  2. Agreed. How about Club1872 selling its shareholding and making a soft loan to the club - to be converted to shares within, say, ten years?
  3. We'll miss Candeias. But in the way of these things, not nearly as much as some seem to think.
  4. Good luck to you Daniel Candeias. You came, you played, you left. You moved on, now we do too.
  5. How do escalators cope with the huge crowds at mass transit systems like London's underground?
  6. Ditto. I eventually moved from CD5 to the Main Stand, mainly because of that awful bloody climb but also my shins could no longer take the bashing from the seat about six inches in front.
  7. I've abandoned and deleted Tapatalk altogether simply because it no longer seemed to serve any purpose.
  8. I'm less concerned by occasional bad form than I am by our inability to dig out three points when our form does dip. All our championship winning teams had that ability but in recent years when we struggled with form you just knew the points were gone. Partly it's attitude but also requires the quality of player that can provide a moment of inspiration. It remains to be seen whether recent signings have taken us where we need to be.
  9. Despite my Laudrup confusion, I'm reasonably sure Albertz did make his debut against Arsenal at Ibrox in (I think) a 3-0 win. I also seem to remember we had another big name making his debut in that same game (who was outshone by big Jorg) but can't for the life of me remember who that was. Does anyone remember?
  10. As it stands now, it's 23 for Rangers and only 2 for Celtic, which surprises me a little. Even given the sense of loyalty that might colour individual opinion, I thought the split would be much more even, since we've really seen nothing yet to convince anyone that the inconsistencies of last season have been addressed. Let's hope the confidence is well placed.
  11. I checked. It WAS bollocks.
  12. The big criticism I have of football commentators is they never shut up and sadly RTV is no different. It's my only gripe with RTV mind you but why do all commentators feel they must fill every second with inane drivel? I feel perfectly able to watch the play and make my own assessments. I expect commentators to discuss controversial events or to inform me of things that might not be covered by the camera - otherwise for fucks sake shut up for five seconds.
  13. its all about game time across the squad
  14. Despite all his good attacking contribution there are times when Tav can be a suicidal defender.
  15. I'd just like to point out that the Gersnet website still calls it the Premier League ?
  16. My ailing memory says that his debut was against Arsenal and that was the same day Jorg Albertz played his first game for Rangers. But I could equally just be talking bollocks.
  17. OK, for the pedants among us, I've edited the topic to prevent further psychological stress. Personally, while I think Celtic still hold the most aces in this race, I think the departure of Rogers will be pivotal and for the first time in 8 years I expect Rangers to sneak it as the stronger team after New Year, despite the worst efforts of the SFA, SPFL and the BBC.
  18. We share common ground on Club1872, an organisation with huge potential that's barking up entirely the wrong tree. It was the right tree several years ago but somehow they missed the tipping point and are now just drifting.
  19. Before the season gets underway in a couple of weeks, let's see what Gersnet thinks the outcome will be.
  20. Spleen-venting almost never serves any constructive purpose, especially when those doing it have absolutely no influence over the matter at hand.
  21. The price of one and a half packs of cigarettes or three pints of beer to watch Rangers live at any level seems good value to me but there always the option to walk the dog or paint a ceiling instead. On the whole, the unlimited contract seems the best deal, especially if like me you don’t go to away games.
  22. Unless you think we need to get rid of King and his colleagues or you have a credible plan to get Ashley off our backs, I really think this is not a matter for the support and is something only the board itself can address.
  23. Yes but that was then, this is now. The situation is different, the players are different, unless you think we need to be applying pressure to get rid of King. Seriously, don't you think King has already made it abundantly clear the current commercial framework is unacceptable?
  24. As I said, we don't disagree on the importance of the commercial handcuffs or the need to remove them. Where we disagree is that you're still repeatedly describing the problem while I think you should be describing the solution - and you can only speculate on that because only the board and their professional advisors can formulate any meaningful strategy.
