Just found out it's a protest against the Glazers. So what colour scarfs should we wear as a protest against Muir?

I'm by no means a man Utd hater (any more) but sad to see City knocked out. What is it with loads and loads of green and yellow scarfs in the Man Utd support?

At least in past transfer windows we usually started with the assumption that our new signings could bring something to the team and was something different. It was only later on (in some cases) that we realised that they were pish (as hopefully Celtic fans will start to find out tonight). Not signing anyone may save disappointment later but it's just bloody boring. -

There are ways round that, as I'm sure that you are aware, although it's perhaps not as easy as it was 10 years ago.

What's the source for all this information? Is it rumour-mongering from the consortium trying to scare the support into just accepting them?

Fleck refusing contract a misunderstanding apparently...

It's unproven that he threatened that. -

It could be argued that it focused the bank and got them to agree to signing off on a compromise business plan. -
The problem that some have is that they don't know who the consortium are and what their plans are for the club. How do the support know what they are going to get? If the sole argument is "we must be better than life under Muir" then it's not going to get much support. How do we know that they are not just wanting to pay £18m for the club and then sell Murray park and repay that £18m to themselves? The going rate for debt in companies that are still trading and have saleable assets exceeding the debt tends to be one to one.

It's hardly convincing to say "Players in the Championship are regularly sold for several millions" and apply that to Adam. There's few players sold from the SPL for more than £500K if they aren't first team regulars, which was where Adam was. There's also loads of Championship players sold for less than £500K. As for his reputation - slow, unfit, inconsistent was what many saw him as.
-
What clubs were interested in Adam, and what are their transfer budgets?
-
£500K for a player that couldn't get in a relatively poor Rangers team, and a player that we didn't want? I'd say we did OK out of the deal, and we would have had little hope of getting more than that. A dip in form? He had the odd good game and more bad ones in his time with the club. I don't remember a time when you could say that he was consistently good. His lack of pace and his inconsistency meant that we were never going to get more than that. The fact that he ended up at Blackpool, and there were few or no other takers proves it. If he was worth more than that then there would have been a queue at the door.
-
I'd disagree with that slightly. He'd struggle in a real 4-3-3 due to his lack of pace. He was fine in a 4-5-1 though, which, from memory, was the formation in both these games.

Let's hope so. Welcome to the site, mate. A long time no speak. -
I hardly think anyone is on his back. He has to be assessed in the same way as any other first team member if he has to justify his place in the team. Yes, Thomson has been rank, but I haven't seen enough from Fleck to say that he could play as a central midfielder and do the defensive job that is required in that position. There is an argument for him playing on the left of midfield but Whittaker hasn't been that bad when he has played there and done a lot of work in that position that I don't think Fleck can do (yet). Personally I'd stick with Whittaker at the moment, although I could be persuaded to have Fleck on the left if Whittacker swapped wings and Davis moved into the middle. Part of our problem is the limitations in other areas of the team, and we need all our players to do a lot of work, particuarly when Miller isn't in the team. A flair player like Fleck is therefore going to suffer.
-
Fleck is a bit of a luxury. Can create things when on the ball, but doesn't contribute enough either as a midfielder or a forward to warrant a starting place. I'm sure his contribution will improve with more experience though.
-
Good to see if he realises that he has made a mistake and corrects it now.
-
I'd have thought it was TBO but I'm sure others could confirm one way or the other.

On the radio. Just switched it on and he was in the middle of an interview and he said it. I was quite surprised and haven't heard it reported elsewhere, but I've been away.
