The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
Bill replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I suppose it's because the only kind of quitter people tend to tolerate is the one who can admit they just weren't up to the task. -
Women playing men's sport is always poor by comparison and never worth the money. It's the same with women's cricket. Somehow they get away with it in tennis although I've never understood why.

Kenny Miller on agony of leaving Rangers out of the back door with a bin bag
Bill replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If not lining to wish Kenny Miller well as he hauled his bin bag out the door was the greatest mistake by Rangers directors these last ten years or so then we would be a very fortunate club indeed. Frankly, I think we have bigger issues to fret over than Kenny Miller, who would no doubt have been fully consoled by the bank account he had on leaving Rangers. That he continues to run to the tabloids about his time at Rangers is somehow lifting any interest I might have had. -
I’m sure the new SFA President will be well placed to educate the Hibs owner on the priorities of Scottish football. ?
-
And quite right too. I'm sure Gerrard is more aware of that than most and would expect nothing else.

Looks like one of their pre-approved rainy-day stories that was written months ago, to be used when the subeditor is too drunk to turn up -
What you're saying is that any decision will be based on self-interest, which I agree with entirely. Loyalty to self, whatever the carefully manicured public image, will always trump loyalty to club/employer. Whether Gerrard stays or goes will not be based on any sense of loyalty that fans could relate to. For that reason, I also can't see him entering the lottery of Newcastle Utd.
-
The very idea of someone like Gerrard being driven by a sense of “loyalty” to Rangers is laughable, the kind of naivety that ignores the world around us, the sort of sentimentality that persuades people to believe Rangers is still a major attraction to top football people. Those days are long gone.

Celtic Boys Club manager 'stuffed banknotes in boy's mouth'
Bill replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Would it come as a major surprise if the police, the judiciary and half of Holyrood were up to their necks in the same sordid game? -

Sturridge in this league? He’d last ten minutes and spend the rest of the season in traction. Definitely avoid. -

Seems that way -

It's quite amazing how the news flow on Celtic abuse has all but dried up. It's been effectively buried. Only on forums like this do you see it mentioned now. -

Can't see what could possibly be wrong with that. -

You'd think journalistic integrity would require full and frank disclosure of the actual "terms" used ? -
The Restoration of Rangers Graves Project and the Sandbank Loyal RSC.
Bill replied to The Moonlighter's topic in Rangers Chat
Out of interest, is there any evidence that this fantastic restoration project has attracted a reaction from the dark side? Are restored graves ever the subject of vandalism? -
Surprised to see so many prepared to leave Ryan Jack out of a starting lineup, considering he was one of the key cogs in the wheel last season.
-
Is “split the bench” a euphemism then? ?

How do we know any of these players are female? I’d like to see proof with my own eyes ?

The Earth's not flat, or round, or ovoid or any other geometric shape. The distance from centre of the planet to the surface is defined by the strength of the gravitational field at every point. Gravity varies considerably from place to place, according to what lies below the surface. With an exaggerated vertical scale to make it more obvious and no conspiracy theories involved, this is what the Earth actually looks like ... it's called the geoid .... and shows what the surface would look like if the planet was entirely covered in water .....

This isn’t women’s sport. This is women playing a men’s sport.

Better than any of that, it's accurate.
