I guess that the two minor differences are that the cash is coming from a state rather than a company and the sports washing issue, but most of the complaints don't mention these points. There definitely is an element of hypocrisy. Thankfully they don't have access to to the CL, so the only attraction they do have is the cash.

He comes with an impressive CV and looks to be an outstanding appointment. -

28 is too old to replace Morelos? 🤔 I presume you're meaning that his resale value will be minimal (?), but maybe we need people with experience to play along side the younger players? Not everyone has to be a project. As for the "he doesn't do much else", that's not what I've been reading. However I'm sure you've seen more of him than me so maybe I'm mistaken, but if all he is is a Colak-lite then I'd agree but given Beale wants him, I'm sure he must be a lot more than that. -

Not forgetting PIF who own Newcastle and the whole of the Saudi league. -

Because we need to replace Morelos? -
They are trying to promote safer gambling and say "Zero% Mission is a key way for us to have those conversations with our customers and the wider public - helping to educate players about the tools available to keep gambling safe and enjoyable and to signpost where to go if there are problems." It's obviously something that they want to promote so not sure why it's totally unnecessary.

We've got a thing called GDPR here that means that we can't always give out all that information. -

Agreed. He also won us so many points last season and was my POTY. To turn round and deny ourselves a player of that quality, who mean improve our team and get us more points, on a point of principle seems short-sighted. -

Unless the "ringfenced" cash for Tillman was used for Lammers? -

That's disappointing on Dessers. I thought he'd be really good for us. -
And I believe that was adding 16,000 capacity.

Yes, we need a bigger stadium but nothing significant will be done on that over the next 5 years. We'll have to live with what we've got.

I think it's a result from him, if the provision was part of the deal and wasn't subsequently negotiated. I guess Bayern held the cards when doing the original deal and may have had this inserted into the deal and there was nothing done about it, although maybe they've asked us to change the deal and it's something that suits both parties. Tillman didn't appear that keen on signing for us so best to get some cash in the door instead. -
What happened to that theory last season?

Was it not that Bayern retained an exclusive buy-back option? -
Agreed, but on the upside he's got the baggage of the way that he left last time and IF he starts badly then he will hopefully get less leeway than other mangers would and it won't take much for the fanbase to turn. Plus he's an arrogant, egoistical, tranny-loving arsehole, so there's a lot of hope for us.

Ferguson never impressed me that much when he was at Aberdeen. He didn't represent good value for money, but the fact that he seems to be flourishing in Italy suggests that I either missed his good games or I'm not as good a judge of a player as I thought I was. Probably a bit of both. -
Attitude toward young players breaking through

Patterson had the ability to have played a lot more for us, and would have had he not been up against the club captain. I'd like to think that Gilmour would have played a lot had he stayed. Lowry was unlucky to an extent last season with injuries and personal issues, and also the loan of Tillman. It's make or break for him next season. Hopefully he's learned a lot from Cantwell and can have his application. -

That was a game-changer. If they hadn't brought him in (or we had signed him) we could have got 20 in a row. -

Yeah, I don't do that either. I don't agree or disagree. They're just an irrelevance to me. I'm going into the preseason hoping all of our signings will be wonderful, and I'm excited because we'll have new players and I have very little or no opinion on them until I actually see them play. I remember when we signed Herrera and Alfie. In the first friendly at Ibrox, Herrera played firs half and Morelos the second and it was clear that Alfie was by far the better player. I didn't know anything about either beforehand. It's not to say that I'm denigrating the use of statistics. I've just personally got no interest in them and it's disappointing to see many (not you) using them and writing off Lammers before they understand how we're going to use him. or how he's going to perform in a Rangers jersey. -

Agreed, I'd much prefer to trust in Beale's judgement than try to prejudge a player based on some statistics that may or not be relevant, depending on how we're set up. #Old school loyal -

Just had a look back at the MOTM threads from Jan-March Motherwell March - 1 MOTM vote Hibs March – 2 MOTM votes Celtic Feb – 1 MOTM vote Thistle Feb – “Kent deserves a mention” Hearts Feb – “Davies superb as were lundstrum sakala and kent.” St Johnstone Jan - 2 MOTM votes Killie Jan – 6 MOTM votes Aberdeen Jan – MOTM with 12 votes Dundee Utd Jan - 2 MOTM votes Celtic Jan – 6 MOTM votes “MOTM by some distance” Yes, he had some fitness issues in April-May but to suggest that he didn't seem interested for the whole of this season is really unfair, and just seems to be perpetuating this twitter myth that he had an attitude problem for the whole of this season. During Feb, many fans were hoping he'd sign a new contract and while some questioned his scoring record, I don't recall anyone criticising his effort or attitude. Whether his performances and lack of appearances in April and May were due to fitness issues or the fact that he had decided to move, we'll never know but it certainly appeared to me to be fitness related.
