  1. He should have started against Aberdeen but failing that he should have been brought on after 20 minutes when it became clear we weren't competing in midfield. As for the nonsense, it must just be his turn because nothing he's done justifies the criticism being aimed at him.
  2. MOTM for me was John Lundstram who was involved in everything and maintained tempo at least as well as those regulars he replaced.
  3. Like religion, there's no reason why I would even know a player's political views, nor would I want to since they're paid to play football, not tout politics. Unlike religion, in the unlikely event a Rangers player started making pro-nationalist statements in public then I think, like most of the support, I would feel genuinely uncomfortable having him represent us. But as you're well aware, that's entirely different from the issue of supporters. The interests of Rangers and the SNP are so diametrically opposed and the contempt of nationalists for Rangers is so clear and profound that to claim to support both inevitably means compromising your views on one or the other. It's practically impossible to pull wholeheartedly in opposite directions and any time I have seen someone try, nationalism has always been the priority cause. I know how fashionable it is to want to appear reasonable and virtuous but this is really a very straightforward issue. Scottish nationalism detests Rangers and hasn't hesitated to show it, I support Rangers and detest Scottish nationalism. Being mealy mouthed about it is inappropriate and completely unnecessary.
  4. No worries. I’ll easily live with your criticism and won’t hesitate to continue highlighting the incompatibility between Rangers and nationalism.
  5. The Everyone Anyone campaign has many virtues but I don't think one of them is to stop us thinking for ourselves or abandoning reality. I also don't think it's intended to include everyone and anyone who wishes ill on our club. Y'know, like the SNP.
  6. Far too much time has been wasted virtue signalling and trying to appear 'reasonable' towards these twats who purport to support Rangers and vote SNP. One of the things I've learned in life is never ever to confuse your friends with your enemies and always to treat each accordingly. Anyone who votes SNP and tells you he/she supports Rangers is either a liar or so deeply compromised as to be worthy only of contempt.
  7. Aye, a real shifty looking sort.
  8. I have to say I quite enjoyed the game last night. It was good to see Cedric Itten and Leon Balogun back in harness, looking fit and sharp. And it was interesting to see Juninho Bacuna again - I thought he was hesitant and lacked balance in a poor first 60 minutes, before suddenly (it seemed) finding his rhythm and showing more of what is required of him. John Lundstram must have enjoyed his evening because he had so many touches and strolled through the game, like he should do against that opposition. Alex Lowry (who?) was a sensation from the minute he came on; when his image came up on the big screen before kickoff he didn't even have a game shirt on, like some kind of afterthought, included in the squad purely for experience. Little did I know. I wonder what the deal was playing Jack Simpson at fullback - last throw of the dice? Sadly, Brandon Barker contributed little and probably only confirmed his imminent exit. The highlight of the evening was definitely sharing the evening with my son and grand daughter, who was making her first visit to Ibrox. It seems no time since that was me at my first game, the youngest of three generations sitting together. It's wonderful to think they might enjoy being part of Rangers as much as i have. The downside was Tav missing that penalty and f**king up my GPL prediction.
  9. Sorry but Calvin Bassey is nowhere near good enough as a central defender. He's done OK and might be receiving praise because he stepped into the breech and did better than generally expected but he never will be the solution. He might be the LB we need - that remains to be seen but it clearly is his position. The truth is the squad as a whole needs ongoing development and that won't happen by 'making do'. However, I do agree our priorities lie in midfield, which seems to have lost the balance of last season.
  10. I wouldn't give Hearts a penny more than we have to. We've got our man, we can wait. F*ck them.
  11. It's time Clancy was removed from refereeing all Rangers games. Some may think he's incompetent, I think he's an inveterate cheat but, either way, his record of abysmal refereeing can't be allowed to continue.
  12. It's unlikely but I certainly wouldn't mourn its passing. The added bonus would be not having to hear that grindingly awful 'national anthem'.
  13. The clubs are where they earn their living so I think this is a definite 'yes'.
  14. The established wisdom that international football should always take precedence is something that needs to be looked at and reassessed at every level. The vast majority of international games have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on tournament qualification or trophy destination and the burden being placed on clubs is becoming ridiculous. One thing I would change immediately is that players from one FIFA area who are contracted by clubs in another area should no longer be eligible for selection for their national team. That would stop this crazy situation where clubs fund the player but on a whim and national association can deny clubs a return on that investment. It would also mean that national sides might actually represent and reflect the domestic progress of that country.
  15. Is anyone keeping score? How many have been convicted no and how many are pending?
  16. I felt if he was going to play Sands then he had to play Lundstram as well and sacrifice either Hagi, Kent or Wright. You could clearly see the problem after 20 minutes and it should have been changed then. I don't expect a manager to get it right all the time but I do expect him to recognise and react to any mistakes. GvB's unwillingness to implement changes everyone could see were needed has left me with an unfamiliar uneasiness.
  17. I thought Morelos was superb in a drab team performance.
  18. I think you can judge our midfield formula by the freedom Scott Brown had to perform pantomime while strolling through the game without breaking sweat. I felt it wasn't the players who were selected, so much as completely the wrong tactical approach from our manager. Hopefully he learns quickly. Can you imagine Walter Smith sending that formation out at Aberdeen?
  19. Rangers 5 Binos 0 FGS - Fashion Junior
  20. Fifty-odd years watching us at Pittodrie told me our midfield set up was far too thin for the challenge we knew we would face. Our defence generally played well, as did Morelos - everything in between was completely outgunned.
  21. Perhaps it's the need to explain a relatively poor showing last night but I think we are grossly overstating the importance of Joe Aribo, albeit he is in a particularly rich vein of form at the moment. The truth is that while Joe is an important part of our best eleven, that's all he is. If our fortunes depend on the presence or absence of one player then it will be a long time before we win anything again.
  22. No way would I introduce Sands in a game like this.
