  1. For a team that's conceded the first goal in each of its last 6 games, it might be an idea to either play more defensive fullbacks or add more cover for them from midfield. We can't go on allowing easy crosses into our goal area and leaving our two central defenders so exposed to counter attacking forwards. Yesterday was a tactical failure more than individual failures in defence.
  2. You could have added McLaughlin for McGregor, Bassey for Barisic, Lundstram for Kamara, Jack for Davis and Wright for Kent.
  3. Kamara was a waste of a shirt today.
  4. In retrospect it was a predictable result after putting the squad under the control of lesser men, who simply picked the team they imagined Gerrard would have fielded, without any regard for the opposition in question. I'm going to go against the grain to an extent and say I think it's harsh to place Goldson in the same category as the likes of Tavernier. Too often our central defenders were left totally unsupported against two very pacy forwards, with both fullbacks often upfield and scant protection from midfield. It was also noticeable that at corners it was always Goldson who was striving to get to the cross ball. Either Jack or Lundstam should have started in a defensive midfield role and only one fullback should have been forward at one time.
  5. Enough of the “this team won the league last season” patter. Last season is long gone.
  6. Maybe now we see why Gerrard grabbed the first passing lifeboat.
  7. Piss poor team selection combined with a complete absence of meaningful tactics and too many uncommitted players. Good luck Gio, you’re going to need it. Disgusted.
  8. The silver lining is that they’ve made it easy for the new manager to see where the weak links are
  9. You’re 2 goals down against a packed defence and you leave players like Hagi and Wright on the bench. I give up trying to understand the mentality of coaches
  10. I’m afraid it looks like our captain might be passing his sell by date
  11. We should be getting rid of Defoe at the earliest opportunity. It’s clear he’s added nothing this season, either as player or coach.
  12. Notify the Stock Exchange? Hell they didn't even discuss it with their own shareholders at their AGM. The denial is total.
  13. Like the Scottish Cup final in 1969, I've never really got over the loss to Hibs in the 2016 final. Sunday will go some way to putting that right. I have little fear about the result, in fact we may win by a surprisingly large margin.
  14. Rangers 2 Hibernian 0 FGS - Morelos
  15. This is excellent news. The influx of fresh faces should stimulate what has been a flat first team squad and hopefully get them on their toes again.
  16. Whatever the circumstances of Gerrard's leaving, I believe we should take enormous encouragement from the way the club has responded, both in terms of the outcome and the professionalism with which the process was conducted. Rangers has come a long way under this board and I feel we're stronger for the events of the last fortnight.
  17. It still says Trevor Stevens.
  18. You're kidding
  19. Need to get this topic title changed.
  20. Oh fucking COME ON !!!!!!! Put us out of our misery Rangers.
  21. There's been a stark contrast between previous searches for a manager and the speed (and apparent preparedness) of the board as it sought to fill the vacancy that was only confirmed 5 days ago. If we land our man this week I think Ross Wilson will have moved with commendable urgency. This feels like another sign of our ongoing recovery.
  22. Board meeting to approve funding of variation to previously agreed transfer budget? Or more likely it's just bullshit
  23. You're not the only one. I'd also be relieved to see a Rangers man like Kevin Thomson involved at a senior level.
  24. Calum Davidson's stock has certainly risen. I wouldn't be surprised if this is his last season in Perth.
