It's time the Tillman saga reached a conclusion.

The biggest mistake with Kent wasn't running down his contract but paying £7m for him in the first place. There's no way we should have been spending £7m on anyone at that time.

Slight reservations about Arfield but otherwise I just have a sense of relief that we're finally moving on. I only hope there are others in the departure lounge who we think we can sell for money.

It might seem a bit contrarian but I'm not buying the view this guy isn't worthy of a place at Rangers. He was well regarded by the Polish FA before we signed him and was considered to have a decent future in the game. He's hardly the first foreign player we've had to settle into life in Scotland so I assume something went badly wrong when he first joined Rangers, either on his side or ours. I never felt enough effort was made to get some return from this signing and I suspect he may have been a victim of GvB's legendary man-management skills. Whenever I hear someone is "homesick", it's usually to cover up some fuck up or broken promises that the club would rather not admit to. We'll see if MB is able to resurrect a future for Zukowski at Ibrox.

The most controlled, disciplined and effective game I've seen Sakala play. Who knew he could lead the line like this? However, my vote hovers between John Souttar, who was simply the best player on the park, and Iannis Hagi, simply because he's back. John Souttar.

Surely if there's any justice on this forum then @Compo deserves a month ban for this outrage.

Yes I think we have our LB now. Sakala hasn’t done much wrong either and Souttar has been superb. Tav has even done some defending! Great to see Hagi get his goal too.

It might be that the plan is to start the season with Butland as No 1 and end it with McRorie

Whatever salary we end up paying Butland, it will be far too much for the backup keeper we actually need.
