A rumour going about Ravel Morrison, not sure if there is any truth in it, he has added a few of our players and the gaffer on one of his social media accounts and he is out of contract in 6 months

Which begs the question: who is following this chap's social media accounts? Some dismissive comments about him on FF, and ID10 has said he's heard nothing thus far ... which may simply mean that he hasn't heard nothing thus far.

Karlan Ahearne-Grant. Pre Contract pursuit by the bears. Charlton. Just turned 21. Striker.

Just posted on The Sun.

PLANNING AHEAD

Karlan Ahearne-Grant to Rangers – Ibrox club want Charlton star on pre-contract as long-term Alfredo Morelos replacement

The Light Blues are eyeing the Addicks striker for the summer when they know they could lose top goal scorer Morelos to another club for a multi-million pound fee

RANGERS want Charlton ace Karlan Ahearne-Grant as a long-term replacement for Alfredo Morelos.

SunSport can reveal the Addicks are aware Gers aim to land the striker on a pre-contract deal.

Ahearne-Grant has bagged 13 goals this term to fire Lee Bowyer’s side into the frame for promotion.

He can leave the League One outfit this summer, and clubs would only have to pay Charlton a development fee for the home-grown striker.

Brentford have already had a £500,000 bid turned down to land Ahearne-Grant in this transfer window.

But Gers are eyeing him for the summer, when they know they could lose top scorer Morelos for a multi-million pound fee.

Steven Gerrard and director of football Mark Allen have both insisted the 20-goal Colombian won’t be sold this month.

But Morelos, 22, has never hidden his desire to play in one of Europe’s more glamorous leagues, and could be flogged if clubs meet Gers’ asking price in the summer.

Jermain Defoe’s loan deal from Bournemouth has clauses which could see him recalled this summer or next January.

Ibrox boss Gerrard, who has had Ahearne-Grant, 21, watched in recent weeks, is keen to bolster his attacking options for next term.

Charlton have sent the frontman out on loan to Cambridge and Crawley in past years, but he’s emerged as a key figure under Bowyer this season.

He’s hit 11 goals in his last 19 League One games, including one in a 3-0 win at Shrewsbury last weekend, which fired Charlton to within just three points of the automatic promotion places.

Ahearne-Grant has been capped by England at every youth level, and is highly-rated among clubs south of the border.

Charlton want to keep their top scorer until the end of the season, as they view promotion back to the second tier as more valuable than a six-figure transfer fee.

Gers have already secured Kilmarnock star Jordan Jones and Dundee ace Glen Kamara on pre-contract deals for next season.

Defoe, 36, has penned an 18-month loan deal, and could make his debut in the Scottish Cup fourth-round tie at Cowdenbeath on Friday night.

Steven Davis has returned on an initial six-month deal from Southampton, but could extend that stay in the summer.

Meanwhile, Gers have also been linked with ex-West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison, 25, who is out of favour at Lazio having spent last season on loan at Liga MX side Atlas.

We all know we can't keep Morelos indefinitely but I don't want him leaving this Summer. And especially so if we win the league with a chance at the CL group stages which would be more lucrative than anything we're likely to get for Morelos.

Flip side of that coin is that if we win the league the board may decide mission accomplished regarding ending the yahoo dream of 10 in a row. Which may then become let's cash in now, clear the debt and strengthen again from that base.

Europe has to be the main objective and the CL group stages are the financial platform for us to eclipse the yahoos again. We have more chance of achieving that with Morelos than without him. And how many millions could CL experience tack on to the eventual price in the Summer of 2020 when he will be even stronger in every way than he is now.

I'm sure we all want to keep our best players but the chances of making the CL Group Stage are decreasing every single year so if there's a straight choice between accepting an easy £20m for Morelos or risking it to perhaps even make less than that in the CL then option A will and should be taken every time.

It's not a sporting choice but 2012 has surely shown us all that such financial pragmatism is a necessary evil for our club.

When EPL clubs come in for SPL players and offer half decent money, the player's head is turned and there's no point keeping a player who wants to be somewhere else.

That's just the way it is.

TV, agents and money have infinite power.

Ravel Morrison has Northern Irish roots, he’s probably just following the club. He’d be an interesting one on a free in the summer but his compilation on YouTube from atlas last season reminds you of ejaria, does something sublime and then plays the most simple and pointless pass possible.

Yes: Sublime skill and close-control, but doesn't know what to do with the ball.

If that skill could be channelled...

Immense talent but he makes Balotelli look like a saint.

I think the much more traditional Martin O'Neill will fancy Worrall and want him back. Time will tell but I think it'll be a concern for Gerrard because he clearly rates him higher than most on here.
