Celtic v Rangers: Becoming the real deal...

Recommended Posts

Gerrard is partly through a rebuilding process.  He has strengthened the defence and we can see a definite improvement there particularly at centre-back.  The next stage of the rebuilding process, unless Dorrans and Rossiter come good, is some quality permanent (and creative) signings in midfield.  At the moment we are relying on relatively inexperienced players , such as, Ejaria and Kent. We should reflect on the fact that celtic bring on a Scottish internationalist in the shape of Griffiths whereas we being on Middleton who is just barely out the youth ranks as an indicator of lack of  strength in depth. In this game I think our midfield was not as active as in other games but this might be partly down to low energy levels, this was particularly so for Ejaria.  I also believe that players like Ejaria, Kent and Boracic will have gained from the experience.  Although disappointed by both the defeat and the level of performance this game will have provided Gerrard with some insight into where we need to improve to give celtic more of a game when we next meet.

They did get through though. They hit the bar 3 times and had countless opportunities. Our game plan didn't save us, the woodwork did. If the game pkan is merely containing I'm surprised. Today was a mulligan for us. We should have surprised them by being more offensive. If we had lost by a heavier margin, so be it but my biggest dissappointment was we didn't give them anything to think about. It was like watching a game from last season.

How did the woodwork save us??? they missed!!

Couple of those times was our players either saving the day or getting a wee block to put it on to the post

Hereing theres been an incident of crushing with 5 injured in todays home support at Park head.

With the number of empty seats that's a surprise.

Did hear something about only one turnstile being open in a section and causing problems. Probably the turn stile they used to put us through that seen us 15 minutes late for kickoff each game

Agree 100%. Coulibally would have made a difference giving others space and our Albanian will help but quality midfielder needs to be in the pipeline.

We just qualified for EL and disappointing as this performance was there are reasons to be optimistic we can add to the EL story, win a trophy and build a platform for next year and a real go at the title. We are only 4 points off them which you might expect visiting their place first.

The break has come at a good time for us it’s been a strenuous effort so far and the 9 guys who survived the UFA game must have been tired. I’m confident Gerrard and his team know what is required. Win our next 2 league games and the feel good factor should return.

A mhank fell of a wall and also part of a wall collapsed damaging the falling bricks on 3 or 4 mhanks, probably won't be investigated nor will the flares set-off amid the usual tuneful sh8t they sing.

Fair doos mate. Just pissed off at how we performed tbh. Was looking more for a good performance than the score (OF games at CP are always hard). Was a hard 90 minutes to watch ?
