The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread

Recommended Posts

September 2015:

Joe Dodoo's goalscoring performance on his full home debut has left Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri even more excited about the young striker.

Ranieri spoke with some enthusiasm on Dodoo ahead of the Capital One Cup clash with West Ham, revealing the 20-year-old had earned the right to start the third-round tie following his hat-trick at Bury in the previous round.

And the Foxes academy product took just six minutes to get his name on the scoresheet against a strong Hammers side showing just three changes from the team that started Saturday's surprise Barclays Premier League win at Manchester City.

Not convinced he's what we need. Another zelalem type signing by looks of things. We mustn't become a testing ground for EPL youths.

No sign of a CB yet? This should be top priority IMO before season starts

I thought Zelalem was a good player for us.

and I think a testing ground for EPL youths is something we can benefit from

On my wish list is a mobile CB and a striker.

Isnt Dodoo supposed to be a striker ?

21 years old & has played just a handful of first team games for Leicester who seem to have offered him a new contract which I'd imagine he'd sign as the terms will be significantly better than we'd be able to offer.

So presumably we'd then get him on loan. Not really the type of striker signing we were expecting I'd suggest. Was expecting better than this

Mind that time when everybody was like 'Who the fuck are Waghorn, Tavernier, Holt, Halliday, Kiernan, these arent the types of player we should be getting, these arent Rangers standard!' and then 'WTF ARE THEY DOIN OFFERING A DEAL TO FORRESTER!? ' Aye coz a mind it too.

If permanent he will be our best player within 18 months if not sooner

Cant see it being permanent but would be happy if so.

Regardless of lack of games he has scored against teams of a higher standard than he will face up here - scoring against that West Ham team just after they beat Man City shows the kid has talent.

Sometimes you have to take a punt on talent and hope it is worth it.

I haven't seen much of this lad but if Ranieri thinks he is good enough that will do for me. Even though he has played fewer games I think I would be more excited about this signing than I was disappointed at Celtic signing Dembele. I think this lad may have enough to put Dembele in the shade... I say that based on nothing but a wish for him to come to Rangers and be better than anything Celtic have :D
