match thread (image) [FT] Kilmarnock 1 - 2 Rangers (Arfield 16; Goldson 90+1)
Bill replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
It's not to excuse our fans but maybe Kilmarnock should also put up a sensible barrier to separate fans from the disabled facility, or provide a structure that's robust enough to offer better protection. I sometimes think no one in Scottish football gives a second's thought to the needs of disabled fans, whatever their allegiance. It's a bloody disgrace. -
I always wondered who would be first to start the customary self-flagellation. What i didn't expect was to see Gerrard being undermined after one game of a 38 game campaign. Why don't you assess the winners at the finishing line and not when the starting gun has just been fired?

He’s not worth £5m to us. -

This might be something that's been tried in the past but would it be possible to run a MOTM poll for (say) 24 hours after every game. It would be interesting to see which players consistently emerge as top performers over the course of a season.

You mean making challenges?

There's little basis for criticism of Goldson who I thought had a decent enough game. Of the defenders, Barasic continues to irritate ... how many times did he receive the ball out wide in a forward position only to routinely play it backwards? The only time Barasic seems willing to plat a forward pass is when he's pithing ten yards of his own bye line. He must have so much more to contribute but doesn't look like he has the confidence meantime to give it. And our captain has yet to show any kind of form. If anything worried me it was our apparent inability to adapt and cope with Killie when they changed to a more expansive game. -

When all is said and done, we're two points better off than we were at the same stage last year and we're three points better off than in both games at Rugby Park. That's how we'll close the gap and achieve number 55. There are going to be a lot more games like this across the season if we're going to win this league championship, as there have been in every season where we've come out on top. I'd keep the despondency for when we lose and enjoy the fact that this was one of the very few times in recent years where we've lost a lead late in the game but have then fought back to win. -

You're right, it was reprehensible.

Debutants Cove Rangers are already running away with League Two.

"On the whole we'll be looking for a settled team" Good to hear.

I think the support has made abundantly clear its concerns about this. But since the support is in no position to do anything other than express its opinion, it's probably better to focus on the football now and wait patiently for those who actually can do something about it to make their next move.

Not that I've seen in many years. Ryan Jack looks the only one willing to show much aggression but that's not really his game either. Otherwise we have a bit of a powderpuff midfield. Another Graeme Souness definitely does not currently exist at Rangers. Since we'll be given more red cards than anyone else anyway, wouldn't it be nice if once in a while one of them was really, really deserved. ?

Celtic Boys Club manager 'stuffed banknotes in boy's mouth'
Bill replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
It's long past the stage where Celtic 's claim of "separate entity" would survive a day in court. The only plausible strategy left for Celtic now is to remain silent and hope against hope their affiliations with the media and the football authorities will ensure the light of day is never shone upon their evil past. From what I can see, it will take a change of government at Holyrood for justice ever to be shown to the victims of the longstanding Celtic paedophile ring. The SNP will never jeopardise its electoral heartland by allowing any fingers to be pointed at Celtic, which is fully protected by the holy trinity - the SNP, the MSM and the Catholic Church ...... and all that those institutions hold influence over. It is, by any other name, a conspiracy and on a grand scale. With a great deal more foundation than anything the moon landing numpties can muster. -
So your considered opinion is that Rangers are in no way disadvantaged by refereeing decisions. Someone posted stats on here a while back that suggested otherwise. In fact it looked beyond any doubt.

The only thing missing is the continuing efforts of the appalling SNP to suppress any formal public investigation. -
It’s beginning to look like Gerrard doesn’t know the answer or doesn’t know how to get the answer into the heads of his players. The next month will tell us a lot although I’ll stick with my prediction we’ll will the league in the second half of the season.

My hope is our recruitment efforts are being quietly directed elsewhere while public discussion is focussed on futile hopes of Kent re-joining. -
I'll offer to supply official kit to Rangers next season. I'll give a guaranteed pledge of £25,000,000 payable in the first year and agree to give Rangers 50% of all profits. I have no doubt Rangers will be so impressed they will decide to pledge an investment in my sportswear company, probably in the region of (say) £25,000,000 in return for 49% of my equity. I will then sub-contract the supply of Rangers kit to someone reputable (Hummel for example) who will manufacture and supply to me as contract holder.

It's as if no one wants to be the player who puts the ball in the net. The urgency to pass to someone else when a shot at goal is possible is holding us back. On the plus side (and its a very big plus) we seem to have learned how to defend for the majority of games.

Makes you wonder how we're going to win the league if that's the best we can do. Pretty awful tbh. Either Jack or Aribo could have been MOTM and ffs will someone remind Tavernier that he cannot take corner kicks, he's rank rotten at it.

My sense of it is that it’s too late for Club1872. They nailed their colours to a different mast and have shown little appetite for a wider role. Just as the old RST became internally focussed and largely impotent, I think it will be Club1872’s successor that helps deliver projects like this. That said, it’s really for the club to provide something like a radio service. Does anyone one know if any other clubs already do this?
