The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread

RANGERS KEEN ON SOUTHEND STOPPER

The Sun reports Southend United's highly-rated keeper Daniel Bentley is attracting renewed interest from Glasgow Rangers.

Bentley has earned rave reviews for the Shrimpers and has previously been linked with Everton, Bournemouth and Norwich.

However, a switch north of the border could be on the cards for the 22-year-old who has spent all of his professional career with the Essex club having been released by Arsenal as a youngster.

Cranes’ midfielder Khalid Aucho formerly of Simba FC and Water FC in Uganda, who is currently playing for Gor Mahia in Kenya, said that he is on Scottish Premier League side Rangers FC wanted list.

“It is true Glasgow Rangers have approached me, they are interested in my services and as a matter of fact I want to join them. Everything is on the initial stage, but I hope it goes through because it is every footballer’s dream to achieve such a fate. The club (Gor Mahia) is aware of it and I hope that all will run smoothly,” said Aucho who is currently with Uganda national team the Cranes in preparations for the oncoming friendly and AFCON qualifier games against Zimbabwe and Botswana respectively.

Aucho’s style is being compared to that of Kenya national team captain Victor Wanyama who once played for Celtic in Scotland and now playing for English Premier League side Southampton and it is being believed that that is why Aucho is wanted.

Rangers have just signed former Manchester City, QPR and Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton and Aucho says he can’t wait to partner with him in the midfield to gain at least experience from him.

However neither Rangers nor Gor Mahia has come out to confirm the reports save for the confirmation from the player himself. The player says after the Cranes’ game against Botswana next week he will be heading to Scotland.

Maybe I should get a last line into any new link or rumour, stating in good old "Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam"-style that the transfer window has not even opened and we will SURE look after defenders as well :D

Reece Oxford and John Swift

Rumours I have heard. Anyone else got the same names? Source can be provided if needed.

John Swift - 20, CM from Chelsea, who has been on loan at Brentford, contract until this summer

Reece Oxford - 17, CH form West Ham, contract till 2019

I don't think we take a 17-year old CH on loan to replace Kiernan or Wilson.

There were times I'd have taken a 7 year old ;)

West Ham believe that Reece Oxford is the best Academy talent they have had since Rio Ferdinand.

That said, he wants to renegotiate his contract at West Ham.... the 17 yr old is looking for, get this, 40k a week salary plus a 1 million quid signing on fee. Insane for a 17 yr old.
