  1. It's much worse than that. It wouldn't matter who the opposition is or how good they are - splitting the opposition vote three ways almost guarantees an SNP win. Either the opposition cooperates (which they won't) or the nationalist vote splits (of which there's no sign). It's perfect storm stuff.
  2. She's clearly terrified of independence, which is why she's done everything in her power for the last 7 years to avoid any chance of it ever happening. Even if she's eventually forced into trying to hold a second referendum .... she won't get it ... and even if she does, she won't win it ... and even if she wins it she won't go ahead with it unless there's a guaranteed path to relinquishing independence by joining the EU. The is no one in the SNP who will even contemplate an independent Scotland. The only thing the SNP wants is a continuation of it's own seat on the gravy train.
  3. Ah gotcha. Probably because in pursuit of a comic book myth of kilts and pibrochs we’ve elected some of the biggest chancers ever to hold public office. They have no idea what they’re doing.
  4. With about 90% of the population vaccinated, that’s hardly a statistical surprise
  5. At the moment it’s pure conjecture that it’s a Rangers fan.
  6. and......?
  7. Yet more dilution for those promoting fan ownership.
  8. It's also possible Alfredo will be with us for another season or two, especially if his contract is upgraded. This might actually be the best solution for everyone although no doubt cash will talk loudest in the end.
  9. Fair point. However, it's one thing to say he costs too much or there are too many other players available in his role, it's altogether a different matter to say he's not good enough when there's simply no basis for it. I've been around long enough to recognise when certain players are targeted for criticism for no good reason and before you know it half the support is parroting the same groundless guff. It's hard to believe but I actually remember when people used to criticise Josh Windass.
  10. That definitely needed said. Perhaps, in the current absence of a more suitable candidate for the traditional witch hunt, it's just John Lundstram's turn. Because it's only a few weeks since he was getting MOTM votes on here and general praise across the wider support. As for the nonsense that even if Lundstram is OK, he simply doesn't fit into our team .... God help me. I think we can all agree that, if Lundstram left tomorrow, someone would immediately be targeted to take his place. What the hell is wrong with people?
  11. Euros or sterling? Edit - sorry, didn't notice the link. Sterling it is.
  12. The message from the Nathan Patterson transfer is clear for any good young players who want to build their careers.
  13. Pull that off and we'd better think up a song in praise of Ross Wilson.
  14. Only if you get to the front of the hand-ripping queue.
  15. Tbh, who cares? Once he's gone, he's gone and our concerns should focus on those who stay.
  16. Players come, players go. Few ever leave as big a hole as some fans think they will. Players have to be pragmatic about their careers, managers have to be pragmatic about the performance and evolution of their team. There's little room for sentimentality, only fans have that luxury.
  17. I hope this actually happens. We've let too many transfer windows go past without doing what we absolutely know we must ... raise money by selling players at significant value. To do this with someone who isn't a regular first team player is as impressive as the good news that we are no longer using the Martin Bain valuation guide.
  18. The SPFL and Sturgeon must have a hotline to the weather gods because they obviously know there will be no weather cancellations this winter. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it arrives around the middle of January.
  19. The confirmation that, on returning from a few years in the wilderness, nothing fundamental had changed in Scottish football and Rangers still sit on top of the pile.
  20. No matter how assimilated they might appear, there seems to be an endless reservoir of pique lurking beneath every black skin. Some reveal it more readily than others. This is a case in point, albeit Ian Wright is plumbing new depths of fantasy to make it. This could be the most contrived and witless example yet.
  21. Can't disagree with Caldow but it's a brave move to play him at right back
