made about something the more you get a feeling of impetus, or like something is increasingly certain. The madness of crowds makes people suspend their judgement and turns hope into feeling of momentum towards a positive outcome. So, the point of the game is - assuming your house or whatever was as stake - decide where to place your bets. It's a zero sum game - those who don't win, lose and vice versa. Have fun while we think about the nature of speculation while getting to indulge it
  3. I don't think anything is being celebrated. We all just want an end to the sorry saga, and the site of that end is a welcome diversion from the nothingness we've been presented with. Whether, when you get to the end, there isn't some evil waiting it's impossible to say. Given that we've no more information than we previously had, there's nout wrong with having a N_L versus wabash battle in the interim.
  4. Other people have mentioned these 'better men than you' before, and I am sure I will stumble across one any day now :spl::fish:
  5. Then you, sir, are a reptile or in a thoroughly air conditioned room because it's fecking roasting today. seriously tho, much fun and excitement.
  6. Not to dramatise your wee stooshy lads but there's really no way out of this for one of you. You've both come out with 100% certain statements that are mutually exclusive. You can't both be right, and one of you is very, very, very wrong. With every minute of the status quo that goes by N_L, it looks like you, but the second it's announced wabash looks like the most confidently wrong person there's ever been. This is almost as exciting as getting a new owner
  7. Me either, but I'm enjoying the intoxication of irrational optimism right now :spl:
  8. Haha, oh. Well, yeah. I'd almost forgot about all that. Best to say no more I think. I'm sure Brutus is in a happier place, tho.
  9. Shit, now there's going to be a huge lull before we hear anything new, or, indeed if we hear anything new. Booo.
  10. Yeah, he just canny take a joke. He'll come round once they drop the charges and find his car.... :robbo:
  11. N_L, give him a ring. Tell him to phone me at work and outline his plans. If he pretends he doesn't know me, just indulge him but insist.
  12. Haha. :spl:
  13. Even if this all goes horribly wrong with Ellis, it's pretty exciting that something's actually happening. All I need is for the backers to be multi-billionaires, now. I'll deal with the lack of fan representation if they're billionaires
  14. Anyone any idea on the track record of the poster?
  15. someone just came into the office to tell me this had happened. prolly all from the same place.

v/ nice. shall certainly be buying:D
  17. Trying to look charitably, you could say that he's just trying to re-enforce he's in it for the good of the club. But, to be honest, my reaction is the same as everyone else's.
  18. Adam scored an incredible volume of goals for us, and arguably as many important ones as Boyd (kidding S_A, kidding! ). He's scored in Europe and against Celtic - he got a mad number of assists in big games. He could definitely be a frustrating player to watch at times, but we're very impatient with people - especially youngsters. I'm glad and pretty unsuprised he's doing well.
  19. That makes sense to me, but, then, I'm so far out my tree.
  20. Reporter A: Wouldn't it be good if this charge happened just as King was about to put a bid in? Reporter B: Yeah, but that didn't happen, did it? Reporter A: Say "King talked to Bain, Johnston and officials" Reporter B: What do you mean say "King talked to Bain, Johnstone and officials"? Reporter A: Thanks Reporter B. Reporter A types "the King consortium was reported to have met with Rangers chief executive Martin Bain, chairman Alastair Johnston and officials of Lloyds Bank" Reporter A: I don't know about you, but that raised my expectations, when you said it there, that a rival bid might be forthcoming Reporter B: Eh? Reporter A types "raising expectations that a rival bid to that of Ellis' might be forthcoming" Reporter B: You can work wonders with that passive construction eh? Reporter A: What can I say? Another 100% true report complete.
  21. This irks me too. I'm not big on business, but it seems like the reason institutions are so rich is because they have sufficient money behind them to bide their time and make money over the long term. There seems to me no sensible reason why they'd want to drain the club. And, perhaps more interestingly, they've never actually said it. We don't know the original business plan, we don't know the panicked revision - we don't even know really whether this is real. Your Murray explanation is one, but there seem to be a million others. Some people have an interest in the fans hating Lloyds, and Lloyds have seem to play down their role at every stage, probably cause they have an interest in not being the baddies in the whole affair. But your point is 100% right. Why the desperation for the money back? Does this desperation even actually exist?
  22. I dunno mate, you have the right sort of temperament. You just need to work your charm and get a few high profile backers. I'd back you, so that's one Although, if it doesn't work out, maineflyer said on the politics thread that he owned a company. That's something like the credentials. Let's have a Gersnet-led takeover attempt.
  23. It is. Though I guess part of the problem is that someone has to take the money, and decide how it's going to be used. I wouldn't give my money to the RST. I would honestly be more willing to support a club-run initiative that guarenteed to put every penny raised into players, if enough was raised, or something tangible like paying for some youth thing. Of course, a club run thing just looks like revenue generating, whereas if fans done it independently it would be more easy to get involved, feeling like you were doing something novel. It's just a question of who'll take the lead. Personally I think you should do it Frankie.
  24. Great post pete.
