match thread (image) [FT] Rangers 3 - 2 Braga (Hagi 67, 82; Aribo 75)

What does Gerrard think about this? Players who were playing out of their skin a few weeks ago are now letting him down badly. It’s gutless. We had at least four passengers in that first half and for the second time since the break Kamara has all but deserted his post. -

If Kamara appears for the second half I will be extremely fucking pissed off. -

Same old utter shite in midfield. Kamara and Davis both sloppy, giving the ball away for fun. Could be a brutal lesson tonight. -
Plenty of criminals here.........

My guess is Braga will look to win this tie at home in the second leg and won't be too adventurous at Ibrox. They'll probably focus on counter-attacking tonight and unfortunately we look very ill-disposed to deal with fast breaks against us, so I think they'll get some joy from that. -

To be honest, I'm far more concerned with our own situation than anything happening at Braga. I've seen some great teams crumble at Ibrox and I've also seen poor teams beat us out of sight. It's all about the Rangers! -
Of course I do, I thought that was obvious.

I don't think his criminal record can be "alleged". Either he has one or he doesn't.

Press Conference | Steven Gerrard James Tavernier | 19 Feb 2020
Bill replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I listen to Gerrard and watch his body language and I'm left in no doubt he's very much a natural leader. I do the same with Tavernier and unfortunately I just don't see it. -
In which case the finger definitely needs to be pointed at the management, not Traynor.

We all want the best outcome and hope springs eternal. However, I look at our lacklustre form since the winter break and compare it with that of the opposition ... and I can't find any rational basis for expecting us to beat Braga. Much as I wish it was otherwise, I don't give us a cat's chance in Hell of progressing further. Right now I'm just hoping we don't embarrass ourselves by getting thrashed. That's how I feel about it and unless this manager and these players have undergone a complete transformation since the weekend, I see absolutely no reason to think differently. -
Exactly .... which is why I'm saying that simply lashing out at Traynor as if poor PR was down to him is entirely missing the point of our problems.

I really like the news of a new club website and online store. Massively overdue, as is the upgrade of Rangers TV previously announced.
-
If we structure the contract requirements properly it shouldn't matter who we enter into it with. Our problems today stem from entering into a contract with SD that doesn't meet our requirements but does appear to give SD what it wants. Presumably, if the SD contract did meet our requirements then we wouldn't have a problem with it.

If Traynor did it then whoever approves his work should be out the door. Where does this idea come from that Traynor acts on his own authority. To the best of my knowledge no competent management would ever allow a PR employee or a contracted PR company to issue public statements without the prior and specific approval of the board or the CEO.

Portugal leaders rally around racially abused soccer player
Bill replied to Bluedell's topic in Rangers Chat
Like I said, very woke. However, you know as well as I do if Morelos wasn't black he would still be receiving abuse. The fact he is black is just a convenience for people who's primary objective is to abuse a top Rangers player. All the identitarian shite about race, gender or whatever doesn't deflect one iota from the core issue ... a divided society full of tribal hatred - stoked by bigots, enacted by morons. The more we prattle on about racism, the more we perpetuate the sad little myths in this sad little country. -
Portugal leaders rally around racially abused soccer player
Bill replied to Bluedell's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm sure it sounds incredibly woke to point out all this racism but anyone with half an ounce of honesty knows that there's probably very little actual racism involved in Scotland ... other than perhaps the nationalist hatred of the English. That doesn't mean there isn't a very real problem. What Morelos and many like him are suffering is the cold, bitter expression of sectarian bigotry and deep-rooted tribalism. He's being attacked at every turn but not because he's black. It's clearly and only because of his association with Rangers. If Morelos didn't play for Rangers he wouldn't be attracting these racist comments. If he wasn't black but was still Rangers star player then they'd be howling some other abuse at him. The people who shout racist abuse at football generally don't direct the same comments at their own black players ... any more than Rangers fans abused Jorg Albertz or Lorenzo Amoruso for being catholics. No, the problem here is two-fold. Firstly that too many people are so caught up in the hate-filled fabric of petty lives that they do things like this - anything like this - any excuse to vent their spleens at "the other side". Secondly, that there is a receptive public only too willing to perpetuate the situation by pretending this sort of thing is genuine racism, rather than just another example of the squalid nature of much of Scottish society. Ask yourself, for example, why something as patently corrupt as the SNP has prospered without a semblance of achievement. -
Hopefully it will be 5 stories

Kamberi looked better than Morelos when he came on. He had better balance, showed better control of the ball and made better decisions. I didn't expect that but I have to say he was impressive. -
Craig Whyte isn't even near the top of the list of people I hold responsible for Rangers' troubles/

The only surprise in any of this is there are so many people still listening to Off The Ball or anything else from BBC Scotland's sports clique. Nothing in this world could persuade me to put myself through the bigoted tedium of OTB or Sportsound. I remember thinking it was shite back in the 1990's, which was probably the last time I listened to it.

For Gods sake take Morelos off. And take Kent off too.
