  1. I don't know if he'd go or not but I definitely think he's the one Gerrard would want.
  2. I see Jan Wouters is being tipped to be GvB's assistant
  3. If it's going to be anyone it will be Tavernier, with Kent and Kamara close behind.
  4. Betting suspended on GvB
  5. Seems only money could stop it being GvB but this isn't like signing a player, you don't low ball your choice of manager.
  6. Ferguson Wenger Guardiola Mourinho Klopp
  7. Everyone has their preferred choice but I think most of those being touted could secure number 56
  8. Just glad it hasn't dragged on. Now we can focus on what actually matters - our next manager. Whoever it is, the one thing I hope they bring is strength of character, we've seen enough managers and players melt under the pressure this club brings.
  9. It's confusing just how much managerial experience is required to be a successful Rangers manager? Scot Symon, Jock Wallace, Graeme Souness, Walter Smith, Steven Gerrard.
  10. There's a fair chance Gerrard will never manage Liverpool.
  11. Experience never guarantees success, as football shows us every week. It's not enough on it's own but by far the most important aspect of management is the character of the man himself. Our best managers have all shown that to be true.
  12. Keven Thomson as assistant manager would be an absolute no brainer. If not the manager himself, we MUST have committed Rangers people around him. If KT was appointed manager it wouldn't break my heart.
  13. It's can be a frustrating and frequently bumpy road supporting Rangers but the more I think about current events the more I think this might be the best thing for both Rangers and Gerrard. The way the team of last season has been unable to lift itself since the summer break was starting to tell a story that perhaps none of us wanted to listen to. I've been starting to doubt whether we are able to win the league this season the way things have gone so obviously stale. With Warburton and Caixinha still clear in the memory it would be strange not to be concerned about what a replacement manager will bring but I'm hoping the current board will better recognise what is needed. Time to look forward.
  14. Presumably a new manager will come with a new back room staff
  15. I can’t believe no one is looking at a possible Gerrard departure and seeing an opportunity. It’s entirely possible his replacement will bring far more success. While there has to be a vacancy to leave for, I think it has been apparent for some weeks that all hasn’t been well in our football club since the summer and the timing of this departure is, for me, we’ll beyond coincidence.
  16. Now that the spell has been broken, if you could magically remove the risk inherent in every new appointment then I'd just as soon crack on and address the inevitable sooner than later. That's a big "if" of course but the truth is we've only gone backwards since winning the league. If Gerrard does stay at Rangers I think he'll now find patience is a bit thinner than it was.
  17. His coaching abilities will already be well understood at Rangers, he knows the club and it's never too early for the right move. I'd say he should be on the list.
  18. 3 pts behind Man Utd in 6th place - I'd call that doing well at a club like Southampton
  19. How to alienate your supporters.
  20. I feel the same. I'd rather not be changing managers in mid season but I've had a feeling for a while of the team being stuck in a rut and unable to move forward. It's always a risky time (Pedro) but this could be a chance to make progress again.
  21. I think he would bite your arm off for it.
  22. Yes, those were dreadful days
  23. Behave!
