They didn't show the game ? good.... always a high scoring game I get to miss. Was hoping to see you on here buba.... awaiting your next post - good man !
-
wow, 7-2 - 3 goals in 2 mins. Unreal, and I couldn't access the official site to watch it - typical !!!
-
Quite the game, Boyd breaks his recent misfiring run and now 4-2
-
I can't, not watching either
-
HT 2-1, there goes the clean sheet.....

Read the article again, Smith doesn't say he will be starting tomorrow, only that he will get his chance to start "soon enough" - that may, or may not, be tomorrow. I think WS also said that the wee man has to remain patient but that his chance will come - I think WS is letting him down gently for tomorrow but hope I am wrong, would like to see Nacho getting the start his play and impact so thoroughly deserves.
-
Have a feeling WS will go with your team Ascender - Thomson ahead of Hemdani based on form but also to keep Hemdani fresh for the CL game as his passing will be needed for us to keep the ball and frustrate Red Star.

I don't think you can compare value for money on the 2 players considering the difference in their ages - but I agree Pete, Lee McdCulloch has been a big surprise to me. I was one of the doubters on paying 2 mill for him, but he adds so much to the team with his industry and will to win alone that at 2 million he is already proving to be very good value for money.

Riquelme is a fantastic player - but will end up in a better league than the SPL.
-
On the whole he has been playing very well this season Pete - here's hoping this season is the season he proves you wrong !
-
The Tims are in the same position as us, they are not even in the group stages yet - one foot is there but they, like us, have work to do. Spartak have to be a decent side and probably capable of scoring at CP. Here is hoping in the return legs we see a goal in each game - one for us and one for Spartak .......
-
Pete.... can your old hands put up with the strain of doing this regularly ? Good preview and I think one which is worthwhile.

1-1 - it is back in the mix

Not disagreeing calscot but it was hardly rocket science to make that conclusion :fish:

I agree calscot. I think it is a trait of WS to start from the back, and where better to start ? If you don't lose goals you don't lose games. He did this in his 1st stint too, made us difficult to score against. When you do that your midfield and forwards are much more comfortable knowing they have a solid defence behind them - for the last 2 seasons if we went 1-0 up we, the fans, always hoped for a 2nd goal because there was no confidence in the defence to not let a goal in. Now... if we score a goal we are pretty confident that we will AT LEAST win 1-0 - changed days indeed. As the defence maintains its stinginess in letting goals in the midfield (BF in particular) should feel more free to express themselves from a creative viewpoint. WS and his team had a HUGE task ahead of them and this bear is very thankful foe the job they have thus far done in getting us much closer to Celtic in terms of starting 11 and the squad - last season we had, in my opinion, a starting 11 to match them but no strength in depth - this season I think we have both. Long may that continue. Hopefully the flowing football will come - but given the last 2 seasons we have had I will take the less attractive football for now so long as we are winning games and competing in all competitions, which again we haven't been doing for 2 or 3 years now.
-
Very refreshing to have WS making post match interviews - he says it as he sees it. We all know that we currently aren't the most attractive footballing team but lets not forget that the task WS, AM and KM had when they arrived was mammoth. They have done an admirable job thus far and IMO things will only get better, including more attractive footballing performances. We have stability and once the players gel we will hopefully see a team with confidence that are prepared to force their will on a game. It is encouraging to see the players last a full 90 mins too - seems the fitness coach is doing his job well, which is also pleasing.
-
Exactly. You can't say he isn't a top drawer keeper because of one high profile mistake he made. ALL the top keepers have made mistakes during their career, ALL of them. Gordon is only 24 yet has been playing very well in his fledgling career - and lets not forget he has done so whilst having to deal with some of the worst internal politics a club has ever seen. I think he has performed admirably - but I also think that AM is not far behind him.

Great read Frankie - very well put. Me thinks you should be a journo.

Agreed. That was the first thing I noticed - the logo actually seems to blend unlike all the other tops we have with the logo
-
I will be home when it comes out - if it is similar in design to what you have done above Frankie I am having one. I like it.

How lucky did I get on this bet...... Rangers giving St Mirren a goal of a start doubled with... Hibs giving Gretna a goal of a start (Hibs were down 2-0 with 25 mins left and scored their 4th in the last minute) Paid me out at 3/1

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/16047/Qu-Bo-says-no-to-Rangers- RANGERS have been foiled in a bid to land Chinese World Cup star Qu Bo. Express Sport can reveal that Walter Smith had hoped to bring the international striker over on trial but that move has been blocked by his club, Qingdao. The Chinese Super League club had initially given their 27-year-old striker permission to travel to Scotland but that agreement has now fallen through due to Rangers and Qingdao's new season commitments. Rangers wrote personally to issue the invitation to Qu Bo and hoped to get him over after China's Asian Cup campaign but that has now collapsed. His club are keen to cash-in on their £1 million-rated star but the timing meant that the Ibrox trial was going to run too close to the Chinese signing deadline and Qingdao don't think they had enough time to find a suitable replacement. Qu Bo has been told that he can come over on trial in November but now the frontman, who can also play wide on the right, faces an anxious wait to see if Walter Smith will go back in for him. The Chinese star is seen as his country's top frontman and played in all three World Cup games back in 2002 against Brazil, Turkey and Costa Rica. Not long after that he had a successful trial at Tottenham where he was offered a contract but it collapsed because of work permit problems. Former Rangers boss Graeme Souness at Blackburn was also keen on him but he also failed to get a work permit but since then Qu Bo has played in enough domestic and international games to meet the strict British criteria. If Rangers do keep the door open for him then he could become the third Chinese professional to play in the SPL after Du Wei's infamous stop-off at Celtic and Fan Zhiyi also has a brief spell at Dundee. Rangers, though, are aware there could be a massive commercial spin-off if they do decide to take a chance on Qu Bo.

Worst kept secret for a month but it has now been confirmed that Man U have signed him.
