Celtic Boys Club manager 'stuffed banknotes in boy's mouth'
Bill replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Why is VB pretty much the only voice trying to stop this being swept under the carpet? This may be about years of covering up child abuse but it's also about the widespread and ongoing collusion of sporting authorities, government, police, and the judiciary to promote and defend Celtic FC to the specific detriment of Rangers. Where is the voice of Rangers supporters? -
The successes of the likes of Highland League teams against second string SPFL teams comes as no surprise to me. Anyone who thinks premier league U21's are going to walk over the likes of Brora or Formartine doesn't know much about these clubs. You only need to look Cove Rangers, who will probably walk away with League 2 this season.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
Bill replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
There's danger emerging that we judge every signing purely on the basis of stopping Celtic winning NIAR but I'm not sure we're in any position financially to adopt such a short term approach. The sensible player trading that Celtic has prospered from is going to continue to reap rewards for several seasons to come, while our misfortunes will still be dogging us for a few more seasons. It's absolutely imperative that we understand the need to bolster our income through the sensible acquisition and sale of younger players and that not everyone we buy will be destined for our first team. It's equally important that we don't undermine our manager and recruitment team by wrongly questioning their competence. This is by far the best management and coaching team we've had in years, let's not not erode the confidence and positivity that makes such a difference to their ongoing performance. I think for the first time since 2011/12 we have some chance of winning the league this season. However, far more important than that is the continuing recovery and development of a very damaged club. As far as I can see, the only really poor decision this board has made is the appointment of Pedro Caixinha, which wasted a whole year in terms of both the squad development and our financial recovery. -

Why would we need Murphy and Jones and Kent? -
This is by far the most important post on this subject so far and may indicate something worthwhile for Club1872 to do instead of issuing meaningless statements that are instantly ignored or ridiculed.

If only they could apologise without admitting guilt then Celtic would have been wallowing in the shared victimhood of this tragedy. Celtic and its wider community must be the most sordid, squalid, contemptible infestation ever to poison a decent society. -
Somehow, I doubt anyone here is going to tell Steven Gerrard anything he doesn't already know.

Exactly how experienced are we talking about here?

It’s probably the only way we’ll ever find out but I’m not hopeful. -
match thread (image) [FT] Kilmarnock 1 - 2 Rangers (Arfield 16; Goldson 90+1)
Bill replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Out of interest, how much money do you think Kilmarnock's away ticket policy cost them yesterday? There were an awful lot of empty seats. -
The English Championship has the merit of being competitive ... and not a whole lot else. It's generally frenetic, overly physical and definitely not for the football purist. As a reflection of the money spent it's a poor offering, too much financial pressure at both ends of the table for any worthwhile football to break out.

I'd like to see us target one Sportscene person, such as Michael Stewart, and make every effort to draw attention to their lack of professionalism, their outright bias against Rangers. Banners, songs, phone-ins, letters, posters, social media gifs, twitter memes, etc etc - full on non-stop attack and character assassination, total ridicule. Then we might see how these bastards like a taste of their own medicine. They attack Rangers with absolute impunity and that needs to stop. There has to be a price to pay.

It's definitely a problem and it needs to stop but a lifetime ban is totally ridiculous. -
I think we also need to recognise that Gerrard is human too and his teams will achieve more if he also feels supported and trusted.
-
It's pathetic and transparent but you can bet they will cost us this season.

There's not a manager on Earth about whom you couldn't find something to criticise. That's not the important thing at this point. The question is whether or not it helps Rangers to have its manager openly criticised after one game. The same goes for some of the criticism flowing about certain players and I'm guilty here too. It's only natural to react and disagree but it's possible to do that without fostering a sense of discontent at a time when what we need is cohesion and encouragement. We have a hell of a fight ahead of us this season, backing the manager might make more of a contribution than casting doubts on his abilities. Unless of course you're talking shite about gravity. That particular form of narcissism deserves all the ridicule it gets. ?

Bully for you However, you're not just assessing are you? You're casting doubts on the suitability of our manager, which is a ridiculous thing to do at this stage.
