I thought we were by far the better team in that first 40 minutes. Again we have received NO decisions - we could easily have had two penalties for handball against Caldwell - and that same tit was claiming for handball at the other end when the ball clearly hit Cousin on the shoulder. I really dislike Caldwell. We have pushed them and allowed them no space, we have played the better football and looked more like scoring than them. Also, is it just me or is it THEM that are playing more "anti-football" than us ? They pump the ball long more often than we do. Cousin has led the line really well and Whittaker has been outstanding on the left hand side too. Fergie, Davis and Novo have played pretty well but Hemdani seems to not even be on the pitch. There are more goals in this game - I just hope we score one more than they do !

It was close but he was definitely offside for me, I am biased.....

I agree Gribz - it may sound like sour grapes, and I understand there is a difference between SPL and SFA - but one reason we are in the position we are in is because of the postponed game to try to accomodate Scotland's Euro 2008 quest. We also, to be fair, caused some of the problem ourself in that we requested the Gretna game to be postponed priot to the Lyon game - IMO a request we should never have made - but it was, and the game was postponed, and the rest is history. But we also can't forget our "friends" from the East End who are now (Mcgeady and Lawwell) of the opinion that the season should not be extended - very importantly it was CELTIC who wanted our New Year game postponed due to a player dying who hadnt represented them for TEN years. No disrespect to Phil O' Donnell. But I happen to think that the request made by them to have the game postponed was a request made more because had the game went ahead they would have lost one of their most influential players (McGeady) and they also would have been playing with a very weakened team (they had injuries at that point and had no RB's....). We on the other hand were flying and at full strength (save DMB and Stevie Smith, who had been out all season anyway). We now hear all this nonsense from Lawwell about "sporting integrity" and how the league season shouldn't be extended...... we NEED the extension, in part, thanks to HIS TEAM'S request to postpone a game. So if the league loses its integrity by extending then it is thanks, in part, to CELTIC. I also agree, if we see a similar situation in subsequent seasons, even if the request is made for the benefit of Scotland, that Rangers stick two fingers up to the establishment and say "piss off... where was the assistance when WE needed it". No disrespect to Scotland - but if Rangers are being dicked around, they have a right to look after their own interests first and foremost.

I know what you are saying but as Greavsie once said.... it's a funny old game saint. Who would have taken Wigan to draw 1-1 at Stamford Bridge a couple of weeks ago ? I still think Man U will win it but given any dropped points look like costing them the league I just don't think 1/3 are value odds. If you look at it they are in the driving seat purely because of the goal difference - yet the bookies are making them 1/3 favourites as if they need to drop 4 points to lose the league - which is bullshit - ANY dropped points could lose them the league. I think they will win it - would I risk 600 quid on it ? Probably not...... off to Ladbrokes just now to get a bet on Man U !
-
I think they will get the 2 wins required - they know what they have to do and they have the quality to do it. 1/3 is not good odds all the same Gribz.
-
If Birmingham win that game I think they will stay up. Huge game for both teams as a Fulham win will give them a great chance of staying up too.
-
Man U to still win the title.
-
I wish we could cheer Scotland on in it.......

Horrible back pass from Carvalho !!

IMO it would be nigh on all over. We would be one point in front with 3 games in hand. They would only have 3 games left and if they won those they would be 8 in front of us. That would leave us needing 3 wins from 6 games, or 2 wins and 3 draws. One of those games is against St Mirren which SHOULD be a guaranteed 3 points, levaing us needing 2 wins from 5 games. IMO, a win tomorrow and it is as good as done.

1-0 to Chelsea at half time, Ballack in 45 mins - should make for a cracking 2nd half.

I don't believe you can read - that would explain why you havent read the papers....

That was only 3 years out of 5 - what did they do the other 2 years ? Chelsea have been pretty consistent in the CL.

Disagree, the seedings are in part based on consistency of performance, which makes sense to me.

To be fair they both had their feet high - Ze Roberto just beat him to the ball......

Already confirmed he wont be playing on Saturday

you looked like a tit S_A !! Kidding.... but you did look excited !!!

"His teams like to play an adventurous 4-3-3 formation but with wide men who can work back to create five in the midfield when the side has to defend." Funny how when applied to a foreign team the 4-3-3 offensively which turns to a 4-5-1 defensivly is "adventurous". This is the system we have been playing for the whole season yet we are playing "anti-football". When we had the right players for the system (Beasley, Novo and the other pacier players like Naismith and Burke playing in the formation) we had the very same system. Admittedly when slower, less skilful players such as McCulloch and Whittaker play in that system it is less exciting. Either way though we are labelled "anti-football" for playing the same system as Fiorentina, yet they are labelled "adventurous". Hypocritical ?
-
Welcome aboard my friend ! The midfield is where it will be won and lost IMO - we are most definitely weakened (in my opinion more so by the absence of Thomson than Fergie - although Fergie will be a big loss too). But I also think the central midfield 3 we have are decent (if Hemdani can pick up his game) enough to stop Fiorentina from playing free-flowing football. This game can go either way, I think it could come down to who gets the breaks.
-
I dont think that is such a bad team. Novo on right wing will inject some pace into the team and some relief for the defence. Whittaker will be solid on the lft and help out Papac. And the midfield 3 of Hemdani, Dailly and Davis should complement each other with Hemdani and Dailly holding and letting Davis get forward. Defence picks itself and Alexander is an able deputy

This is the most pertinent part of what we are seeing with Celtic deeming that extending the season "calls into question its integrity". There would be NO NEED to extend had they not wanted the postponement anyway - or at least a lesser need. I couldn't agree more Calscot - it is being conveniently forgotten that part of the reason we are struggling to play our fixtures is because THEY wanted to postpone a game for a player (no disrespect to P O'D) who has not represented them for TEN years !!
