Why not apply that same principle to all the other players? I just don't understand this need to single out certain players for special scrutiny. It's absurd.

It's a classic example of supporter derangement. Willie Johnston, Tommy McLean and Davie Cooper were probably better than any winger we have today and Cooper in particular was notoriously inconsistent. No doubt his failure to deliver stellar performances every week would see calls for him to be dropped today. It seems the better the player, the greater the intolerance of the supporter but I suppose that's what it's all about though. We supporters are all deranged to some extent, it goes with the territory. -

Not everyone netted by your generalisation can be expected to come quietly. Some tattooed little fishies will wriggle and flap for ages. Besides, self-awareness isn't a blessing that annoints everyone who needs it.. -
Ha ha I know exactly what you mean. Hellish memories.

Jack has a contract? Wtf does Martin Bain think he’s doing?
-
Yes, apparently there's no place for him because he doesn't fit into our way of playing.

My vote goes to the thoroughly inept John Lundstram, who once again showed what a no-hoper can do. We should sign more of then.

Bloody Lundstram, never good enough for Rangers. Seriously, when even Borna Barisic starts passing the ball forward you know things are looking up. -

Just when you think the standard of refereeing can't get any worse ....... it does. -

I'm expecting big things from Ryan Kent tonight. He should have got a big lift from his performance against Hearts. He can start by scoring the first goal for my GPL entry. -

Too often we have melted away when teams get in our faces, which is what happens when we lack appetite for the battle. That’s why Ryan Jack stands out - he’s a Rangers fan and he knows what this club is about - he would have fitted seamlessly into our NIAR teams. Too many others have been found wanting in critical games. -

Maybe it says more about me but I've always thought of tattoos, body piercings and BMW M3's as camouflage for low self-esteem, badges of inadequacy. You just hope they make their owners feel better about themselves. -

She’s a callous little shit and no mistake. -
I think (hope) Jack and Lundstram will now be our preferred starting deep midfield pairing, with Davis back up and Kamara competing for a more advanced berth with Arfield, Aribo and Ramsey. God knows when our defence will stop the occasional crazy moments but for the foreseeable future we need this re-discovered solidity in midfield to support them.

I didn't intend to denigrate Calvin Bassey, who I've praised many times. As far as I'm concerned he's our first choice left back. What I would hate this to do is arrest his progress to being a much better players week in week out, although I'm sure our coaching staff will be well on top of that. So far so good with Bassey but he is prone to moments of silliness and needs to work on his decision making.
