I'm talking about Keane. the fact that they can't afford to buy him is irrelevent. They went out and got a great player on loan with the finances for it just being realised today. Mendes and Davis were our creative midfielders. We are now relying on Davis and are in a lot of trouble if he gets injured. Are we to rely on Thomson, McCulloch and Edu for our creativity?
-
Their transfers were known for some time. The club don't have to wait before starting to look at players. They can have players lined up ready to sign, subject to Mendes and Rothen going, but for whatever reason that didn't happen. Time can't be used as an excuse. Celtic only sold McDonald today and were able to get a replacement in. Mendes is the only creativity that we had apart from Davis.
-
They were done in plenty of time to bring in other players. The bottom line is that our squad is weaker than it was when we went into the transfer window, and that's not a good thing. We have no cover for Davis.

I know for a fact that a lot of what you have said on this tread is wrong, which suggests that the rest of it is also incorrect.

Transfer Deadline Day Rumour and Movement Thread
Bluedell replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Would be good for them if they got him. Why would Spurs let him go though? Is he not one of their top 3 strikers, or have they brought in another forward? -
Transfer Deadline Day Rumour and Movement Thread

This is the correct thing to say, even if they are looking at someone. No point in getting people's hopes up and also saying something can get used against you when negotiating. -

I understand that there's a proposal for Gersnet to do the same to whoever it was that posted the Emir Kujović rumour. -

Also, who were the rejected board nominees? You claim to know that SDM's son was not one of them so you must know who they were.......
-
I think that's the main point, MF, although there is a certain aspect of "you lot don't have a clue what you're talking about and I do". He also seems desparate to prove that there are no people interested in buying the club for some reason.
-
Thought that might be the answer. So who were the nominees?
-
But was there an attempted takeover? What's the timescale for Murray's son becoming Chairman? Was he one of the people Murray failed to get onto the board prior to the AGM?

Wayne Bridge's girlfriend, allegedly.

I don't see the problem with the club statement. It was clear that it meant that nobody would have to be sold for financial reasons and walter seems to be confirming that.

Skint club? During NIAR? How many players has he signed in excess of £2M since his return? I don't know why people are getting so defensive about it. He doesn't do it, it's never been his style. That's just a fact. He'd much prefer to go for people he knows very well in Scotland, or people that are established interanationals. It doesn't make him a bad manager.

The key word was "unknown". Players that are currently playing for us already, or in the SPL or La Liga are hardly unknown. Edu, i'd agree was fairly unknown, but we paid in excess of £2m so hardly a great return. Beasley was an established international, and has played around 4 good games in the last 18 months. Darcheville and Cousin could be as disppointing as they were fantastic and never fulfilled their potential at the club, although I accept there's an argument for them. Bougherra is one that is tending towards it, but had already played in the Premiership and is an established internationalist, so not really unknown.

I think that Gazza makes a fair point. Walter has't exactly produced unknown players out of a hat while at the club.

Mendes - UPDATE: Will join Sporting over next 48 hours
Bluedell replied to Jim White's topic in Rangers Chat
Although there are other central midfielders, there is only Davis who has any creativity. Let's hope that Davis doesn't get injured, or else that points difference could get eaten away. -
He had 3 fouls given against him as far as I can remember. Hardly trying to get sent off. Penalised very unfairly by the ref, who let far worse stuff go, eg elbow on Weir. And he set up the first goal well.
-
Keevins has been saying that as well for a couple of weeks.
-
Perhaps it should be more relevant to look to see if Hibs can catch us? Missing the point loyal.
-
Nope. I wouldn't rest weir for a league game. Also, no way should Thomson be in front of McCulloch in current form.
