I dislike booing. That said Shroomz, you make it sound like the booing will be the death knell to our title hopes. WRONG. Shite performances like tonight against the worst team in the league will be the death knell to our title chances. No-one was booing before the game...... and what result did we achieve. Sorry but these are paying customers and have every right to boo. Further, if anything, the booing should actually motivate the players next time out to not suffer the same at the end of the game.

Statistics can be used whatever way you want. It is only 4 DAYS since we claimed that a 1-0 win away to Accies as a good result because they hadn't had a team score against them in "x" number of games. End result is ICT are shite and we should have won. But does that mean the league is over ? Not at all.

Thanks Cal, cant get Setanta in my hotel room so wasnt sure what happened. These things do happen but, at the same time, you make your own luck. Apparently we had about 85% possession and could do nothing with it. Sound familiar ?

I might be inthe minority with this viewpoint but it really is a knee-jerk reaction for anyone to suggest that the league is lost - we are 3 points behind and still have to play the Tims at home. Sure, losing at home to the bottom team in the league is a kick in the balls - but then, Celtic hardly covered themselves with glory against Caley either. Lets not kid ourselves on, Celtic are as shite as we are. My fear is that hey get a lift from this whilst our heads go down. Tonight could have seen us EXTEND our lead in the league as Rugby Park is a difficult place to go whilst a home win for us should have been guaranteed. But shit happens. Is the league lost ? No more lost than the doom merchants had us believe back on December 27 (I think I may have been one of those doom merchants to be fair......)

Whilst I agree that we shouldnt get overly concerned as there will be more twists and turns, how do you determine that Celtic's luck has struck again ? Did something happen in their game that was lucky ?
  6. Re the asian betting you are right S_A. At +0.5 if your team draws it pays out
  7. The time-wasting is not exactly "conning" a win either. 1) They are using the laws of the game to their advantage, it is up to the officials to deem the appropriate amount of time to add on and 2) Who is to say Utd would have scored anyway ! Sour grapes. I dislike the man more and more with each interview he gives - and I moan about WS' interviews.... Levein has him beat by a country mile !

  9. I agree with the sentiment re our marketing department. Not sure though that the club could have made millions from solely Manchester sales. JJB would have received the majority of any such profits I would presume. But our organisation is a shambles, of that there is no doubt. It often times looks like we are outsourcing things because the club realise they are actually SHIT at trying to do them themselves.
  10. It was actually a season and a half ago. He won two of 4 trophies last season and it could so easily have been a domestic treble but for very unique and exceptional circumstances. He "failed" in Europe - but how many managers before him got as far as he did ? Regardless of the tactics deployed he got to a European final which I am sure many of us felt that we would never see in our lifetimes. And this season he currently sits atop the SPL, is in the final of the Co-op and quarters of the SC with a home tie. The only failing, results-wise, this year was Kaunas - unacceptable ? Yep. Calscot says it often and loud - when you look at WS' tenure his performance actually makes for excellent reading. Was it his fault that we lost the SPL last year ? Sure PART of it was, but the players should shoulder responsibility as should the SPL as should Celtic for their obvious manipulation of the fixtures both regarding POD's tragic death and also during the climax to the season. But who could we have installed as manager who would have been interested ? I think that this is sometimes forgotten during the WS debate. We wanted rid of Eck, we got it and replaced him with "Europe's finest young manager" - and how did that work out for us ?
  11. I am actually more confident of beating them at Parkhead than I am at Ibrox. Seems the away team is more suited to these games these days, sitting back, soaking up the pressure, hitting on the break. If we win the next 11 games we are champions and, for that reason, 3 points each week is all we should be aiming for - BUT.... we should not be simply setting our stall out to get ahead in a game and then hanging on. There is a fine line between winning and drawing - which means you dont, and shouldnt, need to be overly aggressive when winning by committing too many men forward - but you also shouldnt be sitting on your own 18 yard line !
  12. Ha !! I took the family out to lunch after the wee man's karate and the bartender is a Tim. Heard him telling someone that Celtic won 7-0, didn't believe it. Asked him if it was right enough and he said yes. Kicker ? Not one word did he mention about St. Mirren having a man sent off. Typical.
  13. I think that Rafa showed his hand last week and this - he has already effectively given up all hope of Liverpool winning the league and, after this result, I think he is right. I just see no way back for them now. Those are the games you have to win to win the league. Not much to say as a Gooner though - 4 consecutive 0-0 draws, all against teams that should be beaten, will see Arsenal miss out on the CL. They would have had a great chance of finishing runners-up with maximum 12 points from those games.
  14. I agree S_A. I dont think there was any doubt that Accies would start the 2nd half fired up and motivated. They got into the game for about 15-20 minutes but we still dominated proceedings. Only poor final balls really stopped it from being 4 or 5
  15. I am astounded that he went with Edu and Lafferty in those positions. I would have much preferred to move Davis in one, Aaron or Naismith out right and Fleck on the left, or even Beasley. Baffling IMO.
  16. That is an alarming level of debt again, if accurate. It also, I would imagine, scare off any potential suitors, unless SDM takes the debt with him - but we all know that won't happen !
  17. Agreed S_A. Likewise, if we can win the title and force them into a hopefully unsuccessful attempt to reach the CL group stages, then we actually GAIN from it and, hopefully, close the gap financially. That said, it certainly appears to me that they are being run better fiscally than we are right now so there is no saying that it would happen !
  18. I guess i had the foresight to see this when I made the "post-split" thread. The SPL are in the shit over this because they HAVE to send the Tims somewhere post split to even out the home & away games. I just hope Motherwell retain their top 6 spot now to make it a horrid scenario for the SPL. Incompetents to the last anyway !
  19. Laziest bassa on an online forum
  20. I like the Mendes, Fergie one too. Nice work Shroomz.
  21. I was just joking with my "good result" comment too. I did see the goal while coming out of the shops - great ball in but surely poor defending as it was obvious the ball would come into that area.
  22. What more would you like Jon ? I never watched the game so cant really comment on it.
  23. good result.
  24. I will take a quid at YOUR odds. Never going to happen but those 1800/1 odds are excellent value.
  25. haha ! Get it up ye Jon 3-0 Madrid........
