So the mendacious RIFC board line-up has:-

- a Sports Direct man (Leach)

- a MASH man (Llambias)

- a shadowy figure in the corner who fronts the mysterious 26% (S.Easdale)

- a Goffer (J.Easdale)

- an Unfunny Flak Deflector / Clown (Somers)

Their sell-by date is about to expire and they have burnt their bridges.

There is more than one clown on your list mate. They can obviously multi-task.

The real detail from Forlan that the SFA might like to take note of is who actually makes the decisions.

The man from Mash and the man from Sports Direct.

Q. What is the common denominator between MASH and SD ?

i think unfunny might be underplaying it a little.

In light of his "performance" at the AGM I'd say obnoxious is a more appropriate descriptor.

Rangers fans' group fear ban after explosive minutes of summit with Ibrox board are revealed

22:00, 17 February 2015

By Keith Jackson

IBROX chief Derek Llambias and finance director Barry Leach met with members of the official Rangers fans Board last week and Leach is quoted in minutes saying the Three Bears consortium ‘s**t’ themselves over a proposed multi-million pound emergency loan deal.

RANGERS chief executive Derek Llambias has come under fire from the club’s supporters after the publication of explosive minutes of his meeting with a group of hand picked fans.

Llambias and fellow director Barry Leach held face-to-face talks with representatives of the official Rangers Fans Board on Wednesday of last week and details of the discussions were finally published online late on Monday evening.

But the beleaguered Rangers regime is furious that they were not allowed to approve the statement before it was made public and members of the fans’ group, who spoke to Record Sport last night, now expect Llambias to shut their board down in retaliation - leaving them sitting on the same naughty step as this newspaper.

In the minutes Llambias is quoted as branding the behaviour of Rangers fans at December’s bad tempered AGM as a ‘disgrace’ and blaming that for the farcical attempts to stage next month’s showdown EGM in London.

He claims an alternative venue had to be sourced because of threats made to the staff at Knightsbridge’s Millennium Hotel.

He insists former manager Ally McCoist personally approved the signings of five Newcastle players in a job lot of deadline day loan deals which current caretaker boss Kenny McDowall - McCoist’s former right hand man - later claimed to know nothing about.

He reiterates claims that Dave King - who hopes to torpedo the current regime at that shareholders vote - will not be passed as ‘fit and proper’ by the London Stock Exchange should he wish to take a seat on the vote.

And, incredibly, he also appears to deny that Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley was one of the original group of investors who helped finance Charles Green's Rangers takeover in 2012 - even though this was a matter of public record at the time.

His cohort Leach caused further fury by crudely claiming that wealthy fans Douglas Park, George Letham and George Taylor ‘s**t’ themselves when they thought their offer of a multi-million pound emergency loan deal was about to be accepted by the board.

Leach compounded this by demanding that his foul mouthed comment to be struck from the record - a request which was also noted in the official minutes.

All the latest news from Ibrox

Last night one of the Rangers Fans Board, who attended the meeting but who asked not to be named, said: “The minutes are an accurate reflection of the meeting.

“But we strongly suspect that there will be some sort of reaction from the Rangers board. We thought we might be immediately disbanded and blacklisted but, as yet, there has been no communication from Mr Llambias or anyone else.”

Rangers fans held their latest protest against the Ibrox board before Friday night's defeat to Hibs:

A Rangers spokesman today said: "These minutes have not been seen or approved by the Rangers board. We are very disappointed by the behaviour of the existing fans' board."

The minutes were examined by various Rangers supporters’ groups after they appeared on-line and Craig Houston, leader of protest group Sons of Struth, reacted furiously when contacted by Record Sport.

Houston said: “This board is now engaged in a desperate attempt to safeguard its position ahead of the EGM. I just hope that when we finally are able to hold an EGM we will get rid of these rats once and for all, and you can quote me on that.

“For Llambias to claim that Ashley was not one of Green’s original investors is beyond belief. The list of initial investors was made public and documented at the time. We have put a copy of it on line and everyone can see the names of those investors who backed Green and enabled him to purchase the club.

“Furthermore, Green used his association with Ashley as a selling point to attract institutional investors at the IPO in December of 2012. For Llambias to attempt to rewrite history in this fashion is disgraceful and disgusting. Just eight answers into a list of 78 questions, he is misleading the Rangers support and insulting our intelligence. He’s treating us like idiots and we are sick of it.”

In the minutes Llambias is asked: “Did Mike Ashley fund Charles Green in the Rangers takeover?”

He is quoted as answering: “Absolutely not.”

In fact, Ashley was publicly listed as one of a group of original investors whose cash helped Green finance his regime until a £22m IPO in December 2012.

As far back as August 2012 Green was boasting about his tie-up with Ashley saying: “What Mike will do, subject to all the agreements going through, is bring the might of Sports Direct and that in itself, in my mind, will bring £5-10million a year from merchandise in revenues back into the club.”

In the minutes Llambias also appears to rip into the Rangers fans who booed and heckled the Rangers board throughout last December’s stormy AGM.

Llambias is quoted as saying: “When we discussed the AGM, the behavior of those at the AGM basically hijacked the meeting. It was a disgrace. We don’t want it to get hijacked again which is why it is in London.

"The hotel staff were threatened and the hotel received threats that the hotel would be damaged – due to this the venue cancelled the event.

"Looking at another venue that will accommodate larger numbers.”

He insists McCoist backed his plan to recruit in bulk from Newcastle’s reserves be saying: “Ally McCoist was already aware of the Newcastle loan players and had gone down south to see them and thought their addition to the squad would be good.”

He attacks would-be saviour King by saying: “In our opinion Dave King would not be passed as a ‘proper and fit person’ to sit on the Rangers’ Board by the AIM.”

And he explains the reason behind his decision to ban the Daily Record from Ibrox and Murray Park with this comment: “Discussion around the Daily Record and their behavior towards the club for some time. They are a law unto themselves, we couldn’t allow them access to then write untrue copy, and had to be banned.”

The ban was imposed after this paper exposed another would-be owner, Indian businessman Lalit Modi, as having criminal convictions for carrying cocaine and kidnapping in the USA - news which appeared to come as a surprise to Leach who says: “We had no knowledge of this, but it is entirely a private matter for the shareholder in question.”

Leach goes on to say of the Douglas Park consortium: "Not for minuting – the Three Bears s**t themselves when they thought we’d accept their deal."

But Sons of Struth founder Houston told us last night: “Having spoken to the Three Bears I am convinced the money was there and they would have been only too glad to put it up. The language used by a Rangers director in an official meeting with the Rangers Fan Board is absolutely disgusting.

"This kind of terminology is not what we would expect from a board member of Rangers Football Club.”

The Record also recently revealed details of a meeting between Leach, Llambias and Green’s disgraced former financial director Brian Stockbridge after tracking the three men down to Renfrewshire’s plush Mar Hall Hotel.

Asked about this revelation Llambias responds: “We were staying there at the same time. We went to the meeting to hear what he had to say, and discuss the deals that were signed during his tenure with the club.”

Llambias and Leech told us that, they are the Board the other two are merely decorations.

Llambias and Leech told us they've been through everything with a fine toothed comb saved £40k on water etc...etc saved £2.5m p.a... yet were unable to tell me how much net cash Rangers have received from Rangers Retail to date, couldn't tell me how much net cash Rangers receive for each shirt sold, couldn't tell me what came first Ashley's investment with Green or the Rangers Retail joint venture. I wonder if it was reall

y wouldn't instead of couldn't?

they would never admit to the retail revenue was only £109k. Would be an admission of guilt

I think we all know the answer to that FS.

I really struggle to understand how anyone can back the retention of any incumbent board member.

Yes, Llambias and Leach may have had some success in previous jobs and I am certainly pleased they've managed to reduce costs further. However, any positive is completely outweighed by the continual negativity associated with them, their colleagues and whose alleged interests they serve on the board. Quite simply it's extremely difficult to approve their performance so I'm astonished anyone is prepared to do so.

On the other hand, I would agree that King and Murray are hardly without blemish themselves so people are right to be wary over their involvement. However, their love for the club is obvious, they've been proven correct when it comes to their doubts about various issues over the last four years and it may well be they're just short-term appointments before the real boardroom talent is brought on board. Generally, I am comfortable enough in trusting them over the existing controlling interest at the club. It may not be a perfect choice but it's a necessary one and I reserve the right to revisit it as soon as the EGM is over.

As an aside, was the Stockbridge hotel meeting minuted? I'd like to know how Mr Stockbridge explained much of his decision-making during his time at the club - much of whom also seemed to be done in such informal surroundings. It's these kind of murky tête-à-têtes that have eroded supporter trust to the point of nothing. Ergo, the board attempting to dismiss such concerns merely shows their lack of understanding of supporting feeling.

These people must go and I think, deep down, everyone knows that.

If bh got his wish and lsmbias and leech remain then season ticket sales will be in 4 figures next year.

Very probably sub 5k.

I'm not convinced over your figures but there is no doubt that season ticket numbers will not increase next season - with or without promotion - unless there is regime change, substantial investment and a new management team.

Given Deloittes' further clarification that has to be a real worry for the incumbent board.
