The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
Bill replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
We shouldn't just be developing young players to play in our first team. They're also a trading commodity and a potential source of significant income for years to come, even if they never play first team football for Rangers.. -
There's a doctoral thesis in there for anyone with the inclination.

Personally, I’d prefer to see a U.K. FA, a U.K. league system and a U.K. national team. It’s the only way the game here will ever be pulled out of its ongoing corruption and endless decline. -
This is Scotland. Football isn’t run for the benefit of the sport and refereeing isn’t about being fair or correct. VAR won’t be used to ensure correct decisions. It will be used to achieve the desired outcome. Everything else is, why would VAR be different.

With the complete redevelopment of Parkhead funded by every other club in Scotland. Hail Hail.

I wonder at what number the SFA and the Scot Govt think there is anything to investigate? -
You’re right and those who aren’t interested are entitled to their apathy. The rest of us are entitled to want a supporter group that actually represents our and the club’s interests, rather than appearing to represent its own organisers.

Why would Motherwell have agreed to sell to Celtic when they could have got more money elsewhere with apparent ease?
-
The BBC rally convinced me the same old territorial flaws still permeate our main supporters group, which still seems isolated from the main issues facing Rangers. Sadly, the same could be seen here, with some members immediately rubbishing the initiative because it came from VB. it’s beyond frustrating.

Please let it be Niederkorn. That's a ghost that needs laid to rest for good. -
To be honest, this article says very little new but it does say it in a way that focusses on the breadth of our challenges, which is a very valuable contribution. Perhaps the part that most caught my attention is quoted above. We've wasted years now, fretting away our energies over share ownership and seats on boards, while paying little more than lip service to the powerful contribution our supporters groups could be making with respect to the media and the SFA/SPFL. Perhaps it's just a coincidence but while the Club1872 website proudly announces the number of shares it owns, nowhere could I see a mention of how many members it has.

Good luck to him. It's a very big step up for Mr Ojo. I hope he's got more about him than Ovie Ejaria. -
Nah, better to cover all bases and at least have a chance of being all things to all men ?

It's not just about a bigger stadium but our ability to evolve as stadium facilities change. I guess with enough money you could do anything but it must be less efficient to try to work around an existing structure built decades ago.
-
Young players like Middleton, jones, Docherty, etc are a foundation for the next generation at Ibrox. We always said Rangers should be developing young players and this is us doing that. Some will obviously travel faster than others but I don't think we will be pushing Docherty into our first team next season. Another loan season at a higher level would seem more productive in the long term.
-
People are generally afraid of change, even for the better, and prefer to invest enormous sentimentality into the familiar. I must admit I would also be reluctant to move from the current stadium but any talk of major improvements without doing so are probably a waste of time. Since we don't have the money anyway it's purely an academic question.

Two newish managers, two teams in transition. As far as I can see everything depends on recruitment this summer and how well each manager can integrate them into their team. For the first time in many years I think we go into the new season with a fair chance of winning the title. Rangers - evens Celtic - evens Aberdeen, etc - don't make me laugh.
-
Why do we need big screens at all?
-
How would everyone feel about leaving the current Ibrox and moving to a new site, as we've done in the past?
-
How little many of us have to complain about. Compassion is all we have to offer those like Fernando who’ve been dealt a poor hand. So very sad.
