The 31-year-old Switzerland international is a free agent after a six-month spell with Grasshoppers in his homeland. Rangers boss Mark Warburton has been on the hunt for a new defender this summer with the Ibrox side holding talks with Steven Taylor and Adrian Mariappa while Oguchi Onyewu joined the club during their pre-season trip in America.
