  1. Kamara and Barisic at walking pace ffs
  2. One fucking snow shovel. SPFL at its best 🤣
  3. We seem unable to maintain any tempo in our game these days, it seems to stem from certain players being intimidated when pressed. Big test coming up for Goldson after a poor first half.
  4. Is Jack Simpson the latest player with a target on his back then? I keep hearing stuff like this about Simpson, though I've no idea why. Simpson seems like a decent centre back who needs more game time and who's shown no less than Goldson or Balogun did with the same number of games under their belts. Gerrard's decision not to include him in the Europa League squad was pretty ridiculous.
  5. Hell of a lot of money for a go-between and a comfort blanket. You'd think a senior position like assistant manager should have a few more objective deliverables than that.
  6. You and me both. I expect it to be exceptional. 😁
  7. Players play and fans react to how they play. In McGregor's case, the calls for him to be dropped were a straightforward reaction to a run of poor performances followed by an awful one. Last night he had a better game and today no one is calling for him to be dropped. Fans are not clairvoyant, we can't make judgements on what hasn't happened yet, only what we witness. You, on the other hand, are trying hard to be smart after the event, which isn't really so smart at all.
  8. Livi 0 Rangers 2 FGS - Sakala
  9. I always wondered what Gary McAllister's role was under Gerrard, other than filling in at pressers and the like. It always looked like the main coaching and tactical support came from elsewhere. Assistant managers seem to be a bit like US vice presidents - they don't actually do anything and are sometimes chosen on the basis of not posing any threat to the incumbent, the difference being that in football the sidekick usually buggers off with the main man when he goes.
  10. Looks like GvB asked Gerrard to pick the team. It will be a miracle if we take anything from this game but as always hope springs eternal
  11. He’s been sorely missed
  12. It may not be the answer but it's clear we need alternative tactics and here's how I see it ........... McLaughlin Patterson - Goldson - Balogun - Bassey Jack - Hagi - Lundstram - Aribo Wright - Sakala I'm all for attacking width, whether it comes from fullbacks or midfield, but our big issue right now is a powderpuff defence and it's crucial we stop exposing ourselves to free crosses into our box and having our central defenders pulled wide to cover for absent defenders. If fullbacks are going to go forward then we need to get back to having discipline in midfield to cover for them - we used to be good at that but since Jack's injury it seems to have gone all to hell. The last few months have shown what suckers we are for losing goals to fast-transition counter attacks. We need to set up to stop losing easy goals or we'll never regain the confidence that's so obviously absent at the moment. We also need to assert our pace up front - we have it in abundance but we seldom benefit from it because we spend too much time chasing endless ineffective crosses into packed opposition penalty areas.
  13. If that's what we field then we'd be as well not turning up.
  14. I think we’ve had enough of our predictably vacant defensive flanks being exploited as they have been this season. We either need a huge improvement in defensive discipline or we need attacking width to be available from other positions. Or both.
  15. If GvB has any aspiration to win the dressing room, he would be wise to move Goldson on at the earliest opportunity.
  16. That would also have the benefit of allowing a more stable defence.
  17. For me, the most telling thing about Goldson's interview was that it should have been our captain who faced the media after a humiliation like that. But it's been a long time since we had a captain at Rangers.
  18. Nationalists vote for any nitwit put in front of them. Just like Labour before them.
  19. You can understand the reluctance to want to see McGregor dropped. For many fans it feels like disloyalty to a great club servant. However, the very best managers take these difficult decisions in their stride and one thing that marks out Gerrard's tenure has been his apparent reluctance to address approaching storms before they arrive. McGregor is one, the captaincy is another. Then there's the decline of Morelos and Davis, the reluctance to allow Patterson to develop as he could, and more. The result has been a squad that's become stale and has lost it's dynamism. It's not about money for recruitment, this has always been the hallmark of the inexperienced manager.
  20. There was nothing in that press conference that informed anyone, nor should we have expected any surprises. What we need to see are tangible changes in the team and tactics that make tomorrow look a better bet than today.
